The Tutoring Center was established in 1994 in California by Dr. Edward Thalheimer. His method for significantly increasing academic skills and concentration span is a time tested and proven system spanning over 2 decades. His process for learning will make a difference in your child’s life and can literally change the course of a child’s life forever.

Business Owner

Owner and Center Director, Wendy Helmendach, is on a mission to help children in the Upstate achieve their highest potential, not just academically but as strong, confident citizens. Wendy’s corporate background in companies like IBM and Wells Fargo, has provided her with the foundation to run a successful business. But it is her heart and her experience as a mother of two children, ages 18 and 20, that led her to The Tutoring Center. Raising children in today’s competitive, demanding, educational environment is difficult and communities need resources to turn to when a child is struggling or is looking to enrich their educational experience. Wendy has been very active volunteering in the school system from Preschool through High School and seeks to use that knowledge and experience to help parents understand their options and help children be more successful. The Tutoring Center is a means to an end. It is a great company, but more importantly Wendy believes it will change the course
