Sedona Cake Couture

I don’t have enough room to write all the wonderful things I want to say about Sedona Cake Couture. I had heard about them from watching Total Divas, where they mentioned that Brie Bella had her cake done by them, along with many other celebrities. I read all of the reviews and I knew that I needed them to make my wedding cake. Andrea is so nice and welcoming, I didn’t have an idea of what I wanted for my cake, but she made it so easy to decide with her delicious cake tasting. We tried the lemon curd, chocolate ganache with espresso and the raspberry cake. We ended choosing a three tier round cake with lemon on the bottom, and the top two layers being the chocolate ganache with espresso. Were not big fans of fondant, but Andrea makes a white chocolate fondant that is to die for, it is so thin and smooth, nothing like hard flavorless fondant I’m used too. I received so many compliments on the cake, everyone loved it. They delivered the cake on time and were so professional. Andrea went out of her way to make me the perfect cake, she went above and beyond, and even helped us get our caterer for our reception. What a wonderful store and owner. Would highly recommend to anyone!!!

I have been a customer since the store opened, and this has to be one of the best special places to visit in Arizona, if not the West. It is not just the amazingly creative cupcakes, small cakes, brownies and other treats. The owner treats each person with a smile; remember she is multi-​tasking and doing baking and decorating. This is the «go-​to» place for locals as well as anyone visiting Sedona and seeking a unique, memorable culinary experience.

Do not waste your money here. I had to wait ten minutes before anyone came to the counter to help me. I then ordered a small brownie caramel pecan bar that was way over priced. The brownie cut the top of my mouth and was definitely not fresh. The caramel on top had way to much salt in it to the point were I wanted to barf. I also ordered some cookies that were 3 dollars a piece. The nasty salty caramel was inside them mixed with some other random stuff I do not remember. The cookies were so overly sugary and buttery they left lots of grease all over my hands. I normally feel bad throwing out food. However in this case I would rather waste some pastries than puke all over my car. Biggest waste of twelve dollars. Go to the whole foods bakery next door in my opinion they are way better!!! Also more friendly. Very fake customer service at this bakery.

HOLY MANGOLICIOUS!!! I happened upon this fantastic gem on a business trip. I was greeted by the owner (very nice lady) who was closing shop, but invited me in to make a purchase from her single serve dessert case. I picked an AMAZING mango/​passion fruit cheesecake cups. PURE BLISS is all I can promise you, when you have the pleasure of having one. The shop appeared to be very clean and well designed. I noticed very elegant and elaborated decorated cakes on display. This shop is no joke. You’re getting some serious dedication and love poured into these desserts!!! Kudos to an awesome product!!!

Sedona Cake Couture was recommended to us and I am so happy we chose to get our wedding cake here. Andrea is very nice and extremely talented! We met with her and discussed what we wanted and she designed and made the most beautiful cake for us! The best part of all; it tasted delicious! We had many compliments from our guests. Cake Couture is clearly the best quality and the most professional cake vendor in Sedona. We are food and wine people and feel Andreas resume speaks for itself. She is not just a fantastic pastry chef but an absolute artist. Her designs go above and beyond and she makes her creations seem effortless. Her personality is of a person you want to get to know and befriend, and the quality of her cakes are that of a 5 star establishment. Once we tasted Cake Couture we knew we’d be in good hands. Andreas designs are gorgeous but whats inside is heaven! We will be back to cake couture for sure!

I ordered my wedding cake without tasting it because we live four hours away, I picked one right off the website, Buttercream series Vanilla cake with lemon curd filling, The cake was beautiful just like the picture, but the taste was OUT OF THIS WORLD, so moist, not too much frosting and just the right amount of lemon. This was the best cake I ever had. Andrea knows how to make a cake !!
I got so many complements on the cake from our guests. My family loves cakes so this made me feel like I nailed it. My new husband and I ate the top of the cake the day after the wedding. NO way would it make it for a year in the freezer. We will just have to go back and get another one next August. Thank you Sedona Cake Couture.

