Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk

Went to Herb Chambers to check out their cars and hopefully buy one. My boyfriend and I were greeted at the door by the salesman Cliff. Immediately upon meeting Cliff he did not seem interested in working with us, and we both had the impression that he judged us based on our age (23 and 24.) Now, this was my first time buying a «newer car,» and I wanted to make sure that I was not going to be screwed because of my young age or being a female. So my boyfriend and I started with the lowest price range that we were considering and asked lots of questions about our options. We started at 10,000 and there was not many options that I was interested in. Cliff scrolled up and down the screen and said this is all there is. We were willing to go up on price. But Cliff did not seem interested in making a sale at all! He then honestly insulted me by asking if I even have established credit and asking if I have money to put down. Well yes why else would I be looking?! We were turned off from his approach and attitude right there and then, and even though I was wanted to look at the vehicles in the $ 12 – 15,000 range, I decided to take my business else where because of this salesman. I started low knowing I would go up, but wanted a salesperson who would work with me and go through my options. Cliff was rude, and obviously not interested so we left. I went to another dealer where I was treated respectfully and talked to openly, and then put $ 5000 down and bought a 2013 Civic. So why this dealership may have decent cars and I’m sure decent sales people, Cliff was horrible and biased towards younger adults. Probably wont go there ever again now.

Called to confirm a vehicle was still available. Got there after driving for an hour and was informed the vehicle had been sold. Bait and switch.

John Mitchell helped me find the perfect car for me! & his outstanding customer service skills made him an amazing sales associate to work with! I am very thankful for everything he did for me! Had a 5-​star experience with Rancier Matos at Herb Chambers Honda in Seekonk. From test drive to purchase, the process was smooth, no pressure, professional and courteous. Rancier took his time (during two test drives) showing me the car and the many awesome features it has, he even took my old clunker off my hands. I am so happy with my new 2016 Honda HRV, could not have asked for a smoother or more pleasant experience. If you’re in the market for a new car, Herb Chambers is your dealer and Rancier Matos is your guy! Thanks as well to the rest of the team Danielle for follow-​up calls when I set up and after my test drive, and Tom the finance manager. Would definitely recommend this dealership.

Welp. Was there 3x for the same issue… And it still did not get fixed!
But they did try… They also offered me a courtesy loaner vehicle the first few times… but then when the same problem arose at a later time they refused.
I’d say most of the service advisors try to help but sometimes I’m sure it comes down to a matter of dollars and cents.
They do offer Unilocalers a deal on oil change which I’m sure I will take advantage of the next time I need it done.
I wouldn’t say I run to Honda of Seekonk, but if needed I think there are alright…

I recently went to Honda Seekonk to purchase a used Mercedes, I was not sure if I wanted a C class or E class but decided on a E class after looking at a few cars. I told Dave the vehicle I wanted discussed price and he pulled a «carfax» to prove condition of the car. Unfortunatly due to some credit issues I was not able to get an approval until the next day. Dave called me the next morning telling me they are still working on the deal but it will take some time. I know this was going to be a long process so I just waited and hoped for the best. 8 hours later Dave called me to tell me I was approved but needed a larger downpayment BUT the car I wanted was «picked up» by another dealer and not available. I expressed my dissapointment that the whole day I was trying to purchase the vehicle we agreed apon the day prior only to find out it was gone before I could get an approval.
I cant express how angry I am that the car I wanted to buy is now in Boston and priced 5 thousand dollars more than the price we had agreed on. Basically Herb Chambers cares more about 5 grand than there customers.

This dealership is a class act. They are professional, courteous and honest. We went to a number of dealerships looking for a new car, after mine was totaled in an accident. It was very busy in the store when we went and I almost left, that was until Cliff S. came over to help us. He was professional, not pushy and explained all my options in detail. We went and looked other places, but nothing compared to the service and deal that was available at Herb Chambers. Danielle in the online sales department was excellent as well. She followed up daily, but was not pushy. I was very impressed and we will be back in the future for car purchases. Thanks Cliff, Danielle and the entire team! A bonus, even though there is a long wait when buying a car when reviewing financing and such there is a nice, comfortable waiting area with snacks and drinks.

