Not sure when I had my first root canal with Dr. Cohen. My dentist at the time, Dr. Zimberg, made the referral. It might have been 2012? Anyway — such a great experience! The staff were all excellent — professional, friendly and explained what my insurance would likely cover and what portion I would likely be responsible for so I knew what to expect financially. I had my first root canal in 2004 at another office and I was very nervous going into my appointment for a second. Dr. Cohen put me right at ease. She made the experience as painless and as enjoyable as possible. I said as I left that it was too bad that I would never see them again! Little did I know… I saw Dr. Cohen again for a root canal in November of 2014. Everyone was just as awesome the second time around as they were the first time. Last year I had a tough dental year — in 2015 — THREE root canals making it a total of five with Dr. Cohen. I wouldn’t even imagine going to see anyone else for a root canal. All of the other rave reviews are spot on and I am glad the word is out about the wonderful Dr. Cohen and her team.

Dr. Cohen & staff are first rate. I came in on a day where they were fairly busy and Dr. Cohen stayed past normal business hours in order to perform a root canal on one of my teeth. The staff was also great, both attentive and kind. It’s not possible for anyone to do a better job.

Referred here by my dentist for a root canal on a tooth that had been problematic (painful) for a year. Pain free root canal! Dr. Cohen and her staff were fabulous, ensured I was fully numbed up before proceeding with the root canal. Professional, friendly, personable staff. Easy parking, convenient (for me) location.

Never spend another moment agonizing over a root canal. Dr. Cohen and her exceptional staff made this procedure a non event. You are put at ease the moment you walk in the door. Pandora music, earphones, lap blanket to soothe you as Dr. Cohen does the root canal. I never felt anything, and that includes the Novocain injections. Dr. Cohen knows what she is doing, does it well, and has your comfort in mind. This is 21^st century endodontics, and it is superb. Walked out of the office, did some grocery shopping, laundry, and walked the dog. Life is good. Thanks to Dr. Cohen and all of her staff.

I knew exactly what the insurance would pay and what I was responsible for before I even made the treatment appointment. No surprises. I have some serious anxiety when it comes to getting a root canal and the staff wasn’t put out by this at all. They were very accommodating and understanding. They reviewed all of my options for the anxiety and made me feel in control of the situation. They treated me with respect and without any condescension. They talked me through the nitrous oxide usage and got me started on it right away, offered me a blanket and even gave me a wireless headset and let me pick the Pandora station (Ray Charles!). I actually fell asleep! I FEEL ASLEEP WHILE GETTING A ROOT CANAL! I can’t recommend this office enough. Kudos all around. Seriously. I have to get another root canal next month and I’m actually looking forward to it!

Dr. Cohen & her staff were a very professional /​efficient group. They made going to the Endodontist a comfortable experience.
Their integrity regarding billing was a pleasant experience .
Dr. Cohen was a maestro with the Novocain injection. I felt no discomfort.

Pain Free Root Canals! Dr. Cohen and her staff are amazing to work with.
We were told by other doctors that our 13 year old would need to go under full anesthesia to endure her root canal. Dr. Cohen and her staff took their time to make my daughter comfortable. She had a great procedure using only «goofy gas», and has been pain free since. Amazing!

Are you scared about getting a root canal? Well, you’re super lucky, because you’ve found Dr. Cohen – so don’t be!
I’ve seriously been through the wringer when it comes to all things dental in the past few years, and let me tell you, a root canal at West Seattle Endodontics is SO not that bad. (There are other dental things that ARE bad – but not this. :)
I won’t add too much repetition to all the praise, except to say that it’s true. Because of an exceptionally difficult tooth/​situation, I had to come here several times, and got to know everyone a little, especially the very friendly and competent Jamar. Not only was it a surprisingly pleasant experience every time, but Dr. Cohen could have very easily charged me for a second round of the procedure. But she didn’t – she just patiently worked on my complicated and stubborn tooth until it was right. That level of integrity is really refreshing in and of itself.
In closing:
1) It’s worth hauling out to West Seattle for this place, for sure.
2) Take a deep breath – seriously, half of the scariness comes from the horrible terminology «root canal”– it sounds way grosser and freakier than it actually is. It’s no worse than getting a cavity filled – and I’d say probably better because they’re so efficient at what they do here.

I have been super stressed out and in pain about my stupid tooth for months, so by the time I was in Dr. Cohen’s chair I was a total basket case.
She and her staff made me feel so comfortable and cared for. They explained everything they were doing very clearly, and continually checked in with me to be encouraging and made sure I was doing ok.
AND you get to watch a movie if you want, AND Dr. Cohen even called me the next day to see how I was feeling.
When I left I felt a little sad that I couldn’t see Dr. Cohen more regularly!

OK… I’m writing this as I’m still so numb that I don’t want my co-​workers to see me drooling… but I was so impressed with my experience with Dr Cohen that I wanted to write the review while it was still fresh in my mind. OH… and because the 4 co-​workers I’ve been raving about her to when I got into work are sick of hearing how I enjoyed my experience with a root canal.
Annnywaaayyy… I grew up around dentists — my Dad was my dentist until I moved out to Seattle. It’s hard to impress me, especially as it comes to bedside manner and the experience with the office and support staff. But! Dr Cohen and the whole office were great! From when I made my initial appointment over the phone until I was greeted and prepped by Jamar, up to and through Dr Cohen’s very professional but very approachable… well. approach.
Recommend HIGHLY if you ever need an endodontist!

