I had some of the best iced coffee I’ve ever had, here. Order the Yama cold brew. The inside of the café is really pretty, as well. The barista that took our order wasn’t very friendly, though. My fiancé asked what blend they are using for espresso and she seemed annoyed.

Zoka is the epitome of the cozy and warm coffee shop. The dark wood décor, the benches, comfy chairs and nice tables make this setting inviting even if it is to work. I’ve come here for long sittings while I worked on my dissertation and I’ve come here to hang with friends and just catch up. The quality of the coffee is outstanding and the customer service far exceeds most cafes. The staff are knowledgeable and take pride in their product without pretension. I love the vibe and product here. It’s all amazing.

My Zoka coffee card tells it all… hadn’t been here since 2011! Card is absolutely obsolete, logo changed, and OMG there are actual tables to sit down at. Good to be reacquainted with the original Zoka location in Seattle’s Tangletown neighborhood. This was a favorite hangout back when I lived in Seattle and even worked here briefly as an onsite baker. Wandered across the street after a satisfying dinner at a nearby restaurant to check it out again. Kiddo had a Thai iced tea, I had an iced mocha, and of course, had the requisite chocolate chip cookie. Totally surprised to see actual available seating. This used to be a major annoyance to not being able to stay and relax awhile. I had kind of converted over to Mighty O during those interim years. Handful of businesses have come and go, evolve and morph into another iteration, but Zoka had remained since the early 1990s. Currently a bit more refreshed and updated. Nice to see actual conversation happening, not just a bunch of laptop campers or academic study hall. Glad to have stopped by and hung out for over an hour. Yet again, Matt — you are one lucky local resident!

Cool coffee shop, free wifi, great place to study with plenty of tables and seats. Street parking may be a little difficult. My friend and I both got the lavender mocha. she got it hot, I got it iced. The lavender flavor is very subtle and the coffee very smooth. Can’t wait to try more things from the menu!

Definitely a fan of Zoka! I’ve only been here twice, but always get their Lavender Mocha. It has a great chocolatey taste, and subtle hints of lavender(without being overpowering). The only downside is the price! I’ll definitely be back in the future and it seems like a great place to get work done, but could get quite loud.

Great staff! Very friendly and above average service.(They brought me a replacement drink because the barista wasn’t satisfied with the first — both were great.) Good place to work/study — plenty of seats/outlets. Parking is fine a block or 2 away. Free 6hrs of internet. Clean bathroom!

I tried the aztec mocha, and my boyfriend tried the lavender mocha. Aztec mocha had a spicy kick to it that I enjoyed, without being overwhelming. The lavender mocha was a little too much for my taste, but since I had never tried that pairing, it was interesting nonetheless. Both Mochas were creamy, but not too sweet, just how I like my coffee. The place is big and quiet. Definitely a chill/rustic vibe. The barista was super nice, so I definitely want to go back to try the more basic items available. +++ free wifi! If you go in on a whim, try the less basic flavors, and don’t be shy! Talk to your barista about them and see which ones you’ll think you’ll enjoy.

I was hoping to score some latte art, but I think the barista was new and slower than normal. I’m a fan. It was an alright spot. I agree with others that parking was hard to come by. The lot next door is for the dentist. I see people bringing in donuts from the shop across and enjoying them with the Zoka’s coffee. Although, they did have many tables and seating, it was sparse to come by. This place gets very busy so you must be willing to wait a while for a latte. ^.^

This place is awesome, and the barista was friendly! Got a 16oz cold brew, and it was perfect.

I like the open seating and atmosphere — I can see myself reading here or writing here. There’s a lot of unique combinations and flavors at this café — very original. But nothing that got me super excited beyond the independent coffee shop it is.

1st time at Zoka and first time in Tangletown. First look and vibe: chill and rustic. It is very spacious here and I enjoy the layout. Plenty of places to sit including some comfy couches. I came in around 6:30pm and it was somewhat busy but not very loud. I got a cup of the lychee black tea and it was delicious! I would definitely come back for this and to try the other teas. It was a little too late for me(personally) to get some coffee, although I’ll definitely come back. Good, quiet, and cozy(but spacious) place to go to read a book and/or do work!

Be advised, this place is a laptop farm with very little available seating during the day. Also, there is never any parking anywhere near the place, since Tangletown is such a densely packed shit hole. You’re better off almost anywhere.

I am a pretty Frequent Zoka customer. Let me tell you ’bout that jam dot though… BEST pastry item offered here. The«jam dot» is essentially a chewy oatmeal cluster with berry jam in the middle. Crunchy, chewy, and fruity. The breakfast sandwiches & seasonal loaves are also pretty delicious. My usual drink is the lavender chai, or just regular drip coffee. Zoka Roasting Co is my favorite coffee in the city of Seattle — so I am also a frequent visitor at Jewel Box Café by Northgate Mall, which also brews up the Zoka goodness.

Love the wide open space. Great place to study with a good ambiance. Their selection of coffee drinks are unique as well as traditional. Their lavender hot chocolate and ginger chai latte are my favorite.

I’m not a huge coffee drinker, so I can’t comment, other than I like what they serve here. What sets them apart for me is how nice the people who work here are. My son wanted a steamer, but has a dairy allergy. When I explained this to the gentleman taking our order, he cleaned of the while streaming unit to ensure the was no milk residue before making his drink. Must other places just give it a wipe down. The extra effort is much appreciated!

Favorite coffee shop to work remote — I actually get stuff done :) Also, lots of seating, large open space and free parking. Don’t forget to grab a cold brew, too.

I am such a fan of this coffee shop! I have several options for coffee in my hood and will make a special trip to Zoka… just because… I love the little neighborhood it’s nestled away in. I am fond of the large windows plastered throughout the place. The natural lightning and the ample work space does wonders – as a grad student this cannot be overstated enough! Also, I really enjoy the fact they cap their WiFi limit to six hours, as of late I’ve been to some joints that cap their WiFi usage to two — three hour limits, that’s just not enough people! I need my WiFi and caffeine to go hand in hand like it was meant to be!

COFFEE: 3.0. Had the drip. Quite dark and thick. FOOD: 3.5. Chocolate croissant was good. SERVICE: 3.0. No smile, but prompt. AMBIANCE: 3.0. Comfortable with many tables, but little space between tables. We had to push ours slightly off center of the row in order to have enough room to sit down without crowding ourselves and the people sitting behind either of us. And both we and they were slim.

I really like this outlet of Zoka. I live on Capitol Hill and I use Zoka beans to make coffee every morning, so I here whenever I need to restock. It’s a quick drive with easy(free!) parking in a mostly residential area. The café itself is large and homey, with those nice cozy armchairs and sofas that we all love to see in a café. Power outlets are amply distributed, and of course there’s free wifi. If I lived in the neighbourhood I would definitely come spend afternoons here with my laptop.