My sister and I were driving when we noticed that a panel on the side of her leased CRV had popped out. We pulled over, saw that it was just the clips popping out, but weren’t able to pop it back in. A quick google search showed that this was the closest open Honda dealership, a call was made, and an appointment was scheduled for 12:30. Once we arrived, we took the car right to the service center, pulled into the covered area, and spoke with the service department. They were able to pop the panel back in record time, there was a basket of apples, and a basket of less healthy snacks available, a TV, some chairs, and a brand new Accord to keep customers from being bored. The service is what impressed us the most, as we’ve been to other dealerships, where it takes over an hour to just get an oil change. They also explain everything here without being condescending, and make you feel appreciated. It’s worth the drive to come here.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Would NEVER buy a car from this dealership again. I tried getting in touch with them in May for a warranty question and again this past week. Every time I call I am sent to voicemail. Today I called and said I would hold until someone was available. I was waiting because I have questions. A receptionist picked up and said they were finishing up with a customer if I wanted to leave a message — to which I said no I would wait. Then a second receptionist picked up and rudely said «we have paged them and no one is picking up. They are with someone». Again I said I would wait. After waiting for 6 minutes and 30 seconds (which I would have waited however long it took) I was just routed to a voicemail which negates me wanting to wait. As if me wasting my time holding was affecting them.
Horror customer service!

This dealership is the absolute worst!
They’ll tell you that their prices are based on «system generated» numbers where they price their vehicles in comparison to the same make and model in the area. They’ll also tell you they factor in condition but that is NOT the case.
Yes, they do price their vehicles better than their competitors but they do not factor in condition of their vehicle. Their certified pre-​owned vehicles come w after market parts! They do not do a good job of conditioning their vehicles after obtaining them from their previous owner.
I’ve had a horrible experience thus far with trying to get them to correct the issue. Once you purchases your vehicle from them, do a complete inspection within 5 days to get your money back (which will prob end up happening). I’d pay extra for better service any day.
Not to mention, they get you w their after market warranty package. I would advise anyone who is smart not to take that one because some parts of the packages are non-​refundable and quite frankly not needed.

I had an appointment booked for service for an open recall on a power steering pump hose at 9 AM. When I spoke to the service rep, he asked me when I had made the appointment and I told him I scheduled 2 days earlier online and received a confirmation e-​mail. He said the problem with scheduling online is that no one confirms to see if the parts are in, that I should call in the future. If it had stated that on the website, I certainly would have called. Why offer an online scheduler out of convenience if it is a flawed system that no one follows up with?
The service rep then told me to have a seat while he checks with the parts dept to see if they have the part. After 25 minutes of waiting, the service rep came to tell me that they were still «scouring» to see if they can find the part. I continued to wait for another 30 minutes and then I sought to find my service rep to explain that I’ve already waited nearly an hour and I’m not going to wait any long for them to tell me they don’t have the part. He then went to check with the service dept and returned to tell me «we’re all set and we’re going to put it in line for service». Put it in line after more than an hour of waiting when I scheduled an appoint to avoid exactly that and to be placed behind the many other customers that have arrived since. I expressed my frustration and told them regardless, I need to get this done.
Now 3 hours after my scheduled appointment and no word on how progress is going to replace a hose, I once again seek out my service rep but spot him behind a wall enjoying what I assume to be his lunch. Back to the waiting area I go to wait until he is once again available. I ask if he can give me any idea when the car would be finished. His response was, «soon…I just checked on it. I guess they didn’t tell you how involved of a job it is.» Exactly!, No one told me how involved it was but the ONLY person I had spoken to at that point was the service rep! The same person telling me that no one told me how involved it was. Once again, I expressed my frustrations and had hoped to be free to leave with the car shortly.
45 minutes later and the sales rep comes to explain to me the job had just become more involved as the leak affected other parts. That the remainder of the job would take an additional hour. Clearly not what I wanted to hear but an unforeseeable problem. I explained that I needed the car to get to work soon. I never dreamed that I would need more than 4 hours to have a hose swapped out. I explained I was going to call my work to see if I can alter my schedule so the service job can be completed because there was NO WAY I was returning to that service center. After making the necessary arrangements, I told them to finish up and an additional 1.5 hours I was on my way. It wasn’t until I was half way home when I was contemplating the time of my life I have lost and my intense frustrations that I realized, they never washed the car… after 4.5 hours of hearing them explain to other customers, «They’re just washing it now and then you’ll be all set.» The one and only benefit to visiting a dealership for service. I understand they may have been trying to save me time but at that point, I was missing work, I was missing pay, made those arrangements and no one had asked me one way or another.
Extremely disappointed and frustrated with the lack of customer service I received!

