As a makeup artist, Wesley specializes in beauty, bridal, glamour, fashion, photography, and avant-​garde. He utilizes various products and techniques to enhance every complexion.

As a hairdresser, Wesley is versatile and capable. He enjoys a challenge and is constantly trying to elevate his craft in both cutting and color. His current specialties include creative color formulation and placement, color correction, blowdry and styling, and men’s haircutting. However, he strives to be great in all areas of hairstyling.

History

Established in 2005.

Wesley has been a makeup artist for over nine years. His experience ranges from everyday beauty to fashion runway, from bridal to photo shoots. He’s worked for and with many top brands; his advanced artistry training has included certificates, awards and classes from NARS, MAC, Chanel, Stila, and more.

With several years of makeup artistry under his belt, Wesley decided to advance his career in the beauty industry by becoming a licensed cosmetologist. At Paul Mitchell the School, he accelerated his learning and elevated his craft by being accepted into the elite Phase 2 program, and shared his knowledge with new students as a Core Mentor. As a licensed hairdresser, Wesley cultivated his craft at Jean-​Claude Salon & Spa in San Diego, then moved to Seattle. He now does freelance, on-​site work in the Seattle area.

It must’ve been my lucky day when I went to Nordstrom in Fashion Valley to get a make-​up consultation/​makeover at Chanel. One of the makeup artists introduced herself but then was pulled away and that’s when Wesley gladly took over! «Perfect,» he would say after several brush strokes. It’s like watching an artist work! Each step explained well and of course, reasons why each technique is done and how it changes your appearance. I had very little makeup skills (hardly wear anything except for eyeliner and mascara) — he even taught me how to do them correctly. Boy, was I wrong!
I’ve seen Wesley several times now — for professional makeup application, hair styling for NYE, and for hair at Jean Claude Salon. Very happy with the end product for all and I had so many compliments from friends and co-​workers. It’s relieving to have found someone who is very skilled and friendly while also educational in sharing hints to improve my beautification skills! :) Highly recommend Wesley for his personality, skills, and his flexibility/​accommodation.

I had one of those short angled bobs that I let grow out into a messy, bottom heavy long bob that I’d constantly wear tied up in a ratty bun. When I finally got tired of wearing the same hairstyle everyday, I booked an appointment with Wesley hoping he could fix my hot mess of thick Asian hair.
Short story is, he did! And I look great!
In more detail, Wesley really took the time, thought, and effort to see what style would work best for my hair, face shape, personal style, and for when my hair will grow out. He made sure my hair would have bounce and lift without it being too prone to frizz and fly aways. His new space in Jean Claude is gorgeous, parking is easy in its own lot in the back of the building, and it’s in a really cute neighborhood. He was thorough, professional, and charming. I’m already thinking of what to ask for my next haircut! But even if I don’t have any ideas I feel secure in that he’ll know exactly how to maintain my current cut or how to change it up in a cool way that suits me.

I have been looking for a new hair stylist for months and haven’t had any luck until I went to Wesley. He gave me a a hair cut and it was perfect! Exactly what I wanted and not overpriced like most places! He even taught me awesome new styling tricks after he finished! I highly recommend going to Wesley!

My wedding was in March at the Prado, and it was my top priority to look the best for my new hubby. Of course that included not only a beautiful dress, but also great hair and makeup. The Lab Salon was on my way from my house to the Prado, and I decided one day to stop in to see what they could do for my big day. Wesley introduced himself as a makeup artist, I liked the place, he was extremely friendly, and so I booked a consult for the week before the big day.
I recommend getting a consult before your actual wedding day. During our consult, we found that I wanted a few things done differently for the big day (lighter foundation, different color eyelids.)
The day of the wedding he made it into the salon dark and early at 6AM to meet me for my afternoon wedding. He got to work. and he didn’t stop working till I looked perfect. I have never felt so beautiful in my life. I walked out almost wanting to cry because I looked so great! He is truly an artist, and you will feel like a canvas being painted on. You will feel him add small brush strokes to your face that seem so insignificant, but its that detail which makes the end result so stunning. He is a perfectionist, and will do your makeup with extreme mastery.
His products are clean and sanitary, of good quality (Mac mostly), and of variety. He will make you look like you, but better and fitting for your big day. In photographs, the make up looked stunning, no touch ups had to be done in my pictures. He uses false eye lashes (if you’ve never worn them before, don’t fear!), I could never feel that they were on my eyes (that was a first). The next morning I woke up, and my make up was still perfectly in place. I had to scrub very hard to get the make up off!!! Even when I started bauling, no one knew, nothing on my face changed. I didn’t feel overdone, or like I had cake on my face. It felt light (for a full face of makeup) and looked great throughout the whole day.
He will make you look beautiful, and he’s a pretty funny guy to talk to as well. I highly recommend Wesley Dors for your makeup artist for any occassion.
