Designs In Dentistry

I’m shocked at the bad reviews — I recently went to Designs in Dentistry and had a wonderful experience. Dr. Alexis is a wonderful dentist and all of the staff with whom I interacted were very kind. I love the office — it is very neat and clean and they offer a host of natural/​holistic dental care and do offer holistic dentistry treatments. I am excited that I found this practice and look forward to being in their care for years to come.

My son went to Designs in Dentistry last Sept for routine cleaning and exam, x rays. We received a collection notice recently and I contacted the office. The dental information provided to Designs was not correct. A wonderful lady by the name of Danielle worked closely with me. I gave her my updated insurance (which has changed from that time). She complete the paperwork and mailed it off for us, keep me in the loop the entire time. Needless to say, delta Dental paid the bill and they are removing us form collections. Danielle is an incredible employee who truly cares.

Another quite unsatisfactory experience.
I am a student in Pittsburgh area, not familiar with the local dentists, but this place looked like a viable place to try. I went in for a routine cleaning and exam. Was told I needed several fillings. I am usually careful about insurance charges, and so I asked to tell me how much I will be charged if insurance claim is denied. The person processing my payment assured me that everything seemed to be ok with my insurance, and the $ 130 copay will be all that I would have to spend. I insisted and asked to tell me how much I would owe if for some reason the insurance did get denied completely (just wanted to get the figure for the worst case scenario). The figure that was given to me was about $ 300. I thought this was reasonable. A few weeks after procedure I received a bill for ~$ 900, out of which ~$ 300 was covered by insurance, and the rest — no. So I’ll have to pay this place $ 600 out of pocket. If I knew this in advance I would not have agreed to get the fillings. I feel quite cheated.
Seriously, I did not think dental practices in Pittsburgh would be this shady. Really hope my review would help other customers to stay away from this subpar place.

I had a terrible experience. My crown fell off a short time after I had it done by Dr. Michelle – despite the fact that she assured me it would would last for 10 years. I would have settled for a third of that! When I contacted her for reimbursement she refused and suggested that it fell out because of poor dental hygiene. I absolutely do not recommend. Extremely unprofessional!
