History

Established in 1965.

Wiley’s Waterskis is one of the oldest waterski and wakeboard pro shops in the world. We have been in business since 1965, when Paul Wiley first started making wood waterskis in his garage.

We moved out of the garage over 40 years ago. We now operate out of a 7,000+ square foot warehouse in South Seattle, where we have the largest pro shop in the Northwest.

This is also where we manufacture our famous made-​in-​the-​USA Wiley’s bindings, so if you need something repaired, we can fix it immediately, whether it’s our binding or another brand.

We now stock thousands of waterskis, wakeboards, wetsuits, and accessories — from all the leading manufacturers.

Being located in Seattle has many significant advantages, as we are within 30 minutes from all the major waterski and wakeboard manufacturing and warehouse facilities. If for some reason we don’t have what you are looking for on the shelf, we can get it back in stock fast — sometimes even the same day.

My husband an I have had the pleasure of dealing with Wiley’s on several occasions. They continue to exceed our expections. We have recently purchased a ski through eBay. When it arrived the binding was completely dismantled. After a brief pleasant inquiry on the phone I sent the binding to them for the repair. They recently sent me the invoice via email. To my surprise, no charge except for the return postage. Wow, what customer service. As a long time Nordstrom personal stylist, I understand the meaning of exceptional service. They have achieved the level of outstanding customer service an we appreciate, and value their standards.

So I bought a pair wakeboard boots at Wiley’s in the beginning of the season, fit great in store, was totally pumped to ride.
First time out, hated them (my buddy has same boots and loves them, so I am sure it was just me being picky) second ride, still hate them but I figured I bought them I’m stuck with them. My buddy says «just take them back Wiley’s will exchange them no problem». I ride em two more times and realize I have to take them back and sheepishly carry them back through the door at Wiley’s. They’re like, «what’s up» and I tell them straight up I hate them, what are my options. They laughed said no problem and exchanged them for full credit!
My new boots are friggin’ awesome and I am riding the heck out of them.
If you love Watersports it’s not worth going anywhere else!

Wiley’s know their stuff. In many ways the heart of NW skiing /​boarding. I had Paul do some binding work on my vintage O’Brien TRC today and he did an awesome job. They make their own bindings right in the store. If you have any interest in skiing /​boarding, you have to go in and just look at all of the classic skis they have on the walls. Pricing is pretty good and you can negotiate a bit on some of the pricier items or on a big package deal.

It’s not a marina, it’s a… wait for it… waterski and wakeboard shop. You can’t get spark plugs for your Evinrude Outboard Motor.
IF, however, you need the best waterski and wakeboard stuff available set up by the best staff around, check them out.
I don’t need gear very often, not being a top level skier, but when I do — I know where to go. They have fun tow toys and human propelled craft as well. By the way, their prices beat most on the internet — really.
I travel a good bit. It’s probably one of the top few ski/​board shops on the West Coast, including the Sacramento River Delta — another mecca for water sports. And, it’s probably a member of the best handful in the whole country.
A visit to Wiley’s is a treat.

I know nothing about water sports but needed to buy a wetsuit top and had heard of Wiley’s so I stopped by. The saleswomen on the phone and in person were super helpful and informative, explaining what might work for me and how it’s supposed to fit, how to care for it, etc. It’s a weathered mom-​and-​pop shop in a wonderfully scrappy neighborhood and hard to see from the main drag, but I’m betting it’s a hidden gem for water sport fans.

There is no other place to shop for waterski gear in the Northwest. Wileys is always my first and last stop for skis, wetsuits, and all of the other stuff we need to enjoy the water. Expert staff, and great prices. The only reason I know where Georgetown is is because I ventured down here in 1982, in high school, to buy my first «real» ski — a Jobe prototype.

Paul Wiley started his business making custom wood waterskis in his home. His shop in South Park has existed for over 40 years. Darren Wiley runs the shop now. Wiley’s just may be the oldest family owned ski shop in the nation. I’ve been a Wiley’s customer for at least 20 years. They have EVERYTHING you could want for your waterskiing pleasure, as well as wakeboarding and kiteboarding, and I’m talking accessories to essentials. I recently brought my dry suit in to have all the rubber replaced and they did a great job for a reasonable price. They’re also good resources for where to go for ski lessons and where to go ski.
