Description

Specialties

Books of all sorts: out-of-print, rare, used, and new. You’ll find thousands of books in the shop, published in the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. We’re happy to special order books, used or new, and we’re pretty good at tracking down books that are a little obscure. We have some first editions. We also have collectibles and magazines, mainly from the early years of the 20th century (1920s, 1930s). We buy collectible books by appointment.

History

Established in 2013.

Rosalind Reichner opened Hart’s Fine Books in November 2013. It’s named in honor of her late husband, Bill Hart (William Surrey Hart, Jr.) who was an avid reader in history, languages, mathematics and cryptography. Bill was the son of two silent film stars and the godson of a well known cult film director (Tod Browning) so the 20,000 volumes passed down to Bill have an interesting provenance as well. We started by focusing on the more collectible books but because we want to be a local community bookshop with something to offer all the readers and collectors who come in, we’ve branched into new books as well.

Meet the Manager

Celeste B.

Manager

Celeste has worked with books most of her life: selling, publishing, editing, and most enjoyably, reading! She’s a graduate of the Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar and is apprenticing with a bookbinder. She has years of experience in networking technology too, so hunting down obscure titles via computers is a bit of a specialty.
