This was my first time having to contact an auto body shop and didn’t know where to go. So I asked around and everyone recommend Sebastopol Auto Body.
I though the recommendations were mostly based on just the quality of the repairs but for me this rating is also about the owner Carl’s interaction with me from beginning to end.
When I first met with Carl so that he could see my car and assess the damage he was very kind, professional, and genuine. He was very pleasant to be around and did everything he could to make sure I felt taken care of.
After that first meeting I definitely left thinking, «well what a nice man!» While I was waiting for my part to be ordered so they could work their magic, he kept my informed every step of the way.
I would highly recommend this auto shop! I was not only blown away by the work done on my car but loved how much the owner really cares for each of his customers and delivers exceptional customer service.

sent my girlfriend to get a power mirror unit swapped/​installed after hers was cracked and i bought her a replacement on ebay. i called and he said to send her and it was quick and a few bucks. nice experience. i hope they’re never needed for anything more serious but made a good first impression.

I made the boneheaded mistake of letting my front bumper kiss the garage entry.
They were so nice! Gave me a quick fix, no charge!!!

I have taken my Toyota Hybrid to Carl 3 times for body work. Carl is the kindest, most service oriented, helpful business owner I have ever worked with. He goes out of his way to accommodate your schedule, he works with the insurance company and coordinates all aspects of the repair work. He actually makes getting your car fixed a hassle free experience! In addition, his staff does impeccable work! Everyone needing auto body repair should go to Carl.

Too bad that I had another accident requiring bodywork, but the good news is how Carl and his staff at Sebastopol Auto Body took care of me as well as my car. They facilitated everything from the tow truck, a great loaner car from Enterprise, and handling the insurance with Farmers — and, its a perfect repair!

Unfortunately I’ve had too use Sebastopol Auto Body twice in 2 years. The upside of my misfortune is finding the best auto repair service around. Carl and his crew are in one word «Amazing» if you are looking for simple or major repairs you must give them a call. Over the 50 plus years in my life i have learned a lot about customer service. They go above and beyond all aspects of service with rentals, helping you with any and all issues and completing the job on or ahead of schedule. It is very rare when you come across a service like this that make you feel like family. Thank you!

My recent experience with with Sebastopol Auto Body was beyond great… it was stunning!!! I had a rear bumper issue on my Audi and was deeply concerned it was going to be a big deal and expensive to repair. Carl was very reassuring and kind… yes KIND. Like many women I am on guard for being taken advantage of on just about everything car related… The service I received exceeded my expectations. Seriously if more people in business were like Carl the world would be a better place. Excellent customer service and a great job!!!

This was the best auto repair experience of my life. Carl + staff are wonderful human beings, first, and then, atop that, are extremely accomplished, meticulous and experienced auto repair professionals. Honestly, if possible, I’d wave a magic wand that would allow everyone in a 100-​mile radius with auto repair problems/​paint issues to experience the kind of auto care magic effected by Carl and his staff during my car’s stay with them.
Last fall was a crazy, wild, stressful time for me. In the middle of all that, I was in the first real car accident of my life when, on 101, a delivery truck changed lanes into the side of my red 2004 Honda Accord. Carl came to my home and was so genuinely reassuring, so very *nice*, I felt immediately reassured and quite positive about giving him my keys and waving goodbye to my damaged car as he drove it away to his shop. (I have a second car so didn’t need them to drop me off at Enterprise to rent one.)
There was a lot (LOT) of damage to my car. The delivery truck had changed lanes right into the side of my vehicle as I accelerated to try to get past it. The driver’s side was crumpled and the driver’s side door wouldn’t open. There was damage everywhere along that side and wrapping around to the back fender a little, too.
Carl, his crew of amazing technicians and the efficient and personable office staff, kept me apprised of what was going on with the work. The day I got my car back, I was dumbfounded by the quality of the work. They’d fixed all the dents, dings and hugely crumpled areas and matched the paint perfectly. The places they’d worked on – the driver’s side and the rear end – looked brand new. Not just good: Brand new. New the way it looked when I picked it up from the dealer back in 2004. They thoroughly detailed the inside, too, which hadn’t been done in recent memory.
If I ever have need of the Services provided by Carl+crew at Sebastopol Auto Body I’ll not hesitate for a minute. They’re the best there is.