We got married in October of 2014 and after reading reviews and researching some of the contests and celebrities who have had cakes made by Andrea I was more than excited to have her design our wedding cake. I should have known to take my business somewhere else when I had 2 separate appointments to meet with her cancelled last minute. Finally after numerous attempts to reschedule we met for a tasting and to discuss price. The shop is very cute but the customer service was horrendous. My mother and I were treated like we were third class citizens and not worth her time. Even through the horrible treatment at the shop I insisted on going with this bakery because of its numerous high profile endorsements.
About a month before our wedding I received a messege from the bakery saying that we still needed to pay the balance on our account (which was over $ 1,000) and that if we didn’t pay it our cake wouldn’t be made. Problem is… that was the SECOND time they had called claiming we hadn’t paid them. The first time… all the woman had to do, was look in her ledger and verify that, YES we had already paid. So again, I called them back and explained the situation, but this time the woman claimed that there was nothing in her ledger showing that we already paid and that our cake wasn’t going to be delivered. Only after I asked to talk to whoever was in charge and described the situation, was it determined (Yet again) that we had already paid the balance on our account and no further payment was needed.
Just about the only good thing I can say about the whole experience is that our wedding planner said that delivery and set up was a breeze. The cake was beautiful and I had a lot of compliments on its appearance. When it came time to cut the cake it was a nightmare. The cake was so hard it took myself, my husband and one of our caterers all pushing down on the knife to make it through. I look like I’m about to hulk-​out in all my wedding photos because it took so much effort… just the memories I was looking forward to. On top of that the actually cake was DISGUSTING. It tasted like it had been baked a month prior, and left out to dry and crumble. It wasn’t moist AT ALL, and the cream filling wasn’t creamy at all. I was completely mortified to serve it to my guests.
Just like with anything you are planning for your big day, I suggest you do research and take advice from those who have used those services. This is just my experience.

This review is way overdue! I got married in September 2014, I loved working with Andrea! She is professional responsive. She helped me prick out the most beautiful wedding cake design and they helped me stick to my budget. I live in Chicago and I planned my wedding myself, (so it was a little stressful at times) but Andrea helped me with last minute details and everything came together beautifully the day off. She is so creative and I’m so happy I got to work with her. I did my homework when I was picking my vendors, I couldn’t have been happier with Sedona cake couture.

Our family travels very frequently but one of our annual trips is our summer trip to Sedona. We are a sweets loving family as well and have made it a new culture to try different cupcakes everywhere we travel. We googled/​yelped cupcake shops in sedona and found this place. Have to admit the presentation, style and decorative cakes were incredibly beautiful which got all of us very excited. The cupcakes we got (purchased 5) were definitely different and pretty delicious. Only downfall was the unpleasant customer service we received. Though we purchased cupcakes we really couldn’t wait to exit the store. After reading some of the reviews on Unilocal,it is quite unfortunate that such a beautiful store lacks quality service.

If you love sweet, you’ll love this place. Went in for an afternoon treat and we were greeted by owner who made recommendations on their great selection of cup cakes and more. Their cup cakes are more than just frosting and cake, they really are tasty. If you aren’t looking for something really-​really sweat make sure you ask for a recommendation on a lighter selection. We’ll be sure to visit again next year.

My wife and I visited Sedona with friends and family. We hosted a party for 20 and used Sedona Cake Couture for our desserts. To say they were all fabulous was an understatement! The cupcakes were amazing, and the specialty brownies were delicious!!! Everyone raved about the selection and the taste! We also had a chocolate cake with dark chocolate mousse covered in beautiful chocolate leaves that was the best we ever tasted. and beautiful as well. Andrea was so helpful and made our party extra special. We look forward to visiting the bakery again during our next visit!

I emailed Andrea about having her design my wedding cake; I had read good reviews and was excited to work with her. That being said, this is a review about customer service because after being jerked around so many times I gave up and took my business elsEwhere. I live in Phoenix so I emailed back and forth with her trying tirelessly to set up a simple cake tasting. On three different occasions I had a confirmed day and time to come up, only to have the appointment cancelled at the last minute. The last straw was when she cancelled my appointment because she decided to do a photo shoot. Either she doesn’t value anyone’s time but her own, or she’s terrible at keeping her calender up to date. Either way I felt like I was treated very unprofessionally.

These cupcakes are out of this world! Cute little shoppe and great staff. Gluten free cakes, brownies, and cookies! I was in heaven! Really rich, be warned but you are definitely in for a satisfied sweet tooth! Thank you for your generosity, my friend and I are more than pleased with our selection and the pistachio Italian rum cake was delightful.

I called with my idea, a combination of a few of her cake decorations and colors, she said great, and it was!!!
More than great actually, the elopement cake was stunning, and since I wasn’t expecting a wedding cake to be moist and yummy… What a delightful surprise!

As a banquet coordinator for one of the busiest restaurants in Sedona I’ve had the pleasure of planning and preparing dozens and dozens of wedding receptions. I have seen all different cakes imaginable! I wish I could give Andrea ten stars for her professionalism, her extraordinary creations and the quality of her craft. She is an artist! Not only has every cake she has made for all the brides I’ve worked with looked amazing, but they have always exceeded expectations in taste as well. For a once in a lifetime cake experience there is no bakery I would recommend more than Sedona Cake Couture and no other baker than Andrea. You will not be disappointed!!!

