Good stuff in a little mom and pop place low prices and good quality breakfast food going to make it a habit to stop here for breakfast when I’m in town

We were desperate for a hangover cure, and the Wampatch was the perfect remedy! Great greasy breakfast and strong coffee. I had a delicious bacon and cheese omelette and my fiancée was served and managed to down half a pig via the chef special(ham and eggs with pancakes, hashies, and toast). Don’t even think about going to Denny’s!

I’ve avoided this restaurant for years based on the appearance of the building but finally relented because we were looking for a local breakfast spot and Wampach’s was highly recommended. Good neighborhood restaurant for comfort food. Waiting area(be prepared to wait) is almost non existent. Staff is friendly but can come off irritable if you interrupt their routine because it gets busy and they get overwhelmed.

Have driven by for years. Last night, my wife and ate there for the first time. Very Clean. Food was priced low but the quality was high. Burgundy steak rare, salads, bowl of soup, American fries and pop. $ 20! We will absolutely eat here again. Can’t wait to try the chicken fried steak.

This place is small… small dining room, small kitchen. The kind of place that was probably«the spot» back in the day, then the town grew around them. Don’t expect 5-star service or food. But you can expect an honest, home cooked meal. When it gets busy, the staff can get overwhelmed,(remember the small kitchen). But the food comes out hot and made to order. Everything tastes exactly like you’d expect. Nothing exceedingly more or different and certainly not less. The chicken fried steak and American fries(thin-style hash browns) was good. Thick, creamy gravy on a nicely breaded steak. They have regular hash browns which are perfectly crisp on the outside. The American fries were actually a nice change — irregular and thinly sliced potatoes cooked hash brown style. The eggs benedict were decent but the muffin was well done and crispy. I like mine more medium to soak up the hollandaise. The ham slices are thick cut and onion rings pretty dang good. Large rings and perfectly fried. The only thing I would say is that the staff isn’t exceptionally interactive. They are friendly and nice but not particularly engaging. As with previous posts, I do think the overall experience is important, which includes the level of attention you get as part of the service. It won’t be the prettiest plating you will see for food in a restaurant, but it will be well prepared and like your mom made it, at very reasonable prices and portions.

Went for dinner last weekend. Sat in a booth by the counter. Sun was shining and it was very comfortable. Service was great. Breakfast menu is sizable and served all day. I ordered from one of about 8 dinner entres, ham steak with mashed potatoes and brown gravy. Came with two full pieces of toast and a side salad. My son had chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes smothered in sausage gravy and peach Jello. Everything was really good and tasted home made. I just love the simplicity of it all. Nothing fancy but quality food with great service.

I really want to like this place based on how convenient it is for me, but I just can’t. The place itself was dingy. The service was cold and standoff-ish. The food was mediocre. I’m going to continue to drive all the way to Original Pancake House or Cracker Barrel when I need breakfast food.

Come hungry and leave with money left in your wallet. Expertly cooked eggs, any style, Addicting American fries come with attentive service. Plan ahead on the weekends, come early or after lunch. You will have to wait a bit for great food otherwise.(it’s well worth it btw) My favorite breakfast is by far the homemade chicken fried steak but everything on the menu is fresh, home cooked style food. Enjoy!

2nd time here for breakfast. I had the Cajun breakfast special and my husband had the Eggs Benedict. This is a little hole in the wall, the food was great and service was quick. However, if I had something to say, it would be that the waitresses could be a lot friendlier. We ask for a booster chair for my 2 year old and did get one but the waitress never acknowledged the question. When we ask for creamer and a refill later, again, the waitress did not acknowledge the question but we did get what we ask for. It was like she didn’t enjoy her job which would make it awkward for the guests. For me, great service and food and a welcoming, friendly atmosphere brings me back. I wouldn’t come back unless I wasn’t in a good mood and didn’t want people to talk to me.

WOW! our meals were quite generous & hot to the table. Staff was very attentive & fun to talk to. The meal was delicious. Just the way we got down home on the farm & we thought the price was more then reasonable for the size of the meal. If you find yourself in the area give it a try. You won’t be sorry, well we weren’t! Enjoy!

Another fine example of how breakfast should be served. Thick cut ham, crispy bacon and hearty pancakes. Small place located downtown be prepared to wait 10 minutes on a Sunday morning but worth the wait. It’s like my mom decorated the place. It’s also like my mom cooked the meal so it was good. $ 20 for 2 meals and coffee. Can’t go wrong.

Nothing new here, typical greasy spoon, diner food. I was left full with food still on my plate for a good price. If I lived close I would prefer it to a Perkins.

Nothing other then awesome can be said. Even the occasional grumpy waitress makes it feel just like home when mom was annoyed you asked for ketchup for your steak!!!

I think Im still full from breakfast on Saturday! You might have to wait, as it is a small walk-in diner, but I will never again go to Perkins in town, since this place is much better, friendlier, and cleaner… I had the eggs benedict and a side pancake(plate size!) and was stuffed as a 250lbs dude… food was fresh and custom made to order… the ambiance is great too… heart of shakopee… old town…

I found Wampach’s to be a charming small town diner. The breakfast menu provides a nice selection with some variety. The food was great and the wait time was not bad at all considering how busy they were during our visit. Our server was very attentive and kept refilling our coffee as needed. For some reason I really enjoy the coffee here and I find myself drinking quite a few cups! The portion sizes are quite generous(I couldn’t finish it all). I quite enjoyed the laid back & friendly atmosphere with my boyfriend. Overall, I found the food and service great during our visit. I would definitely return in the future! :)

Great place! Classic Diner style place with great home style cooking. Best breakfast in the area and their bacon is unrivaled! The staff and friendly and you can’t beat the price especially for what you get. The best part is their advertising… Simply«Stop In»!

Wampach’s is a gem in Shakopee, MN. This is a rare hole in the wall that offers no frills with great food. A greasy spoon well worth the wait. Highly recommend the eggs benedict special. Breakfast is amazing! Seating for the whole restaurant is only about 40 so probably difficult for larger groups.

Amazing breakfast food in a cozy setting. Make sure to try the American Fries, they are like hashbrowns but much better. Everything is made from scratch and always hits the spot for a weekend breakfast out. Prices are also very reasonable and the portions are generous.

Small town gem. No its not going to be featured on a television special. No its not going to stand out in your memories as one of the best restaurants you have been to. But you are going to get a lot of food for a reasonable price with decent service. Wampachs is my favorite hangover food restaurant. And its family owned which is part of the charm.