From the moment I met the owner, Carl, I knew that I was in good hands at Sebastopol Auto Body. My rear bumper cover was badly dinged up and needed to be replaced. Color match was my big concern, but it was matched perfectly. Most importantly, Carl took great care to complete every aspect of the job, exactly as agreed. The work was done on time, the price was exactly what the estimate showed, and in the end, Carl assured me that if anything was not to my satisfaction, I was to bring the car back, no questions asked. My daughter also had her car repaired here, and her experience was the same. If all businesses operated like Sebastopol Auto Body, there would be many more successes and far fewer failures.

I haven’t even had work done on my car yet at Sebastopol Auto Body but just dropping in for an estimate made me fall in love with the business. Carl was so empathetic and helpful, it was very clear that he cares for people first, business next. I will never go anywhere else!

As everyone else has stated, Carl is the best there is. It cannot be said enough.
He offers to come in Saturdays for me, and has helped me with every unfortunate accident that has occurred (people love to run into me apparently). And every time, Carl calls me with updates because he knows my car is my baby. Carl goes above and beyond, and every other shop just doesn’t compare. It’s no wonder I have their number stored in my phone! I’m a customer for life, although hopefully I will have to come in less in the future – nothing against you, Carl! :)

The level of service from Carl and his staff is something you just don’t come across often. They are so friendly and helpful, and though my car is old and probably not worth repairing to anyone but me, they nonetheless gave my car (and ME!) the best treatment possible. They also take care of everything involving the rental car company for you– one less hassle. Though I hope no one else bashes into my poor car, Carl and Co. now have a customer for life!

This is an outstanding business. The workmanship is impeccable, as others have said, but what really sets it apart is how they treat their customers – with a degree of genuine respect and friendliness I personally have never encountered before in a business. Somehow, in this world awash with commercialism, they have kept their priorities straight. They deserve all the praise bestowed on them here.

There is a reason all the reviews are so high for this business — it is simply the best autobody experience you can get.
I took a friend’s car in for a bumper replacement, the pricing was better than any other shop I consulted, the service was fast, friendly, and gracious.
I have never felt so appreciated as a customer; it was like working with a really good friend. The office is clean, spacious and calm to be in — Carl is, honest to God, some kind of saint, you simply don’t find business owners like him. The staff is friendly, flexible, and caring.
In case there is any doubt, there is a whole wall filled with letters and cards expressing thanks and gratitude for everything from routine work done with kindness to emergency, beyond-​the-​call-​of-​duty level service also done with kindness.
Also, they even washed the car when they were done. Who does that?!

Sebastopol Auto Body has taken care of me twice in the last two months. Both times it was a great experience, great work, fair price, great service. The second time was exceptional. I did a really dumb thing and Carl, (the owner) fixed it himself, NO CHARGE. My dumb thing turn out not to be so bad, but just to take care of it, WOW. I will be telling all my golf buddies about it later this week.

I damaged my car on my way to the city for a ticketed event. I had my car towed to Sebastopol Auto Body from Novato. When Carl found out that I was going to miss the event-​he basically got me into a loaner car and said-«go have fun and make it to the event!!» They weer so caring and wanted to help me through the accident as painlessly as possible-​even dropping me back off at my house over an hour away.
Carl called and gave me regular updates on the progress of the repair. I woudl give this business more stars if I could. Sebastopl is lucky to have Carl as a business owner and also lucky to have such a wonderful business in the town. My car was returned detailed better than when I bought it!

The sad news was when I trashed the passenger door and rear door of a Lexus SUV while turning around in a friend’s driveway. Hate that crunching sound! My Farmer’s Insurance said I could have it fixed at the body shop of my choice. I took it to a few shops, including the Lexus certified shop — but, Sebastopol Auto Body had a pre-​approved status with Farmers (no surprised or added charges to me), and offered me a free Toyota while it was being fixed — and, I loved supporting a local business. You understand that local businesses profits stay here, not going to international corporation, right? OK, what is most important was the repair was flawless. Actually looks better than before the accident! Great people to work with, too.

Amazing! Carl is unlike the stereotypical shop owner; he is kind, honest, and will bend over backwards to get your car perfect and take care of you as well.
Flawless repairs including all the original lines, perfect paint matching and my car came to me cleaner than when I pay to have it professionally washed/​detailed.
I will NEVER take a vehicle anywhere else for repair.

Just got my car back today and it looks absolutely perfect!
I had a run-​in with a pillar in a hotel parking lot and scraped the front left side of my car and bumper … my less than one year old car by the way … Our insurance company had recommended another auto body shop at first, but when my husband checked them out on Unilocal their ratings were just terrible, so we went with Sebastopol Auto Body instead and we are so happy we did.
And while we are hoping not to need an auto body shop in the near future, it’s good to know that our car will be well taken care of if we do.
