Enchantment Resort

This is such a gorgeous resort. We hesitated after reading some of the reviews and that would have been a terrible mistake! It is away from town, secluded on a beautiful canyon with an excellent spa, great pools and beautiful grounds. The rooms are not outdated (they did have some «distressed» furniture, but it was high end); they are beautifully appointed and clean, with great bathrooms. The service at the hotel is great, and the restaurants have delicious food and great service. I highly recommend for a rest and relaxation in a spectacular setting.

Trevor one of the resort helpers who gave us an amazing tour, recommended things to do during our stay and even gave us rides in the golf cart when we were done with our spa treatments.
The food at the spa and Chi-​Ah-​Chi were our favorite places to eat and the rooms are amazing. Private balconys, breakfast served and the showers are to die for.

Wonderful resort nestled in the hills of gorgeous Sedona. Enchantment is the correct word for this place. The scenic drive to the resort was breathtaking. You see deer roaming about and can feel the tranquility immediately. Came here for lunch with my mom on our mom/​daughter Sedona getaway. With sweeping views of the red rocks in the background this was the perfect place to have a scenic lunch. The grounds are immaculate and the staff here very friendly. Next time I visit Sedona this is where I have to stay!

We bought a two night gift certificate at a charity silent auction that included the room, breakfast and golf for two. We stayed February, 2016. We will not be returning.
Check-​in: They did not have a record of the gift certificate we purchased. Fortunately, we brought the original with us. They made a copy and told us to charge everything to the room and the final bill would reflect the gift certificate.
Lunch first day: We were seated promptly and then waited for 15 minutes before a waiter came to our table. It took another 20 minutes for our order (sandwiches and salad) to arrive. Our waiter disappeared, so we had to flag down a busboy to get the check to sign.
Room: The room was clean but had only one cup, one water glass and one bathrobe. The next day we left a note for housekeeping; still only one of each.
Shower: The resort is in the desert. There is a drought. It took 10+ minutes to get hot water from the shower.
Dinner first day: We made reservations at Che-​Ah-​Chi for 7:30PM. When we arrived at 7:25PM, no one was at the hostess stand. While waiting 5 minutes for the hostess to arrive, we talked with two other couples waiting in the area. They both had reservations for 7:00PM and had not yet been seated. The hostess told us they were running a little behind and that we would be seated about 8:15PM. She suggested we go into the bar and order a drink. We complained and asked for the manager. No manager arrived; the sommelier came out, apologized and offered a free glass of wine. We ate dinner elsewhere.
Breakfast second day: We arrived a little after 8:00AM. The hostess was unpleasant and said she would put our name on the wait list. Given our experience from dinner, we asked how long before we would be seated; she said 15 – 30 minutes. Since we had a tee time for 9:20AM, we asked if we could just eat from the buffet in the adjoining room. She replied with a surly «no»; we ignored her, took plates, served ourselves from the buffet and ate in the adjoining room. Eventually, she came in and asked us to sign the check for the buffet; the check was $ 52 for two people.
Golf: This was the only positive experience during our stay. The pro shop staff was professional. The check-​in and cart setup were easy. By the 8^th hole we were stuck behind a group of five; one of the pro shop staff met us, suggested we skip a hole ahead and took us to the 10^th hole. We were able to complete the round unimpeded. The course has an interesting layout and is in good shape but does not warrant the green fee of $ 250 per person per round.
Lunch at golf restaurant: Stopped in to have a bite after the round. No one else was in the restaurant. We ordered a sandwich and a salad. It took 25 minutes and two requests to the waitress for our lunch to arrive.
Spa: We scheduled two massages at $ 160 per hour per person. The masseuses were professional but not more skilled than the masseuses at Massage Envy charging $ 39.95 per hour per person.
Hike: We scheduled a hike from their activities list to explore the beautiful scenery. This was free, however the guide brought along a female acquaintance with whom he spent most of the time. We were not sure who was trying to seduce whom. But we learned very little about the scenery or history from this guide. Afterwards, we felt it necessary to call the concierge and relate our experience.
Breakfast third day: We tried to make a reservation so as not have to be on the wait list. But they do not take reservations for breakfast! By this point we just wanted to leave, so we ate the buffet again, signed the check for another $ 52 and left.
Check-​out: Given all of the above, we were not looking forward to this experience. When we asked for a copy of our billing, the balance was zero. Go figure.
If you want to stay at Enchantment Resort and spend $ 300 – 400 per night for a nice hotel room, just sleep there. Better options for eating, playing golf and enjoying spa activities exist in the Sedona area at much less cost.

