Just wonderful, loved the Chalet. Access to the Slim Shady Trail on property. We have stayed twice and will return. Smores are provided nightly by the gas fire pit.

This is my second visit to the resort, and again I was very happy with the cleanliness and overall upkeep of the grounds. The staff is friendly and helpful. While the resort sets just outside the trendy town of Sedona it boost the most spectacular views in all the valley with unobstructed panaramas from other developments. This resort is perfect for mountain bikers and hikers alike. The best trials start just outside your door.

If you are a mountain biker this is the place! The swimming pool and BBQ back right up to the private trail entrance, with unmatched views of Bell Rock, Courthouse, and Castle Rock. Walk to dinner, the Bell Rock Trail Head, or the local Sedona Bike and Bean for a coffee and a bike. The staff (Tracy) is very friendly. This is not the city slicker 5-​star resort destination. This is a clean little getaway for the outdoorsy family or riding group. Awesome for an evening fire-​pit by the pool, and a little star gazing or moonlight hiking, not to mention a small wedding or anniversary party.

Just perfect. Nothing fancy just pure Sedona style. The view from the chalets, the proximity to top hiking trails, the fire pit adjacent to the chalets, the hot tubs, oh and the provided s’mores by the staff. Excellent place to stay for the Sedona experience.

Agree with all of the comments on the amazing views from anywhere on the property. And agree with comment on the name being «resort» may be incorrect but that is something I can easily get over.
The property has done some upgrades since we were here 2 years ago. New bed, new curtains. Large rooms (have not stayed in the chalets). Lots of closet and drawer space.
«G» is the end room. Quiet but has the bike racks outside the door so this may/​may not be ideal depending on whether you are a biker.
Very quiet and relaxing both times we have been here.
We used the hot tubs and fire pit every chance we got.
Hike to Bell Rock from the property is convenient.
Shower is great, tons of hot water and high shower head.
Like having a fridge so I don” t have to rely on finding restaurants if I don” t feel like it.
Walking is very doable to much of Oak Creek. There is an IGA grocery store a few blocks away. A number of different restaurants in the area and many are really good.
Short and scenic drive to Sedona.
Overall the location, staff and comfort make this our go to place when visiting Sedona.

Wow. After all these years, the Red Agave Resort just keeps getting better. I’ve been coming here since the mid-1990’s when it was called the Quail Ridge Resort. With each passing year and subsequent owner, the resort just keeps improving. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The chalets were clean and comfortable. The grounds were well cared for. The pool was warm and clean. The two hot tubs were nice, but could have been a little hotter.
If you are a mountain biker, this is the place to stay. There are now mountain bike trails exiting into the National Forest right from the resort property (the Slim Shady Trail). From that trail, you can then interconnect with miles of trails spanning from Oak Creek all the way north to Sedona.
I can’t wait to come back to the Red Agave Resort again next year!

Stayed here on a girls retreat. Had a 2 bedroom, (one was a loft) mini kitchen/​living room chalet. What a gorgeous view of huge rock right out the front. Courtyard was too relaxing and beautiful! They have mini bbqs, 2 hot tubs and pool, fire pit each nite and they supply s’mores and grilling forks. The hummingbirds love it too as feeders, flowers and water features are in the courtyard as well. Lovely paths and vistas. I felt so relaxed there. I looked forward to getting up early with a cup of coffee and watching the wildlife. The staff was so nice. Their web site doesn’t do it justice. Look forward to staying there again!

This was probably the best place I have ever stayed. Staff was great, location was great, rooms were great. Can’t wait to go back!

I’m between 3 and 4 stars here. This location could not be beat! Hands down fabulous to walk out your door with a cup of coffee and see that view, walk right onto a trail, etc. The chalets have little kitchens. The bedding left a little to be desired: old lumpy mattress and old comforter. We stayed over Thanksgiving weekend 2012. I love that there was a kitchen with a few things in it. If you want something specific, you should bring it. We were able to grill out and make the rest of dinner no problem, cooked breakfast, etc. It’s plenty close to Sedona, without putting you in a tiny motel room for the same price.
Here is why I didn’t give it 5 stars. There were several big groups there, some that have been coming for years and years. That’s cool. But, they kind of acted like they owned the place… as in they were really loud and they were everywhere. You couldn’t just sit out in the quiet at night, you had a lot of chatty company. And they had RADIOS playing outside well after 10pm! That? Was NOT COOL.
The second hot tub was out of order, so that was a crowded experience that involved a lot of kids and adults doing cannon balls into the larger cold pool. Our whole experience there was more akin to staying in a family camp ground than a resort. I guess that atmosphere is not bad, if that’s what you are expecting. I just wasn’t expecting that… or paying a family camp ground price.
Also, I was frustrated that I left my phone charger and the staff wouldn’t go look for it because someone else was already in our chalet. They never returned my calls when they said they would. Everyone in our party remembered the phone charger still plugged in and yet… the staff never saw it… because they didn’t look for three of four days. It was handled poorly. I was just glad it wasn’t, I don’t know, my wedding ring or something.
I will probably go back here at some point, so the reasons it doesn’t get 5 stars are… well, I’ll get over them and I’m willing to give it another chance. It’s a good place over all. And, like someone else said, «location, location, location.»

