Took my family for dinner a couple of weeks ago and we were very impressed with the service and the food. Earl was our waiter and was extremely nice and helpful. We had ½ slab of ribs, so tender they fell off the bone. We had so much we could not finish the meal. The kids got mac & cheese and mashed potato’s which were very good. You could tell they were homemade. We also took a big as your face piece of cake with Carmel icing home. 4 people ate off of that one piece of cake which by the way was out of this world. We will for sure be going back there soon!

My first impression when I walked in was a strong smell of cleaner covering up another musky smell. Not good! So generic. My potato salad was cold mashed potatoes and the Mac and cheese was noodles with nacho cheese. The beef brisket was just fat. Super over priced for what you get. Never going back again. The waitress was nice… At first. Then she made a rude comment about us to another table. The décor is cheap and tacky. Sorry good try…

I’m a huge bbq fan and am always looking to try new bbq. This was my second visit. The best thing about the place are the staff. They are super nice — down home people. The food is average at best. My son had rib sandwich and he didn’t or couldn’t finish eating it because it was so dry. He was very disappointed. The brisket was tender but they had to warm it up. No kidding. The staff didn’t know anything about the brisket ie which part they had. They brought it to me and I was tell it was the flat. Then they warmed it up and I ate. Taste was ok but nothing to write home about. My wife had a baked potato with pulled pork. She left most of it– the potato wasn’t cooked all the way. The appetizers were decent and probably the best part of the meal. if you read the reviews I think you’ll see it’s a real hit or miss kind of place. I will say it was a bit pricey.

Wow, that just happened! We’ve been coming to the Smokey’s for more than 20 years and never been in here. Outstanding food, beyond expectations with cake that can only be described as heavenly. Pay this place a visit, you will not regret the stop!

Do not come here unless you are willing to wait!!! Waited for over 45 minutes without anyone even speaking to us. Finally got seated after hunting down a waitress. Still waiting to order after 20 minutes at the table. Doubt the food will make up for the service.

Stopped in here for the first time a couple of Sundays ago for dinner. I really wanted to love this place. Walked in and took a deep sniff hoping for some good BBQ smell only to be greeted by a very musty smell like repeat water damage. That smell never went away unfortunately. So we waited just inside to be seated and the lady handling the to go orders kept telling us she would be right with us. She was slammed so a few minutes later she asked a server who was rolling silverware to seat us. She came over to confirm that we are 2 persons, told us to take the second table, brought menus and disappeared. Eight minutes of being ignored I finally asked another server if we could have something to drink. He said he would find our server and returned to tell us that he didn’t realize that he(Earl) was our server. We ordered the brisket plate and the pulled pork plate. Impressions of the food: just okay. We both felt that the portions were small(especially for the cost) and the meat was bland without sauce. Meat and sides wasn’t hot, just kinda warm and on a cool night, I like hot food. And that darned musty smell of the place just wouldn’t go away! Earl seemed distracted and more interested in socializing with whoever was rolling silverware than serving us. Best part of the meal: the chocolate cake slice we later ate at home. Because I really love BBQ(and I’m a local) we will give them another chance, maybe it was just an off night there. I hope it’s better next time… especially for the price. The problems are all fixable Tony. You just gotta handle it.

This place is by far the best place to eat while visiting Pigeon Forge TN. We saw it driving into town and decided to stop for dinner. The food was great! The customer service and southern hospitality is unimaginable. Earl was our host. He’s by far the best host I’ve ever met. He’s so sweet and personable. We also sat across from a couple who drives 20 minutes out of the mountains just to dine there. We told them we were vacationing and it was our first time eating there. They were so nice and ordered us their favorite appetizer(corn nuggets). So of course we ‘paid it forward’ and did it for the next guests that came in. Coincidentally, it was also their first time. This place is a must! Just look for their motto, «Never trust a skinny cook».

Really good food, good prices and our server(I am sorry I cant recall his name, but he was awesome and his daughter lives in Nashville??), but he WASAWESOME. He made great recommendations and we will definitely be back next month when we are in the Gatlinburg area again.

Eating at Tony Gore’s twice this week, we enjoyed every bit if food, from the pulled pork and beef brisket to the fries and okra. The baked beans are the star, packed with pulled pork and slow cooked really well. Bread choices are hushpuppies, garlic bread or fried yeast roll. We skipped dessert; but if sweets are your thing, their cakes and pies are HUGE and look amazing. The service was very personal and friendly.

Excellent food. Excellent service. Everything is home made and you can really tell because the quality is amazing. Such great flavors. The cakes are also home-made and they give huge pieces.

We are at this place last nite at got horrible food poisoning!!! When I called the place they state it can’t be must be the flu!!! I know the difference! Couldn’t possibly be the food they say because someone else would be sick and that they just cook new meat earlier in the morning. Then in an after thought the say they ran out of food and had to close early!!! Hum! Didn’t even off a sorry or anything!!! In-acceptable in my book!!! Ruined our trip now that we get to stay in a motel sicker than dogs!!! Don’t ever eat there at least we won’t!!! Yuck! Yuck!!!

