Jose Peppers

My family has been a fan of Jose Peppers for a long time! We always get great service and the food is always yummy! What more can I say?

It was an okay meal. I liked the warm tortilla chips and salsa. The hot salsa had a good kick to it. Service was fine and there were plenty of selections on the menu. I went for the carnitas tacos. It was cooked well, but rather watery. When I tilted my taco take a bite, a steady stream of liquid started to flow. I waited for it to fully drain and took my first bite. The meat tasted fine but rather bland. I tried to jazz it up with the green sauce on the plate, but that seemed bland as well. The refried beans were fine, but I really liked the cilantro rice. Portion sizes were comparable to the price paid. I think I’ll opt for something else on the menu next time though and maybe sample a libation from the bar.

I arrived this evening, May26th, 2016 from work and driving through flood areas to get something to eat before going home. I waited at the bar for 20 minutes. No one acknowledged my presence! I was Completely ignored! Finally I moved to a middle spot at the bar in hopes to be noticed. No such luck!!! Finally a gentleman and a «regular» at the bar got the attention of «Jose» and explained to him that I had been waiting for 30 minutes. Finally, «Jose» as the gentleman called him, took my order. My food arrived in 15 minutes, I had to ask for silverware and water, and another glass of wine. All the while, several
People at the bar who were obviously, «regulars» had prompt service!!! I even had to ask for my check and a to go box! You must be a «regular» for the prompt and efficient service! Non of which applied to me! I didn’t even get a napkin underneath my drink! LolOnly those that were, «regulars».
Will NOT be back! Cold, cold, people and POOR service! A waste of time and money. I felt invisible!!! Food was average at best. Should have gone to MiRanchito! Just A waste of time to have such a cold experience! Don’t recommend whatsoever, unless you are a «regular»…

Staff is usually pretty good and personable. They have good Margaritas however the last few times the drinks were made poorly, one drink we had to send back. It was similar to straight Margarita mix. I’ll update my review to 5 stars if it seems the issue gets addressed.

Very busy, but finally got seated. Excellent chips n salsa. Entrees were very good.

Love the stuffed jalapenos and espinaca! The Cheese Crisp salad with the tomatillo ranch is my go to meal. The service can be hit or miss, but the food keeps us coming back anyway. Management never checks on you while your dining, so if you need anything you’ll have to track one down.

I do love the food here. I ate at the bar tonight. Limited beer selection, but good margarita menu. The bartender seemed to lack personality. I think personality would be a priority when choosing bartending staff. Not a bad experience. The food was good.
Now he is telling me the restaurant is no longer taking the dining rewards cards. He said I could text someone or he would try to find a pamphlet to explain it. A little frustrating.

Has the potential to have very good food, but if your order is different than what the menu states, they are bound to mess it up. Not only were my two tacos not prepared the way that I had asked, but each one was prepared wrong in their own unique way. I’ve never left a review on a restaurant’s page, but I have been beyond disappointed with my meals the last two times I’ve eaten here.

Decided to try this place out while on a business trip in Shawnee and I was not disappointed. My co-​worker really came through with this recommendation. I will definitely go back the next time I’m in town.

This location has gross margaritas, horrible management and unorganized. Its too big for where the business is located. No kidding about their «remodel» or insect problem in my food

Jose Pepper’s has the best service of any restaurant I’ve ever been to. I come here with my boyfriend all the time and we’ve never had a problem. Their chips and salsa are the best I’ve had anywhere and their espinaca is delicious! My favorite dishes are the mahi mahi fish tacos and the chicken and avocado enchiladas. Tonight I got their famous pollo magnifico which wasn’t my favorite. I knocked off a star because I’m not a huge fan of their burritos, which is disappointing being a mexican restaurant. Great prices, atmosphere and service. Staff is super friendly. Whoever runs this place does a great job.

This place is the first time I’ve ever gotten an F U from a bartender. We were sitting at a table near the bar and watching a Hogs game they had playing on of the TVs. He changed the channel to OU. When I walked over to the bar to tell him we were watching the Hogs game, he gave me a dirty look and changed the other TVs, including two in the adjacent room to the OU game as well. Sucks for them. I usually go there about twice a month but will be looking for a different place instead. Food is so so. Service now sucks if you get this kind of attitude.

I like this Jose Peppers. The layout is a little strange for a Mexican Restaurant IMO, but I can overlook that because the food tastes good and the chips are always fresh and the hot salsa is actually hot!
I like to go during their Happy Hour and try some of those menu items, but some of my favorite things are from the main menu, like the enchiladas, muchaca tacos and fajitas. Service has always been great!
Try them, you won’t be disappointed!

Best chips and salsa in the world, IMHO. Usually get pretty good service at this location, food is really good too, love love love the california quesadillas.

Great food, great service. We tried to get in at the legends location but had an hour wait so we drove to the midland location. It was busy but got seated right away. Food was so good and atmosphere was inviting. Loved it! Well worth the drive

Picked up a take out order tonight. Service was lacking. Food was cold, chips stale. Salsa container on 25% full. Paid 2.99 for Espinaca. It was only half full. No napkins. No eating utensils. We have gone to this restaurant for years and this was terribly disappointing. Might be best not to get an order to go. We sure won’t again.

Food rocks, service is fast and friendly. Love the rewards program. $ 2 margarita nights even better. Glad they expanded so you dont have to wait. Make sure to call ahead and put your name on the list.

My husband, myself and my kids went in for dinner last night. Worst service we have ever had. The sever was rude! In the middle of giving my order I was told to «Hold on a minute» in a rude manner. We had to ask for chips after sitting empty for 10 minutes. My children sat with drinks empty until he was ready to bring us our check. And I dont know if he could get us out of there fast enough.
All the while… his friends at the table behind us were given excellent service… including a free desert.
We have never experinced such rudness. He is lucky we used to be in the business, because a .1 cent tip is what he deserved.
Will NEVER be back!!!

This is a go to for us in our house hold when we are looking for a little Tex-​Mex. They have some of my favorite Chips and Salsa. (They have thin Chips) The salsa is very mild and sometimes goes down a little to easy.
Overall I really haven’t had anything I don’ t like there. The fish tacos are always a good one for me to pick.
Service has always been pretty good there. They actually have two of my favorite servers there. Both very nice and attentive.
When it comes to the house Margarita’s probably not my favorite.

$ 2 STRONG margaritas on Monday and Tuesday! Service can be slow, however, we typically just get some chips and salsa with our margaritas and call it a night. On request, they will bring you hot salsa, for no additional charge. Be careful with the margaritas, after 2, I’m drunk off my bum, and require a driver to take me home. You’ve been warned! They load theirs up with plenty of tequila.