I would like to start by saying though our experience at the Enchantment Resort was horrible there were some positives.
First off the location is spectacular! The views are to die for and the grounds are nice. We ate at Che-​Ah-​Chi a couple times and the food was actually very good. The spa services are what you would expect out of a high end resort and were a nice way to end our disaster of a stay. These and these alone are the only reasons this place has any stars.
If you are looking for a romantic getaway or a couples retreat this is not it.
The rooms look nice in photos but the beds are pullout beds that consist of a poor quality mattress and scratchy sheets. Also our bed was at such an angle we literally had to pull ourselves up in bed all night because we were sliding down. You we be better off bringing your sleeping bag and laying on the floor.
The worst part is that the suites are separated by a single sliding door. We could hear every word of every conversation in the suites on both sides of us. In fact a couple in the next room were arguing so loud and with such profanity we asked to change rooms. In our second we faced the same situation. For a resort that focuses on peace and tranquility you would expect to be able to have some quiet instead of listening to conversations and the tv in the next room over. For $ 500 a night I shouldn’t have to share a room with my neighbors.
Needless to say we will not be returning and would not recommend the Enchantment Resort to anyone! In fact we checked out a day early, we had such a poor experience. Don’t worry though they won’t even bother to ask why you are leaving early, so it’s super easy.
Sedona is a truly beautiful place and I think everyone should experience it just not from Enchantment.

Stayed here in March 2016. We stayed at the hotel for a friend’s wedding. This was our second time in Sedona — but the setting of the resort still managed to take our breath away. While it is hard to go wrong when in the town, the Enchantment in particular places you right in the middle of the red rocks. We loved our casita suite — especially the fireplace and deck to unwind. However, did find that some of the furniture /​décor was a little aged. Nothing to complain about, but just would have expected given the caliber (and price) of the hotel — the interior would be more refreshed. We loved the little touches like OJ delivered to our door and golf carts to take you around the hotel grounds. It was also nice to be able to hike out to trails and cut out a lot of the trail that would have been required to walk around the hotel grounds :)
Overall, we had a magical stay here. The Enchantment is truly a gem and we’d stay here again the next time we are in Sedona.

Location and casitas are 5 stars. The food is just bad. Tried the breakfast buffet and dinner– very disappointing.
The accommodation is fabulous. Highly recommend the place for a staying and enjoying the spectacular views. The nightly star gazing with astronomers was superb. But — will not eat at the restaurants.

4 stars, this is a solid resort.
I see here complaints about wifi and cell reception, but I was able to Instagram and text during the whole stay. Also, the place may not look the newest and shiniest, but it’s Sedona and a rustic décor fits. (The New Age scene and Native American ancestry play a large role in the hotel.) Nothing was outdated or out out of order. Customer service was good, though nothing exceptional.
What I liked best about Enchanted was the sheer number of things to do. The resort is 10 — 15 minutes out of the way from the downtown, but it has everything you need to enjoy a visit to Sedona. I tried guided hotel tours, yoga, qigong, meditation, mountain biking, cooking classes, and crystal grove visitations. This grove is close to the check-​in desks, and is really like a little cave with large quartz crystals in it. During one of my group visits we were looking at the crystal in the center of the room and the lady next to me burst into tears. (Guests were visiting to get away and seek spiritual solace.)
The spa at Mii amo matched the quality of other luxury spas, inclusive of toiletries, robes, saunas, and soaking tubs. I can’t speak for the additional services. Everything I previously listed came with my nights’ stays.
What I did try that was additional though was an astrology analysis and reading (tarot reading, aura photography, and reiki healing were also available). Supposedly the lady that works there has many famous clients. It was interesting; I don’t really buy it, even if it was $ 200. Basically she told me I would be getting a job soon that involves communication, perhaps involving technology; isn’t that most every job?
The swimming pools were delightful; the outdoor one offers a picturesque, otherworldly view of the adjacent red sandstone formations. It’s natural beauty infused with the architecture, so perhaps not worth the price to those who prefer man-​made waterfalls and sleek, zero-​edge pools. The canyon walls are a brief walk away and can provided hours of physical fun.
The food from the two restaurants I tried were not bad, not that good either. The cheese plate was pretty nice, nice looking at least with edible, delicate flowers each with a distinct flavor, including watermelon. The best hot food I had was actually from the cooking class; you get to eat whatever the chefs cook up. We tried a black volcano rice.
The night here was gorgeous with pristine stars and strung lights in certain areas of the hotel. Then every morning on our doorstep was a metal pail containing a few servings of cold orange juice. If the OJ was freshly squeezed it would have been a lot better.
If you are spiritual and/​or enjoy hiking and dessert climates, this is probably the nicest place to stay in Sedona.

