No sauce on the chicken teriyaki and the salad is just cabbage. Horrible! The only upside to this place is that they are opened on Sunday’s. But next time I’ll just order pizza. Never coming back here again!

The white-meat chicken was super, super dry. I’ve had well-done steaks that had more left in ‘em. The dark meat or pork might be way better, but there’s enough teriyaki around that it’ll be awhile before I go back to try it out.

Damn son. I took the advice of others on here and got the spicy chicken, and the pork. Both come with rice and cabbage salad, as usual. Both cost $ 8.50. Both were incredibly delicious. Much better than typical teriyaki places. The pork in particular was super soft and flavourful. The best part was that the sauce over both meats were incredible, and soaked into the rice, making the rice even more delicious than the meat! I really can’t get over how much better this food was than typical Teriyaki. The place looks like nothing, but who cares? Get your food to go, of course. This isn’t where you take a date.

This establishment must be a front for something else. In desperation, I stopped by for a bite to eat. The chicken was chewy and horrible. The«restaurant» was dirty and appeared as if it hadn’t been cleaned well in quite some time. That was my first mistake. If you’re hungry, walk over to Red Mill or QFC for a bite to eat. Pass.

I was very disappointed with the all white meat teriyaki chicken — completely dried out and flavorless. Looked like frozen chicken brought back to life. Portion is nice but I took one bite and could not eat anymore.

I have been coming to yasukos since I was introduced to it by my dad. Now I live at SPU and I still come here The meat in this place is so fresh and juicy. The chicken teriyaki is so great. The sauce is simple; compliments the teriyaki nicely and the pork is also very good. Their prices are great for what you get;a platter of juices goodness. The guy who works there is so funny to and has always made me laugh and it is always a joy to come out to Yasuko’s and get some great teriyaki. This place is all around great for teriyaki. The place is a little hard to find, but I would recommend looking for it for you won’t be sorry.

No frills, fast teriyaki. They have maybe 8 items on the menu. No noodles, no side dishes. No ambiance, lack of cleaning. But I live a block away, so whenever I just want food NOW, I find myself here.

I just moved to the area and decided to try this place because it’s a block from my house. I believe I got the regular white meat chicken teriyaki and it was really good! The lady was really nice and gave me extra sauce. I guess the only downside is that they only serve teriyaki but I personally don’t mind that as the teriyaki, rice and salad fill me up enough as is. I’ll definitely be coming back especially since it’s so close by!

I was in Seattle on vacation and heard that teriyaki is huge in the city. After much research and deliberation, my bf and I opted for Yasuko’s(aka it was the closest to where we were at the moment and we were tired of figuring out where to eat) Entering the restaurant it looks pretty shitty. No décor whatsoever and plain. Doesn’t look like the kind of place that would serve delicious food but don’t let the exterior fool you, this place is so good. I got the number 3(chicken breast teriyaki) with extra teriyaki sauce. It took about 10 – 15 mins to get our food as there was just one guy cooking. Definitely expect a bit of wait but I can’t blame the guy because he’s flying solo. The plate includes rice, chicken and salad. I cannot express how amazing it was. The chicken was perfect… Juicy and tasty. I love the smokiness and char from the grill. It’s just damn good.

I have lived on Queen Anne for a dozen years and finally ventured into Yasuko’s a few weeks ago. I was astonished at the freshness and moistness of the chicken and amazed at how simply delicious it was. everyone has been telling me to go there for a long time but it looked like too much of a dive. I’m glad I finally tried it. Went again tonight and it was just as good. They were cooking a lot of the chicken as I walked in so whoever said it’s all kept on the warmer and never cooked fresh is plain wrong. They serve the food with a generous helping of rice and it’s ready in about a minute. I brought three very picky kids with me and the pickiest one of all enjoyed it the most. I look forward to trying their pork.

I have been going to Yasukos basically all my life. Started off with the one that used to be at Greenlake a block behind Spuds. Was HEARTBROKEN when they got rid of the building! Hands down favorite CHIKEN teriyaki and sweet cabbage, ever! Good amount of food for the price. Have to drive a ways not to this location but definitely worth it.

The amazing beef teriyaki the owner use to make is gone. He has sadly changed what was a winning recipe. The new beef recipe he uses now is just(yawn) okaaaaay. I keep asking for the«old» beef but no luck yet. The spicy chicken and pork dishes are definitely still worth going for. Happy eating!

