After waiting nearly 5 years to replace my glasses, I relented, and got my eyes checked. I purchased one pair of glasses from my doctor’s shop and I was not very happy with them. My wife on the other hand purchased two pair of glasses at Shawnee Optix she was very happy! Shawnee Optix has a great selection and is the only shop I came across with a large collection of magnetic attached sunglass frames. Jon is very knowledgeable and thorough and fun to work with. Regardless of your insurance, you will likely get a better deal at Shawnee Optix and be very happy with your purchase. To top it off, it is a local family owned business

I can’t say enough about the excellent customer service and family feel I felt when I walked in the door. I received one-​on-​one service as Jon helped me find the perfect frame for my face. They didn’t try to oversell me on lenses either. Everything was explained so that I knew what I was buying based on my prescription. Love the glasses and it was the best deal I have ever gotten for glasses. I have since bought several pair and always experience the same customer service and care. I told Jon I get designer frames with high end lenses and they’re less expensive than Walmart — with customer service to boot. Thanks Jon!

We came from Chicago to see a friend and get new glasses. I knew that they sold all their glasses from stock and there are thousands of frames. Lots of current fashion.
We had a blast trying on a wide variety and ended up getting a pair each because it was so great a deal. That helps when you have to do progressive lenses.
Jude was a great fitter– she was educating us about how the glasses temple piece should fit not just the face but follow the contour of your head over your ears. We will definitely be back.

I purchased a groupon and went in the lady was very nice and worked with me to pick out a pair of glasses. They gave me a better deal in store until i mentioned the groupon then the price went up. So I didn’t use the groupon. 25 in the trash. Jon the owner is not a very personable person. He always seem distracted and annoyed to me. But I was saving a lot of money to let him make my glasses. After a few weeks I was still not adjusting to my glasses and kept seeing shadow lines so I took them back. The lady said she had never heard of that happening to anyone before and sent me to the other location at 119^th and Metcalf approx. Where Jon told me to go back and drop them off at Johnson Drive location I had just left and he would remake them. So I did and when I got them back they seemed a little off but I thought I was readjusting to new glasses again so I wore them and waited. But I never adjusted so I took them back again and was told again nothing wrong with glasses. So I took them to a friend who also makes glasses and was told the glass manufacture was sub par and the lenses that were supposed to be Flexon were a knock off. In addition, the prescription was wrong. The lenses had been either measured incorrectly or the lab had made an error. At any rate, it didn’t matter how long I wore them I would never adjust to them. I took them back and Jon did give me a refund after repeating several times that he was loosing money on the deal. Well, I waited 2 weeks to get glasses that didn’t work. Drove all over town to be sent back to where I started twice. Only to find out the quality glasses I ordered were not quality at all. Don’t waste your time getting glasses here.

Went here on a whim looking for a pair of backup specs. Ended up buying two pairs. Great selection of frames. They feature very stylish eyeglasses from less well-​known brands. Pricing is also great. In fact, the owner talked me out of a couple of pricey lens options. Altogether, very satisfied.

Very nice to work with. Also very prompt service. Excellent prices and very trustworthy. I was a mail order customer and will be a repeat customer.

I stopped into Shawnee Optix yesterday. They have a great selection of designer (top of the line) frames at great prices. Jon, who I found out is the owner, was very helpful and very knowledgable, and was looking out for my best interest when choosing the frame that would work best for me. I will definitely make them my new spot to get glasses from now on.

Got a new pair of glasses, frames and lenses. $ 250, in two days. Because of the special lens I needed everyone else told me 12 – 15 days. They did a great job, at a great price.

My wife lost her clip-​on sunglasses for her prescription glasses. I Googled the clip-​on make and model number and found them at
(aka Shanee Optix).
I ordered the model number I needed (M242) and they shipped the wrong model number (M244). When I called Jon said he thought it was close — it was not close they were two different shapes.
I returned the glasses and they sent me a refund but they did NOT refund the $ 5.50 return shipping charges.
So it cost me $ 5.50 for them to make a mistake!
I would be cautious about ordering from them online.

Just purchased a replacement for my eye glasses that snapped. Jonathan, the optician, is very helpful. I usually have trouble finding glasses that fit me but he helped me find a pair that look great and fit perfectly– AND in 20 minutes. So many brands and styles of frames to chose from, you’ll find what you need! It’s great to suppose local businesses, too!

A few years ago, I had to break down and buy glasses. So, I went to America’s. What a HUGE mistake! I will never go there again. I ended up having to pay a whole lot more than what was originally advertised and the lenses ended up getting scratched up quite quickly even though I followed instructions on how to keep them clean. Regardless, I saw a Groupon for $ 40 for an eye exam and then a $ 200 credit for glasses. I ended up buying a set of eye glasses with designer frames and a set of prescription sunglasses with designer frames and with the credit, paid around $ 300 for both pairs. The eye exam was very comprehensive and one of the best I’ve had since I went in for an official eye Exam when Kaiser-​Permanente was here in the mid-​90s. The man who helped me was very professional and helpful. I will definitely keep his business in mind when it comes time to get more glasses.

I went in here to just «look» at what frames were available. I like shopping local, so it just seemed like my kind of place to check out. The hubby had broken his nose piece on his shades so wanted Jon to take a look. He did more than take a look-​he fixed them as I browsed through his surplus of designer specs. Jon was also very helpful when I was debating on which pair I liked the best. I would recommend Shawnee Optix-​most definitely!
I ended up with a great pair of glasses, reasonably priced and the customer service was excellent!

I paid $ 30 for a $ 200 credit for glasses on KC Perks. I wear contacts but needed a new pair of back-​up glasses. Since this place is close to work, I figured it would be convenient.
Wow! This place has an amazing selection of designer frames! If you like contemporary options, come here! I usually have trouble finding anything that grabs my eye plus looks ok on my face, but I had trouble choosing from about five frames I loved!
Jon, the guy who runs the place, was loads of help. If you give him an idea of what you like, he will pull frames out for you to try. Finally, I asked for his opinion, and he chose the frames that I had pretty much decided on. It was nice to have confirmation. My glasses were ready in two days. I love them!
Definitely come here before going to any chain. I guarantee you you’ll get much cooler glasses for the same or less money.

Haven’t bought anything yet but the gentleman was polite and helpful and they did have a nice selection of sunglasses.

THE best and most affordable place to get designer eyeglass frames. They have lots of Pro Design Denmark frames in stock, which are my all time favorite brand.
Service can be a little bit slow, but Jonathan does his best.