Unilocal doesn’t allow enough room for me to write about my complete experience so I will put it in a nutshell and after reading you can decide for yourself. Sedona is short on bakers so a bride doesn’t have many options. Hire a baker in nearby Flagstaff, or Phoenix instead. Also, at the time I write this, there are 7 filtered reviews; I implore you read them. I can completely relate to somebody frustrated enough to sign up for Unilocal just to vent about their experience with this business.
The two things I despise more than anything in this world are people who lie and take advantage of others and get away with it. I’ve experienced both of these things with this business, and the owner has attacked me personally. She also responds this way to other brides on other wedding review websites, so if that happens on here, know that I am not the least bit surprised.
I’ve spoken to some locals about the baker, Andrea, and they agree with me that you never know which personality you are going to get with her. She’s either going to be very kind (if you worship her and have a lot of $ to spend), or she may be very rude and dishonest, which is what happened in my case. But no bride goes unscathed during wedding planning so if this is the worst I’ve had to deal with, fine.
When I first called the bakery to speak to her about my cake she was a bit snippy with me. I chalked it up to her having a bad day. We began working on a design that fit within my budget and a contract was sent out. I sent a check for half the amount and later paid the remainder over the phone with my debit card.
Later I decided to surprise my fiancé by adding in subtle tributes to our favorite band since we are very bonded over our love for them. I asked Andrea if she could put part of the band’s logo — if she could not do a more elaborate design of alchemy symbols from their latest album. She responded that she was booked. I was disappointed but I also couldn’t ignore the nagging feeling that she was being dishonest. After expressing this to a family member they offered to call the bakery for me to see if this were true or not.
They were told by Lyle (who, by the way, is way too nice and sweet of a guy to be working in that place) that my wedding date was wide open for ANY cake.
I e-​mailed Andrea and asked her to let me know if anything had opened up to give her one more chance to tell the truth; she said she would let me know and left it at that. At that point I asked my family member to call and ask for a contract as proof. A few days later I had a contract for a three-​tiered $ 700.00 cake in my mailbox.
I sent Andrea an e-​mail to cancel my contract due to her dishonesty. She denied everything and gave me a dishonest story about how she only works on certain designs and her assistant works on certain things and they wouldn’t be able to give me what I wanted. Now, I’m no professional but I’ve been baking and decorating things since I was 3. So I refuse to believe that the assistant of a Food Network Challenge winner has a skill-​level lower than mine and can’t complete a VERY simple design.
After I told Andrea I was in possession of the contract for the $ 700.00 cake, a check for $ 50.00 arrived in my mailbox with no communication or explanation. I thought she was doing the right thing and sending me my 25% deposit back and would be refunding the remainder to my debit card. A week later, still nothing. I e-​mailed her in regards to this and she responded that I had only paid them $ 100.00. Well, I was in town so I took a copy of my bank statement and showed it to her directly.
That was when she began to argue with me that I hadn’t paid her anything other than $ 100.00 and then the story changed to, «If you sent us a check we never received it.»
I got a hold of my old bank, had them research my closed account and fax the check to my hotel. We drove back to the hotel, got the copy, and took it back to Andrea.
When I presented it to her she took the paperwork from me and said she would send me the check. I asked her why she couldn’t just write me one in the store, she told me her office was at another location. When I responded with, «how convenient». She just looked at me coldly and unleashed a string of personal insults at me. She told me that I was a negative, horrible, mean person, and that my marriage would not last, etc…
Also, they had a credit card machine on the counter and refused to refund my debit card.
Like I said, only in a nutshell.
I’d say you have a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ chance of being treated well by this business. I also believe that the higher your budget, the nicer she gets.

Outstanding. Truly, emphatically, as good as it gets!
Despite the fact that we were planning a tiny wedding (under twenty people) and that we called less than a month before the wedding, Andrea booked us for a tasting right away and showered us with time and attention. Taste was paramount for us. Andrea helped us to figure out exactly what we wanted, and her wisdom was right on: the cake was stunning. And it was delicious beyond belief!!! Our guests agreed that Andrea’s cake was among the best they’d ever tasted! And the price was very reasonable — with Andrea’s extraordinary resume I’d been nervous! We ordered a two tier cake for 25 people. The cake was ready on time. Guests of the groom transported the cake for us from Sedona to our wedding site down a dirt road outside Clarkdale. The cake was solidly built and never shifted, arriving at the site in perfect condition.
Her shop is marvelous, with inspirations all around, just beautifully presented, from model cakes to photos. Her bakery case is filled with extraordinarily beautiful yet reasonably priced delicacies. This would be the ideal place to go to pick up something gorgeous for a special event, and I will definitely keep that in the back of my mind. Although the wedding is over, we will be returning here!!!

I met with Andrea a couple of months before my wedding. I stopped by her shop without an appointment and although she was busy she made time for me and I was truly impressed by the flavors of her cakes. Many compliments from the guests at my wedding too. It was beautiful and everyone wanted to taste all the different tiers because each was different and equally awesome. Thank you!