If you rate this place above a 1 you have never had edible teriyaki. This is cafeteria-style scoop and pull. Your food was steamed(gross-this is supposed to be teriyaki, grilled) a long time ago. My order went straight into the trash.

Came here for a quick teriyaki stop today. Spicy chicken has no sauce, is dry and not spicy. Will not be coming back. The lady working was nice and I should have inspected the to-go order prior to leaving but was in a hurry. Maybe she just forgot the sauce.

Don’t be put off by the décor. This place for sure has the best Teriyaki. I always get the pork/chicken breast combo. Yummy. Great price for the quantity too. The owner is the nicest guy. Check it out.

Absolutely terrible! I have never been in a place this disgusting. The«menu» is made from cardboard and a permanent marker. Not kidding. The trash was overflowing and the guy behind the counter wouldn’t even get off his phone while taking my order. All that aside, I proceeded to order because of the«great» reviews on here. Ordered boneless chicken(spicy). The man pulled a chicken breast out of a steam drawer, rice out of a cooker and cabbage from a bowl. Nothing was made fresh or even cooked in front of me. To top it off, literally, a ladle of sauce was poured over top of everything and as I walked out the door, leaked out the bottom of the bag all the way down the sidewalk. Did I eat it? Nope. Found the first garbage can I could and called the $ 8 a loss. Enjoyed a delicious Red Mill burger instead.

After trying this place for the first time two years ago, things have not changed. I came here simply on a whim because I was on a fun shopping escapade and ended up starving so I had to get off the bus and find the closest thing to comfort food: teriyaki. Unfortunately, this place is no more than a 3 star quality teriyaki joint. I’ve had better teriyaki in downtown Seattle(where there is nothing but crazy business and fast-food like places). I wanted to order the half chicken(it was about 1:40PM when I arrived)($ 7.50) but they said it was still cooking and was going to take another hour or so. One, that says that their food is not necessarily cooked fresh to order. I know that for a fact because they store it in their warmer and cut the teriyaki upon orders. It’s kind of a disappointment because the teriyaki is overcooked, a bit dry, and way too salty. So, because the chicken was going to take over an hour, I ordered the boneless chicken for $ 8. A bit overpriced if you ask me. Definitely not worth it. Majority of the takeout box was filled with rice… literally 60 – 70 percent of it was rice, and there was a small mere layer of meat and some cole-slaw like salad. Overall, it really was just mehh. It’s like fast food teriyaki, but with the lack of quality and flavor. Unfortunately, I wasted $ 8 on teriyaki that was scarfed down. I would say, if I was desperate like today, I’m definitely settling to gobble something just so I don’t faint… but spare yourself and go elsewhere that has really good quality teriyaki that’s not overly salty and that actually gives you various options and flavors! :D

Wrote my first Unilocal review of this place in 2008. Suffice to say, I’ve been coming here for many years, and have yet to be disappointed. Let’s talk about what has changed, and why it’s worth your federal notes to eat here. There has been a change in management and cooks over the past few years, and the guy who runs it today is probably the best thing to ever happen to Yasuko’s Teriyaki. Not that it wasn’t worth it before, but the food has been consistently good since he took over. The prices have gone up a bit since 2008, and it’s a little more for the half chicken these days. Still delicious as ever, so your money is going to be well spent. Also worth mentioning that you can ask for a combo of anything on the menu(except the curry, dunno why you’d want to anyway), along with extra meat if you are so inclined. Suggested servings: Boneless chicken — Standard teriyaki fare, light and dark meat pieces that are extremely moist and well marinated/seasoned. Combo it up with the roasted pork for a delicious meal. Roasted pork teriyaki — Totally underrated, and probably the best thing on the menu. Like the boneless chicken, it’s slow baked, and comes out super moist and flavorful. I’m convinced the pigs used for this had teriyaki sauce for blood. Roasted half chicken — This can be a hit or miss, and only because he’s gotta prepare these ahead of time. If you’re dying for half chicken, make sure to ask for a recommendation first. You’ll get an honest answer, and you really can’t go wrong with the alternatives. Otherwise, this is some of the best in town. Chicken breast that is so moist, it comes out sweating with flavor. So, why not five stars from such a devoted customer? Because you really have to come in at the right time to get the best of the menu, most notably the half chicken. Have to keep in mind that most of the food is prepared ahead of time, so meat sitting in the heater drawers for a while can lose all that good flavor and texture. To me, this place is hands down, the best teriyaki in Seattle. I am forever a loyal customer of Yasuko’s on QA.