Initially hooked by a Livingsocial deal, will return one day again because I fell in love.. . Awwww :-)
The deal was for a three night stay in one of their chalets and a bottle of wine. The chalet has two bedrooms (one master downstairs, two beds upstairs), one bathroom, a living room with a couch, TV, dining area and kitchen complete with stoves.
The resort amenities itself has a pool (which we did not use because of the time of year we went = brrrrrrrr) and a firepit with complimentary ‘smores nightly. It has a great view and is right next to a trail. Dogs are allowed with a $ 25 pet deposit fee and we took three dogs!
Sedona is breathtakingly beautiful, and your heart skips a beat when the sun comes up and paints the mountains red in the morning. The Red Agave Resort is located a little bit further from downtown Sedona so it’s a small drive or bike for anybody who wants to go shopping, eat, or any of the touristy tours. Perfect peace and quiet for me though :-)

Resort is a bit of a stretch for Red Agave Resort but it is a lovely property, nonetheless. It does not have any of the amenities of a traditional resort. It should be called Red Agave Motel or Red Agave Lodge.
There is no better location! It is right outside Sedona, so you avoid some of that traffic and don’t have to pay Sedona’s higher hotel tax. Our view was absolutely stunning. We awoke each morning to a view of beautiful Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte (something like that). It was so awe-​inspiring seeing those 275 million year old rocks right THERE every day.
The accommodations are modest, if not dated but I felt that it was clean and the bed was comfy. My husband felt the room design wasted space but what can you do? We had a full kitchen with microwave and flat screen TV that we barely watched. I recall catching some of «Fifth Element» and the Sedona Channel – which I suggest you check out.
There’s a refreshing pool and two HOT Jacuzzis. There was a burn ban in place, so we didn’t get any S’mores around the fire pit that others experienced.
The front desk staff was pretty nice. No one cleaned our room and we had to request clean towels and pool towels. I found that strange for a «resort». We are not high maintenance, travel on a budget and rarely stay in the room but I need information on when the room will or will NOT be cleaned and where I can get clean towels. I prefer to have that information at check-​in rather than returning to my room covered in red dirt desperate for a clean towel.
I like this place for the view, location and price. I consider it moderately priced, not particularly cheap. Also, I needed to wash a load of clothes and front desk lady was an angel. You can wash and dry ONE load for free. That was so awesome for us.
If you’re persnickety and high maintenance, don’t stay here. You have other options but if you like to get in the wind, have a cozy bed and not pay through the nose, welcome home, my friend! Oh, and you must go to Famous Pizza right around the way. Delicious!

I had booked this place eight nights, but left after three. The reason I left was that I was told on my last day, I would be getting an «upgrade» to a chalet and I would have to pack all of my stuff up by 11 and they would probably have the chalet ready by 3. I was annoyed because I was told I would have to spend my last day of my vacation packing up, not having a room, and scheduling my day around their schedule, unpacking for a night and repacking the next morning. Fortunately, another guest had asked about extending her stay so I was able to get a full refund for the nights I didn’t stay there and didn’t have to get into an argument over it.
The grounds are very nice. There is a pool, hot tub, grills, and red rocks are visible from the rooms. They have two lodging options. One type is standalone chalets that look pretty interesting, but I never actually saw the inside. I had one of the studio efficiencies, that is a true bed and breakfast since you can literally roll out to bed and cook some scrambled eggs. The place was clean and in really good condition. It’s a good place for people who bike since you can get to trails right from there and people who don’t want to go out to eat during their stay.

The views from anywhere on the property were absolutely amazing!!!
We were in the Fools Hollow Chalet. Parking is available directly behind it. There was a grill and two chairs on the ‘side yard’ of our Chalet. Though, a patio table would have been nice.
The chalet and property were clean and very well maintained.
We loved that we could access the Bell Rock/​Courthouse Butte Trails from the property. Walk them or bring/​rent Mountain bikes!
The pool was closed but we made use of the jacuzzi.
The s’mores at night by the firepit were a nice perk for the boys.
You have the convenience of restaurants and a Circle K nearby. It was also a short drive to Slide Rock State Park where we enjoyed the scenery and hiking the trails.
Best way to describe this resort… LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION!
I really could have rated this property 5 stars. My only complaint, if you could even call it that, is the positioning of the beds in the Chalet. All of us hit our heads on the beams! Be VERY careful getting in and out of bed!!! Maybe adding headboards to the beds wouldn’t be a bad idea… LOL!
We’ll DEFINITELY stay there again!