As you arrive in Sedona, you realize the views are gorgeous and the outdoor experience exceptionally broad. Enchantments adobe casitas are nestled in beauty. Around 15 – 20 free activities are included each day, there is plenty to do!
However most of the people you interact with had a systemic and complete lack of knowledge about there own resort, minus one wise lady. The weirdest example regarded their confusion over a resort fee, that according to one description would need to be paid in order to do some of the activities. We went back to the tiny front desk (valet), and after too much discussion, and the need for the agent to question her superior, it was understood that the resort fee was already included in our confirmation price, though not paid until checkout.
NO CELL DATA OR (reliable) WIFI. Came here for our honeymoon we can’t just totally check out! It is not advertised on their website that canyon walls and one rogue spire, and lack of technical solutions (repeaters) create an almost complete ‘off the grid’ cellular communications hole, but there you are. You cannot use your Cell in many of the rooms for Lastpass, Facebook, or financial two-​factor authentication. You must drive 3 miles to get your code, or give up. You can have them place long-​distance calls from a landline. There is a wifi network 2.5MB /​300k, but you sometimes cannot connect to it unless you are in their restaurant, which is over saturated as all guests realize this simultaneously.
The phones in our room were mis-​programmed so guest services got you to the front desk, tennis got you spa etc. I wanted to reach guest services but not a single person could tell me what # to dial to reach them! That everyone is new here (Mar-​2016) is the common excuse for being totally clueless, good service is never making excuses. I finally figured out that dialing 0 (aka operator) is in fact their guest services. Should be simple enough to train this.
Don’t expect new kids to do the important work of great service, and this resort will truly be able to come into its own.

I can’t believe how long it took us to come back here! A few years ago we were staying in a not mentionable place in Sedona. After spending a night there I called Amex and asked them to recommend a hotel/​resort. They set us up at this fabulous resort the enchantment. It’s difficult to describe this place without smiling. It’s tranquility, understated atmosphere, comfort, beauty, red rock paysage as far as you eye can see… It’s a must experience if you are in this part of the world.

If there were more stars I would give it more. This resort is class from every angle possible. It is located back in the canyon, in one of the most beautiful locations in the world, surrounded by the red rock of Sedona. The entire staff understands accommodation and luxury, taking the extra step to support you. The food, while priced as a resort, is worth the money. You actually get fine dining for fine dining prices. They provided many things to do, including some of the most beautiful hikes in the region. Their spa is beautiful and spiritual. The rooms were great and had many options. And even when we faced a challenge, we were overwhelmed by the response and support we received. This is truly a resort well worth the money. You will leave relaxed and in awe of this beautiful place.

Spectacular setting in the Tii Gavo restaurant, facing red rock mountains. The room is rather loud. That is, there are few materials that absorb sound, so the din of conversation and restaurant noises are somewhat louder than it could be. The wine, IMHO, is priced a bit high.

We stayed here to celebrate our anniversary and it was perfection from start to finish. We were in an adorable 1 bedroom Casita with a full kitchen, fireplace, and laundry room, plus a designated covered parking spot. The staff is amazing, attentive, and friendly. We were greeted and given a brief tour prior to checkin. The restaurants and fireplaces are so romantic and perfect for cuddling with a loved one at night. The resort has all sorts of amenities and activities. We took the mountain bikes in a trail ride, went on a hike, used the hot tubs, etc. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a place to stay in Sedona.

If you want to get pampered and be surrounded by raw beauty, then I highly recommend staying at Enchantment Resort in Sedona AZ! Not only are you in a beautiful location, but the facilities and grounds are wonderful! The resort offers a variety of fun activities and of course there is the incredible spa! My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a weekend getaway, and we were not disappointed at all. Our room has an amazing view and everything we ate was superb! All of the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. We stayed for 2.5 days and we felt as if we were able to do so much in the short time. I would love to go back and stay longer.