I came to Dr Cohen absolutely traumatized from my horible root canal experience elsewhere and she totally picked up the pieces for me. She was very comforting. Furthermore her office staff was professional and it was clear that she has a raport with her hygenist. I think that a good hygenist (like a good nurse) makes all the difference. Dr Cohen used a long acting local abesthetic to get me numb and stopped several times to inject more and I got nitrous for the pocedure.

Fear hits you ~ your dentist refers you to a endodontist! Besides having pain, now you have fear, as this is your first time to an endodontist. After talking with a few local friends, other dentist and professionals in West Seattle, I was very confident in being referred to Dr. Cohen & her team. Key word ~ TEAM! From the first call into Dr. Cohen’s offices to book a consultive appointment, the front desk greeting, the entire staff and Dr. Cohen put their arms around you with the compassion, professional demeanor. This especially reflects on character of Dr. Cohen and her team. The words «root canal «was very scary and an unknown diagnose for me. Taking pride in having taking care of my dental health, I was taken back by the possiblity of a root canal and the processes.
Dr. Cohen and her team answered the MANY questions shared. They provided options and a complete exam to support the diagnose. It is key for me to share the experience, for if anyone is in need a endodontist ~ you will be very pleased with the team at West Seattle Endodontics. You are in good hands ~ We all appreciate being treated professional and with compassion ~ Cheers to Dr. Cohen, Jamar & the entire staff — Great team!

So… Nobody really likes going to the dentist, right? Even less so, a root canal specialist! Dr Cohen and her staff made my visit as pain-​free and comfortable as possible! They are all superstars! Dr Cohen and her assistant Jamar work so efficiently together, it’s like they are one being! Everything they did was seamless and designed to keep me comfortable as possible.
So get this — it’s the day before Halloween 2014 and the power goes out partway through… I kid you not. Do they panic? Nope. They bust out the camping headlamps and finish the job. I’ve got the pic to prove it! Thank you Dr. Cohen and staff!

Dr. Rachelle Cohen is a ROCK STAR! Well, at least a Rock Star Endodontist!
I was referred to Dr. Cohen several years ago by my dentist. She used her digital imaging system to clearly see what my dentist wasn’t sure about. I had fractured the root of a molar, and, unfortunately, Endodontic therapy wasn’t going to help me. She sent the x-​ray and the information back to my dentist, and sent me off with a hug and «I wish I could help you!!»
Fast forward to a Tuesday several weeks ago. A molar that had given me problems on and off for a year was suddenly revved up and in high gear. It was obvious to me that I needed a root canal when NSAIDS wouldn’t touch the pain. I called Dr. Cohen’s office, and the message said the office was closed for the week – on vacation. The message did give an emergency number, so I called it. My call was answered on a «Satellite phone» off in the far reaches somewhere… by Dr. Cohen. I was really embarrassed that the call had been routed to her while she and her family were on vacation! She wanted to walk me through the symptoms and I just wanted to politely get off the phone and let her return to her vacation. She offered a couple of options, but the fact was she was off on vacation and couldn’t get back to the office until the following Monday.
This little story kind of sums up my experience with Dr. Cohen. I know she is one of the best endodontists in practice in the Seattle area (friends that are dentists are quick to refer to her), and she is definitely one of the most caring. She is up to date on all the latest endodontic therapies, and is a fabulous practitioner. She’s smart, high energy, and very, very good at what she does. Not only that, she is a really nice person and cares a lot about her patients!
I recommend Rachelle Cohen to anyone I care about. If you need root canal therapy, GO SEE HER!

I unfortunately had to have a double root canal done and was in not only a financial bind but a bind with insurance as well. Dr. Cohen was absolutely amazing and is the best at what she does. Not only did they get me in the next day but they helped me with a payment plan so I could be relieved of the excessive pain that I was in. I’m deathly afraid of the dentist and Dr. Cohen made me feel very at ease and I was never in pain. If I ever had tooth problems again I will hands down come to west Seattle endodontics every time no doubt about it. I will refer all family and friends because this is a place I will always trust to be in the best hands.

Was referred by Dr. Leif Rasmussen for a redo of a botched root canal. I didn’t know that there were root canal specialists, but now that I do I’ll be coming here should I ever need another! The appointment was quick (around 2 hours) and friendly. Plus, Dr Cohen called me personally a few days afterwards to see how I was getting on. All dentistry should be like this.
Oh, and it’s right on the C line (get off at Alaska Junction), so is quite easy to reach from Vashon Island.

Dr. Cohen is awesome, confident and kind. If you need a root canal this is the place to go… they are experts at handling fearful patients. Dr. Cohen’s staff is also amazing.

Awesome!!! what a relief, I had been trying to deal with a bothersome tooth for months, just hoping that the pain would go away… it did not…
I was able to scheduled an appointment for the following day, was seen on time, it truly had a boutique/​spa like feel to it… Dr. Cohen’s concern for my pain-​free resolution of dental issues was very reassuring. I greatly appreciate the level of professionalism by her and her staff.
I hope I do not need another root canal; but if I do, I will go back to Dr. Cohen without hesitation.