I just purchased a 2015 Honda Accord from Herb Chambers In Seekonk. I am usually the type to keep my cars for a long time. Of our 2 cars, one is usually around 12 years old and the other is around 6 when we look to replace it. I have had a Subaru, 2 VW’s and a Toyota so I thought I’d try a Honda. I don’t LOVE cars and I definitely don’t love the idea of negotiating and buying a car, but I did my research and heading in to the dreaded interaction. I really have to say it was the best car buying experience I have ever had. Our sales person was Tim Kane who had tremendous knowledge of the cars on the lot and had the ability to know what we wanted but not be pushy at all. Even when he brought the manager over, I expected the huge pitch but he was great! I think they realize the product sells itself and they were giving me a great deal. I told him I really don’t even buy a dress without sleeping on it (which is true) and I would need to think about it and get back to him. However, on the way home I realized I was not going to get a better deal and they were great to work with, so I called Tim on his cell phone (which he gave to me) and told him I was on my way back. He had already left but turned around and came back to close the deal. I picked up my car all registered and cleaned a couple of days later. Love the car and loved the experience. Thank you! If you need a new car, tell Tim I sent you!

I had a wonderful experience at Herb Chambers Seekonk. John Henriques was amazing. He listened to what I was looking for and what I could afford. He was kind, friendly, and funny. I can’t say enough about Herb Chambers Seekonk, they make purchasing a car a pleasure. The ice cream and popcorn is a great touch! But John Henriques is the man! If you want to buy a car without being hassled and have honest and upfront service choose Herb Chambers, it will change your whole car buying experience. I’m a customer for life!

I wanted to provide and update, Herb Chambers called me back and of course offered more for my trade in. Still not near what I wanted. However, suddenly my car was worth more.
At this point I have not made purchase.
I went to Colonial Honda in Dartmouth, Ma: I had the same situation, low trade in value and the next day called me to come in again to offer more for my trade. This situation was more sleazy, the managers were very unprofessional.
IF YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU GET THE BEST DEAL: GO TO TRUE CAR, get the right value what you are purchasing. Safe yourself time and pain.

Cars are nightmares sometimes, and it takes a place like Herb Chambers Seekonk to restore your faith in humanity. After getting seriously screwed over from Showcase Shell after they botched up my oil change and forgot to put the oil cap back on, Josh at the service station got the right cap for me, topped off my oil, and offered to power wash the entire engine area from the quarts of oil that spilled everywhere.
Josh and this location are 5 stars for their commitment to assisting people. You can tell they care about cars and about helping customers in the best way. I recommend this place to all Honda owners.

OK, so as much as we loved our Mini Cooper the lease was almost over and unfortunately we were way over our allowed miles so we had to do some legwork. Our daughter was the primary driver so we of course looked at the new Mini Hardtop — really tempting but unfortunately the lease price was much higher than last time (probably because of the extra miles issue).
We had an Accord before the Mini and had had a really good experience at Herb Chambers Honda in Seekonk so we went back to see what our options were there. We worked with Scott Birtles the GM and Russ Curran. After reviewing all our options (2014 vs. 2015 — Accord vs. CRV vs. Civic & lease vs. buy etc. etc. etc.) we ended up purchasing a 2015 Honda Civic SE.
Scott & Russ were enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and immensely helpful. They answered all of our many questions about the car and made sure we had carefully considered all options before we made our final decision. We really have had great service from this dealer but did not buy on the first visit. Scott & Russ were more than happy to give us our space to decide on our schedule.
As much as I like Herb Chambers I had to go online and check there price against other dealers and including the trade, financing price of the Civic, Venture Shield, Simonize & Road & Tire protection Scott & Russ were but far the best value. They then followed up by phone to let us know that Honda had added some December special offering another $ 500 off as well as a very low interest rate.
That made it a very easy decision and we purchased that evening. Thank you Scott & Russ we love our 2015 Civic and especially your friendly, high quality, no pressure customer service. You obvious desire to prioritize customer satisfaction means that we can easily continue to highly recommend Herb Chambers Honda!