From the moment we arrived, Enchantment lived up to my expectations! Jen, a wonderfully, warm and welcoming (alliteration anyone?) first impression — you can’t get better. I felt like I was being greeted by a friend, to her home — hope you hear this management, she’s a keeper! And, it was cold and dark — she warmed us up immediately. (I tipped her for her good work, and she told me it was her FIRST tip! People, really?)
Anyway — the grounds are amazing — John (friendly, fantastic) guided our car from his golf cart, unloaded us, and then took its back to the lobby/​bar — where we had a great evening in the Che Ah Chi bar. Again, another outstanding employee in Sean — an engaging and funny bartender. My daughter and I sat there for hours, drinking, eating some wonderful food (peppers, asparagus, salad) and drank martini’s expertly prepared. There is really something special about a good bartender — it can make or break your experience of a «place». Sean was perfect. (So great in fact that we went to the more casual restaurant bar late the next night for our nightcap, as we knew he was there.) That chef at Che Ah Chi makes the BEST cheese plate we have ever had (and we live in SF and the Sonoma Wine Country so we are spoiled!). The chef also makes her own mustard and it was crack… Sean even packed some for us to take back to our room. LOL (see photo of empty cheese board, sorry, but we dug in, and you should too.)
Our room was beautifully appointed, very clean and comfortable. I love when there is both coffee AND half and half — at this kind of property, I don’t want powdered, fake, coconut crappy creamer — and Enchantment provided! We had views from both windows, and since we were only in town for 2 days, and it POURED, HAILED and we had lightening and thunderstorms, our view became that much more important.
I’ve been to Enchantment many times (4?) over the last 15 years and it just gets better. The new spa is gorgeous — relaxing, open, comfortable. Indoor and outdoor pools and fireplaces — everyone lounging and reading books. Ahhhhh. The spa restaurant is a revelation — we ate breakfast there both days, that chef is fantastic at making both healthy and tasty food! Our server Beverly was a delight — happy, efficient, yes!
The hiking in adjacent Boynton Canyon is so easy — you walk out a gate (secure, thank you) at the back of the property and voila — you are «in» the red rocks.
Best place in Sedona — and I’m picky! Can’t WAIT to return!

Heaven on Earth! What a spectacular location! You are surrounded by red rock cliffs. The layout of the hotel is quite large so be prepared to walk. Wear appropriate shoes. The staff was very efficient with the exception of the early-​morning complimentary coffee stand: late every morning! But otherwise the spa was beautiful and I loved my treatment (a wrap). Our room was nice, albeit a bit dated. The sheets on the bed were wonderful, however. I’d go back and spend more time to explore.

My husband and I had the good fortune to stay at the Enchantment Resort a few weeks ago as part of the husband’s work retreat and wow, what a beautiful place! Nestled against some of the red rock hills for which Sedona is famous, the Enchantment Resort boasts gorgeous scenery, top-​notch amenities, and lovely staff members, all of whom provided excellent service and attention. Our room was immaculate and our private patio overlooked the red rock hills. While the husband worked, I participated in a few of the many activities available; there are dozens of activities offered every day, ranging from nature walks and mountain bike rides to foam roller classes and Bosu sessions. I opted to check out the aqua fitness class (fun and refreshing at the same time) and the foam roller class (LOVED how I felt after the hour-​long stretch and roll class!). Instructors were friendly, fit, and fun.
The resort grounds are beautiful, clean, and expansive. You can request bellhops to pick you up and drop you off anywhere on the resort grounds in one of the many golf carts. If you get tired of being at the resort, you can drive to Sedona, which is about 10 minutes away. But why would you want to do that when you have so many things to do at the resort?

The best place I’ve ever stayed. We were in room 238 and the view was phenomenal. Service was excellent. Food was good and not overly priced. Very quiet and peaceful with a nice comfy bed. Main pool is huge but not too deep. There are also adult only pools available and a hot tub
The guacamole is fresh and delicious. The smoothies are refreshing. They offer packed food to take with you hiking but you need to order 15 hours in advance. This is nice since the resort is right on the Boynton Trail. They will also bring you raw food and a grill to cook on your balcony. They’ve thought of it all
Service is awesome. Wade gave us a tip on a Groupon deal that saved us a couple hundred dollars on an off road vehicle rental. They bring you plenty of ice and complimentary water. They also bring oj in the morning
They also have a world class spa. I could keep going with everything they offer, but I’m off to hike the Boynton Trail!

It’s the most casual of the restaurants, I actually sat in a big leather chair and ate a bowl of soup in my lap. But there are some tables, sofas, indoor and outdoor.
You can order any food, from any of the other restaurants, too.
The view is awesome, the service from Ashley was super sweet. The people serving the food are a little sloppy, plopping the soup down and asking I needed anything, and I said, uh, a napkin?
The black bean soup was delicious. The next night we had the Butchers Block (meats, jams, pickled veggies) and the fish crudo. We thought generous portions.
Be sure to ask about their homemade sodas, we liked the pear.
