History

Established in 1985.

Celebrating thirty years in 2015! Cascadia Eye (formerly North Cascade Eye Associates) began in the fall of 1985. NCEA’s current administrator, Sheri Saldivar, was the first employee, as Dr. Nannette Crowell and her dentist husband established brand-​new eye and dental practices together in the empty blue buildings next to United General Hospital.

From those humble beginnings, Cascadia Eye/​NCEA now includes three locations, eight doctors, three full-​service optical shops, and a fully accredited surgery center to provide truly world class eye care in Skagit Valley and beyond.

Business Owner

After completing her undergraduate degree in dietetics at Loma Linda University, Dr. Crowell continued at Loma Linda University for medical school, internship, and ophthalmology residency. With her training complete, Dr. Crowell, along with dentist-​husband Dr. Rodney Brandt and new three week old baby Alexandra Joy, moved to Sedro Woolley and started her ophthalmology practice. In order to keep both their family and their careers in focus, Dr. Crowell and her dentist-​husband set up a mom-​and-​pop office, and organized their schedules so they both had plenty of time to play with Alex.

Dr. Crowell focuses her attention on clinic work rather than surgery, but it is important to her that her patients are cared for by local eyecare specialists in every aspect of the eye. As founder of Cascadia Eye/​NCEA, Dr. Crowell has put together a team of professionals to meet this goal, including award-​winning surgeon Dr. Dan Siapco and cornea specialist Dr. Carlindo Pereira, practice partners.
