Davis Christmas Tree Farm

This place is GONE! We went there last weekend and where there were trees, there is now a field. No trace of the place left.
We are still in mourning.

There is something magical about searching through a tiny forest for the perfect tree, finding it, taking pictures with it, and then chopping it down. Coming home to find it still propped up in my living room brings back some of those memories and fills me with Christmas joy. Ahhh, the holidays.
Davis Tree Farm has been around for a while but the selection of trees seemed nicer than usual this year. Maybe it was recent rain? Most of the trees were tagged with prices ranging from $ 12 – 60 (from what I saw). My 6-​footer ran a little over $ 20.
While hauling the tree towards the office, I saw that some folks opted to use some sort of «tree dolly.» Amateurs. Carrying your tree around is part of the whole experience.
I entrusted my tree to the care of lovely gentleman who offered to bale it ($ 2 extra). Someone in my crew returned one of the many loaner saws that we used to fell the tree. I then headed into the office to pay up, scored a bag of fresh mistletoe, and collected my Free Bag of Apples coupon for Twin Hills Ranch.
All in all, a very pleasant experience.
***If you can fit it in your vehicle, I highly recommend wrapping your tree in a bedsheet to capture sap and needle droppings. It also makes for easy and mess-​free indoor transport.

I am Christmas retarded. I start decorating, singing Christmas songs, drinking hot cocoa, watching Holiday movies, buying presents, all that jolly stuff– eh, I’d say early November. Some call it eccentric, but I call it festive :)
So when I start getting the itch, of course the first thing I wanna do is go Christmas Tree hunting. That early in the season there are very few places open. Davis Christmas Tree Farm is! This year we bought our tree one week before Thanksgiving!
They have a HUGE variety of trees, varying in price. We purchased an 11 foot beauty. We haggled with the lady in charge down from $ 220 to $ 130!
