Oxford Academy of Hair Design

If you’re ever thinking of having your child’s birthday party somewhere this is the place. A mini makeover with girls getting their hair, nails, and makeup done. They then get to have cake in the adorably decorated party room. The girls had a blast and the price cannot be matched by any businesses near and far. So glad I booked my six year old daughters party here. The girls parents were blown away!

As far as a rating goes, for Oxford Academy I give 5 stars, two thumbs up and an A++. I have worked at the school for over a year now and it has changed my life. The staff and students welcomed me to the school with open arms despite the fact that I have absolutely no cosmetology background.
I work in the office and help with admissions, portfolios, resumes, placement, general questions and making sure the students are all smiling. If they aren’t, I’ve been known to break out in uncoordinated dances and silly accents to brighten their day =] I also am the photographer for their portfolio photo shoots for the cosmetology program and the MAC program. It’s a blast!
I personally commute 45 minutes or so to the school every day and I wouldn’t do it 5 days a week if it wasn’t totally worth every minute. The schools staff have my back and each others and we all help each other put on different events and contests for the students.
As for the students, each and every student past and present have touched my heart in one way or another, I still communicate with many of our graduates who have gone on to do wonderful things with their careers in this industry and I couldn’t be more proud of them for what they’ve accomplished.
Its a house full of women so things get interesting but there is usually one or more people who are there for you to cheer you up so you can move on and enjoy the rest of your day the OA Way =] With a smile on your face.
Kellie, the owner, is a wonderful person who started the school herself from the ground up and has made Oxford Academy what it is today. You can tell just talking to her how much she loves being in this industry and being able to train students to do the same. She teaches classes once a month herself and I think that’s awesome that the students get to learn from her directly. She’s a big goofball like me and we work really well together.
I have learned so much in the past year or so, and just from listening to every day conversation so I’m confident that the students have learned way more than I have with their theory instructors, being on the floor and taking certification classes that we offer, plus extra field trips and specialty classes that we offer as well.
I could go on all day about this school and how wonderful it is, but I’m hoping that whoever is reading this takes it all in to consideration and at least comes in to see the place =]