We’re two days in to a four night stay. While my hubby is working (yes, they have wifi) and the kids are kicking a football around in the large grassy area, I decided to write my review.
This place is great! We’re in «Apache Leap» chalet. It doesn’t have the best front door views (pick one of the 3 chalets by the office for that). But, we have a great view from the kitchen table. And, it’s an end unit. So, I think we’ll request this one again next time.
If you need to work while you’re here, there are no phones (hubby sometimes uses them for conference calls). But, cell reception for both Sprint and Tmobile is great.
There are family-​friendly hiking trails right off the grounds. There are 2 hot tubs and a heated pool. Every night there is a camp fire and the fixings for s’mores are provided.
The kitchenette is larger than I expected based on reviews I read on trip advisor. We grilled steaks one night on one of the gas grills and found everything we needed in the cabinets (pan for heating twice baked potatoes, salad bowl and tongs, cutting board, etc).
Everything was ready for our stay… including 2 bottles of wine! Ice was waiting in trays in the freezer.
We haven’t used it, but there are 2 bike rental places w/​in walking distance. That’ll be on a trip when someone can watch the kids.
So far, we’ve eaten at Red Chopstick (good chicken lo mein and really nice people) and Elote Café (SOOO good).
We will certainly be back!

My review for the Red Agave Resort is long overdue. My fiancé and I were there exactly a month ago, and we spent two nights there.
I stumbled upon this place when I saw the LivingSocial deal for one of their 2-​story chalets, but by the time we called to reserve one, the deals were all sold out. Seeing how disappointed I was, he decided to book one of the studios there instead just so we could stay there. That was one of the best lodging decisions we’ve ever made.
After getting there, we realized that Red Agave wasn’t actually IN Sedona, rather, it was in a smaller town just outside of Sedona, called Oak Creek. I actually preferred that so we could stay out of the hub-​bub of Sedona during tourist season (which is really year-​round in Sedona). It was only about a 15-​minute drive into Sedona, which was very do-​able.
After checking in and being shown our room, we were so pleasantly surprised by the beautiful view of the red rocks from our studio window/​glass door. We were SO happy!
Aside from the great view, the amenities of the studio were great: queen size bed, kitchenette with dishes, little dining table, and a even drawers to put your stuff. Oh yeah, and one big thing for us: it was dog-​friendly. There is a small one-​time fee for bringing a dog, and we were a-​okay with that.
So all the studios and chalets surround a landscaped courtyard that included a pool, nice grassy area, and plenty of outdoor furniture. My fiancé and I took advantage of the courtyard at night, eating and drinking, and staring up at the starry sky. It was so relaxing and refreshing to be able to see the stars in the non-​light-​polluted sky. It was such a nice getaway.
There was one aspect of this resort that we didn’t take advantage, but I saw other guests doing it: mountain-​biking. The courtyard of the resort leads right into some mountain-​biking trails through the red rocks. People were having a blast. Maybe we’ll try it sometime in the future.
I definitely will suggest Red Agave Resort to those who plan on staying overnight in or around Sedona. We’ll more than likely stay here again the next time we visit.

So you are staying in the Village of Oak Creek and not downtown Sedona, but the views are breathtaking, walking distance to good restaurants, and the view from our room is amazing. Friendly staff, kitchenettes in the rooms, a haven for bikers. So glad this was our destination, would come back in a minute!

The resorts location is amazing!!! You can literally walk through the gate and hike or bike to some of the most famous Red Rock formations. (Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte) The resort is a hotspot for hikers and bikers. But, well designed for just relaxing.
The rooms are not fancy, but nice and well stocked with all amenities such as large fridge, stove, coffee machine, microwave, utensils and so on. The grounds are immaculate and have several spots to enjoy the views, sip coffee or to meditate. There is heated pool and two Jacuzzi’s for soothing your muscles after a long day or hiking. The hosts are friendly and can assist with any adventure you would like to pursue. Every night they light a fire and supply the ingredients for Smores.
There are several restaurants located within walking distance. We would recommend the following, Tara Thai, Famous Pizza and The Red Rocks Café for breakfast. Also, if eating in is your thing. The resort has several gas grills onsite for your grilling pleasure and the supermarket is only two blocks away.
We found a vortex within 2500ft from the resort, following the main trail to the first formation on the right. Cross the old river bed and start climbing the backside you will observe several small twisted cedar/​pine type trees. Once there, you should feel the calmness. Also, look for the huge hanging rock, this is another great place for meditation.
