Himalayan Tandoori & Curry House

This place is delicious! I always get samosas, momos, naan, curry and tandoori chicken. Everything tastes spectacular, and the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it is just a bit pricey. other than that, I totally recommend this place! The lunch specials are a great deal as well.

One of my favorite spots to dine in Sebastopol when I’m in the mood for spicy food. The atmosphere is nothing special but the food is good and fl so is the service. The portions often have a lot of sauce and not as much actual food as I would like but the portion that you do get is of a high quality and delicious. We love the Tikka Masala and the salad with avocado and onion. Good food, nice people, fair price.

Really superb curries and tandooris! and I’ve been cooking Indian for most of my 81 years. My lady & I had Tikka Masala Lamb and the same sauce with vegies. Gravy rich and just hot spicy enough. Twice before we had a variety of other dishes. The Tandoori lamb was the best of many dishes we’ve tried.

What this place lacks in ambiance it makes up for in incredibly friendly staff, authentic and delicious Nepalese dishes, and reasonable pricing. They do have a corkage fee which they forgot to tell us about so keep that in mind if bringing a bottle. Chicken coconut curry had great full flavor and the lamb tikka masala was excellent as well. If you are a fan of spice then you may need to ask them to take it up a notch but for me it was perfect. The momos which we had never tried were surprisingly delicious and each meal comes with a complimentary bowl of dal. Definitely worth trying.

Wow! This food inspired me back to the taste of Himalayas ! Such rich flavors and happy staff! It was busy for a reason and yet surprisingly not loud.

This is a cozy little restaurant with a beautiful lush garden and charming décor. The owner is very involved and clearly takes pride in the business, getting to know his customers and quickly acquiring regulars with his winning personality and delicious cuisine.
From the appetizers, we had the garlic basil naan and the plain naan. The naan was some of the best naan I’ve ever had. I highly recommend it for sopping up every last bit of the delicious curry entrees. We had the mixed vegetable tikka masala and it was divine. The vegetables were fresh and flavorful. Even the white rice that came with it (you can also opt for organic brown rice) was moist and fluffy. We also split a mixed grill tandoori platter which comes with salmon, shrimp, cubed lamb, chicken and a sprinkling of vegetables. The salmon was cooked perfectly and fell apart in my mouth, the shrimps crisped from the grill but still incredibly juicy and the vegetables were plump and firm, not at all overcooked. The lamb and the chicken, however, were slightly overdone and a little tough.
I highly recommend coming here and ordering any of the seafood or vegetable dishes. Don’t pass up on the naan either. There’s always a little room for amazing naan. I wish I’d had room for the samosas — they looked delicious. If you can, bring a few people with so you can sample more of the appetizers.

Everyone was so nice and polite. I ordered the mixed vegetable vegan curry and it was absolutely divine! I don’t live near here but next time I’m around I will definitely be back! I am also going to be sure to spread the word! It’s always great to see the whole staff, including the manager, pitch in and help make things run!

When you find a restaurant where your kids enjoy the food and say YES with enthusiasm when it’s suggested (and it’s very different than their usual fare and one can be very picky), the staff remember details about you and your family after the first visit and have played hackysack with your kids because you are the last customers of the evening and busy chatting with the owners son, and the food is delicious every time… I am sold!