I’ve been getting my 2005 Honda Accord serviced at this Herb Chambers location since I purchased it from the totally horrific Herb Chambers location on Comm Ave in Boston. But that’s a different review for a different day.
Anyway.
I’ve been very happy overall with the service and experience I’ve had at Herb Chambers Seekonk. Like other reviewers mentioned, the waiting area is comfortable and has free soft drinks/​snacks, a vending machine, free wi-​fi, and a flat screen t.v. for your viewing pleasure. It’s not a huge space and basically on top of the sales area, which makes for either hugely entertaining eavesdropping or really annoying jock talk, depending on the day. That said, everyone is very friendly and helpful, for the most part. I usually end up being helped by Tim or Victor in Service, and they do a good job explaining the issues and what my options are. Is it the best deal in town based on price? No idea, and probably not, but I would rather get my car fixed at a certified Honda place with the right parts than chance it with a local shop when it’s so hard to tell who’s legit and who’s a scam.
They get four stars instead of five from me for two reasons:
1) Wait times are long, even if you’re just getting one little thing fixed. Even with an appointment it’s a minimum of about 75 minutes, and more often closer to three hours. I understand if you just show up unannounced it would take that long, but what’s the point of making an appointment if it’s going to take the same amount of time?
2) I needed my shrapnel-​filled recall airbag replaced, which they did for free (obviously). But after I left I noticed something rattling around inside the steering column. I took it back and they said a screw had come loose and was knocking around in there. They fixed it immediately and also gave me a coupon for a free oil change, which was nice, but dudes… you left a screw loose in my airbag? Was it the screw holding the airbag in? If I got into an accident would the airbag cannister just fly out and hit me in the face? I’m going out on a limb here and believing it was just a one-​off thing and that there aren’t other things not fully attached in my car…

Excellent overall service and a very fair price on my Used car. Purchased a used KIA that was priced right at their one price — car was very clean, the service during the sale was excellent. The purchase documentation/​financing piece was a little slow versus some other car purchases that I have made but the staff were all friendly and helpful, including the general manager.
Vehicle was ready as promised — only delay was due t myself and my insurance company not connecting — vehicle was ready to drive off the lot.
My sales guy was Russ Curran. Would deal with him again.

Visited here on a Saturday to look at new cars. Now, it was a hard day to begin with as I knew I would be trading in my convertible, and first dream car, for a family car. But, Sam G. was so helpful. He helped us look at other cars, and sat with us for hours as my husband worked on the deal. The sales team helped us work on getting the best deal and taking our trade in for the maximum it could, without making us feel pressured or like we were wasting time.
I waited to put up my review until now, because we didn’t pick up our new car until yesterday, but it was great. Sam wasn’t even working but had another sales member (Colby) meet us, get our paper work done and show us how to work the new car.
Everyone here was nice, patient and very friendly. No hard pressure sales for us. They made us feel welcome and understood the reason for our purchase and requirements (i.e. leather seats bc of dog hair!). I also want to mention how easy finance was to deal with, no pushy back end sales tactics, just good information.

Went on a Monday morning with no appointment for service on my driver window and door panel. Fast friendly greeting. And was walked through everything. The guy was very courteous and efficient.
The waiting area had free coffee, tea, hot chocolate and soft drinks. They also had snacks like crackers, Granola bars, ice cram and popcorn. Nice touch!
The best part was getting my car back wash inside and out including the mats!
They only lost a star due to the fact that they are car salesmen and I never forget that!
