Great donuts, always good, always fresh, would recommend it as the best donut shop in sonoma county.

I dropped in here purely to satisfy my curiosity. It always looks so deserted, one wonders how it’s been able to stay open all these years. For a place that professes to sell donuts, their selection is meager and pretty unexciting. They offer most of the same varieties as Safeway for nearly twice the price. Contrary to what the name suggests, very few of them are jelly donuts. I chose a glazed, bear claw-shaped item. The donut itself was fine, but the apple filling was so heavily over-spiced with cinnamon that it was bitter and I ended up picking it out.

The name intrigued me, so I stopped in on my way through town on a whim. The donut case looked decent, and had a good selection. I ordered 4 different donuts, she bagged them up and rang me up. I gave her a $ 5 and got back a dollar and change. Feeling generous, I slipped the dollar into her«tip» jar on the counter saying«thank you». NOREPLY. Hmmm… Note: not a single soul was inside except the clerk, but it was around 1pm. The water dispensers looked lonely, but clean. There were no retail items for sale except plastic water bottles. I was hoping to find a ceramic crock dispenser and/or glass bottles when I stopped, was actually not there for donuts. No such luck, so I went for the donuts. Well, that was not such a good idea. They were fresh enough, but tasted manufactured. I peaked around/snooped wondering how clean it was inside(it was pretty clean to be honest). That is when I saw a stack of HUGE bags labelled«donut mix» in the back. Seriously? WTH? Thats a lot of «donut mix» for a small store in a small town. The flavor was not much different even though I ate 1 crumb donut, and 1 chocolate old fashioned. The chocolate icing was good and thick. But, honestly ~ boxed and shelved donuts in any grocery store or snack store tastes much the same. The donuts here taste like a ton of sugar and fat. My guess: the«donut mix» is similar to a boxed cake mix. The size of the bags of «donut mix» tells me there is no way the donuts sold there will ever taste like a REAL donut. Ewww… and my tummy did not like the 2 donuts I ate at all, to put it mildly.

As others have pointed out, this is an «interesting» place(donuts and water… OK…), and that’s kinda what makes it so wonderful and unpretentious. I went during a work break, grabbed a donut and coffee. Pretty standard, definitely nothing great, in terms of donuts. The donut was a little dry(but it was the afternoon), but it looked dry in the cabinet, so i shouldn’t have chosen it, and the coffee, was coffee. Not that I expect much from a small donut shop, but the décor was pretty weird. I liked the old portraits of kids with giant piles of donuts in front of them. Maybe they made a deal with the portrait studio across the street back in the ’80’s? They had pink boxes piled up, the place is pretty cluttered, which is typical for Asians(LOL), and the employees(who seem like the owners) speak very poor English. I found that endearing in a town as white-washed as Sebastopol. She did smile and seemed to want to be friendly. This place would be great with some TLC(nice location, and who doesn’t like donut and water breaks?). I can’t figure out how they stay open, but I’m happy they do.

My whole life my Mom and I have joked about this store. What a strange combo we thought, it has to be a drug front. Alas, neither of us ever went in because we both happen to hate donuts. My boyfriend on the other hand loves donuts. The other day my room was super messy and I said I would buy him a donut if he helped me clean it up.(I am not against bribing… hehe) We drove down and were pretty excited to grab some donuts, and we walk in and the case is literally empty minus like 5 of the same kind of donut and some croissants. Really?! I know it’s like 11am but don’t you think it’s part of you job to keep donuts in the shop? We grabbed one of the«bar» donuts because we were already there. This donut was disgusting. Even my boyfriend didn’t like it. It tasted like a baguette that had been dipped in sugar water. Gross! I need to come back here one time early in the morning to see if they can impress me more.

i went here to get water, and while i was there, i got the kids and myself a doughnut. while the doughnut tasted old and dry, that was not my biggest gripe — I understand that usually dounuts are made early in the mornings so getting them in mid-afternoon is usually going to mean they’re not gong to be the freshest. My biggest gripe was the customer service i received. The girl working there was very unfriendly. i’m pregnant and she happened to pregnant as well, so i told her she looked cute and asked if she knew what she was having. She responded, but never even cracked a smile and acted irritated that we were there. you’d think with a business like that, you’d want to do what you could to keep customers coming back by being friendly and welcoming, not rude and pissy. While the water was fine, I definitely won’t being returning. id rather deal with a machine than an unfriendly person.

Jelly Donuts & Pure Water in one stop shoppping? yep. wouldn’t have thought the patrons of either would have anything in common. they probably don’t. the Pure water part is just a faucet sticking out the front wall so it’s not space consuming. the inside of the shop looks just like normal donut shop. drink: farmers coffee and many flavors: not a fan, passed eats: french crueller(.99) –was given one of the smallest one there was. –blessing in saved calories, just sugary, not a memorable taste. –on the edge of waterness but not.(not melt in mouth). crumbs: –cashier busy in back –no patrons present.