This is seriously the best bbq I’ve ever had in my life. We had a terrible hotel and needed something to go right on this trip. Our server was great– and also from Franklin, TN. He sat at our table and told us the best places to visit that aren’t over run by all the tourists. It was great. Now, let’s talk about the important stuff– the bbq. Holy crap– it was amazing. I had a Tony’s pulled pork sandwich on garlic toast. It melted in my mouth. Multiple choices of bbq sauce– all amazingly rich in flavor. The sides were not basic sides. They were very flavorful and not a detail was missed. I did not have even ONE tough piece of pork or fatty piece. It was all perfectly cooked. The dessert was amazing as well. They had about four cake options to choose from that wee high-end bakery quality. I got the chocolate Oreo cake. My single slice to-go, was bigger than my face. Ha! And I wanted to plant my face in it… Too far? It’s the truth!

I came here because of the reviews. I had high hopes, I was let down. My fiancé and I both ordered the Brisket, I ordered mine with a side of fresh cut french fries, they were far from fresh. Now for the Brisket, ITWASALLFAT. I couldn’t even find enough eat to meat. My fiancé had the same problem, she didn’t even eat her’s and left hungry. I thought Tennessee knew how to do BBQ, turns out the BBQ in Michigan is by far superior. You let me down Tony Gore’s.

Super friendly staff and the BBQ pork was good but the brisket… was all fat and tough. You must get the lemon icebox pie though!

The brisket I ordered was all fat. The garlic Toast was stuff I can buy at the supermarket. Waste of $ 50

I wish we had seen the fried green tomatoes on the menu before we ordered. We would have ordered them too. However, we knew what we wanted when we went in. We wanted brisket! We make it a point to eat brisket in almost every place we visit. We had yet to eat brisket in Tennessee. Instead of picking one of the local chain restaurants, we saw this place driving by and had to stop. We figured any place with a smoker in front, had to be good. The brisket was very, very flavorful. You could definitely taste the smoke in it. We loved it and we loved the barbecue sauce too. The only thing keeping this place from 5 stars in my opinion for the brisket was there was very little bark on the brisket and it was sliced a smidgen too thin. Besides that, it was amazing. We loved the beans and the cole slaw. I can’t believe someone said there wasn’t much flavor in the beans. Not so as they were delicious. We found the hushpuppies a little heavy though. Our server was great too.

OMG!! b let’s starts with amazing service!!! Earl is one of the kindest waiters I’ve ever encountered! He knows what’s good and can steer you in the right direction from appetizers to desserts! We started with the fried green tomatoes served with the BBQ ranch! Again OMG!!! We moved on to entrees and let’s just say always ask what’s NOT on the menu because the smoked meatloaf was to die for! We had a kids Mac n cheese, 3 little pigs, loaded t chips and a smokey mountain cheesesteak!!! To finish it off a large slice of the white cake topped with strawberries and whipped topping!!! We will be back for sure!!!

This is as good as it gets for old fashioned southern BBQ cooking. Friendly staff and delicious baby back ribs with over 5 choices of sauces. Homemade baked beans and coleslaw. It’s not your regular chain restaurant and there is gospel music at times. There are celebrity pictures on the walls. Bathrooms are clean. The restaurant itself has a diner type atmosphere but the food is worth it and dessert pies are made from scratch to complete your BBQ dining experience. There is a BBQ smoker out front which you can see and smell from the road. It’s a family friendly restaurant. We will be back.

We visited Tony’s based on Unilocal reviews. Otherwise we may have just passed it by, as the curb appeal is not quite there. I guess this is where«never judge a book by it’s cover» comes into play. We started off with the cheese sticks. They were good but I would have preferred marinara sauce for a dip instead of ranch dressing and honey mustard. For an entrée I ordered the brisket and it was very good. The coleslaw was different from any coleslaw I’d had before but it was good. Sweet, not vinegary. Definitely get the fried roll. Yum. My husband ordered the smoked sausage which he only thought was«okay» His french fries were a little limp and soggy. The sweet tea, however, must have some sort of crack in it because it was some of the best sweet tea I have ever had. We asked for a to-go cup and they brought us out a HUGE cup. One thing I wished that they would do is label the sauces and/or have some description of the sauces as part of the menu. We had no idea what was going on with the sauces. Two of the sauces were in the yellow and red squeeze bottles and we thought they were mustard and ketchup. In fact, they were two of the better sauces available. If we hadn’t discovered them I would have rated the sauces as sub-par. Service was not too slow, but there seemed to be a lack of urgency in any case. We weren’t in a particular hurry to get out of the restaurant but I noticed a table next to us that was constantly trying to get the attention of the waiter so that they could get their check. The giant cake that you see when you come in? It’s awesome and a single piece would easily feed 2 – 3 people. Unless you really, really like cake! I got a piece of the turtle cake with it’s homemade caramel frosting. Yum, yummy, yum.
