Twisted Fresh

The beef burritos are amazing and very tasty. They have very good burgers, the way they cook is entertaining!

Best lunch in the area I could ask for. Service is friendly and food is delicious while being relatively low on the guilt factor.

This one has been a long time coming. I spotted the Twisted Fresh off College more than a year ago, and had no idea what it was. A little WWW surfing and Unilocal research later, I learn that it’s a pretty outstanding and popular food joint (which, as intuition did not have it, was NOT my first, second or third guess), focusing mostly on tacos and wraps. And I eat tacos and wraps.
So, why did it take so long to get here, with it being literally right around the corner? Well, 2015 (and ’16, so far) have been unique years for M.O. and wife, insomuch that we’ve adopted a new way of eating, and it has severely minimized the amount of dining out we’ve been able to execute. And when we have been afforded a rare opportunity to dine out, we’ve gone big.
That said, we’ve been missing out. We should have come here much sooner. Twisted is legit. Today was FINALLY the day I made it, albeit the Shawnee location. I had the Thai Chicken wrap, which was Outstanding. Yes, capital letter «O». For little more than pocket change, you get a fresh (no surprise there, but I mean «chicken-​goes-​on-​the-​grill-​after-​you-​order-​it-​fresh»), large wrap made to order, with side.
From the words leaving my mouth to the food entering it, the wait was less than five minutes — fast preparation and service. I was majorly full. «On a wrap and apple, M.O. Seriously?» Yep — it’s a big wrap. Props to the Twisted gang for offering up good value for the money.
Suffice to say it will NOT be another year before I go back!

Great wraps, sandwiches and salads — but my favorite thing to order is Mahi Mahi tacos. When I’m craving a fish taco — Twisted is my first choice. If you haven’t tried this restaurant — and you love fish tacos — you should visit Twisted and order Mahi Mahi tacos.

Great variety of food. Perfect for lunch or just a quick dinner stop. Not very large inside so getting your food to go is probably best.

Emphasis on fresh, Twisted is one of my new favorite places. Only had the fish tacos and chicken tacos but both are delicious. I’ve heard the wraps are great also.

Great delicious wraps that we love to pick up when we need a quick bite. Sometimes things move a bit slowly when it’s a zoo in there but usually it’s a great go to place for a quick healthy lunch.

Fresh food! I liked the chicken tacos. Wish they had better gluten free options, but it’s really tasty stuff.

Best wrap in Shawnee and I’d put it up against any place in KC. Love the Thai chicken, Caribbean jerk chicken, buffalo chicken, and fish tacos. I’ve never had a bad meal here. The service is always fast. Great little neighborhood joint.

Love, love their food! Can’t go wrong with the fish tacos and the burgers are soo juicy. Been coming to them since day one and have never left feeling unsatisfied!

Back in the day, the only fast food out there seemed to be something that came in a bag spotted with grease. It’s slowly progressing to the point where you can get a solid, healthy meal quickly… enter Twisted Fresh in Shawnee.
I had never heard of this place, but leaving Shawnee Mission Park on a summer day had us starving and wanting something healthy. Unilocal pulled us in this direction and we were pleasantly surprised.
The food was pretty good — I’ll admit, not mind-​blowing, or something I’d drive well out of the way for, but definitely solid, well made and quick.
This area of KC is completely foreign to me so it was good to find something like this. I’d recommend checking it out if you spend time in Western Shawnee.

Love their food. I eat the mahi-​mahi taco salad at least once per week. When I call in my order it is always ready by the time I drive over there. I haven’t had everything on the menu but everything I have had is delicious. Service is always friendly, I highly recommend.

I have never had a bad thing here. Everything is delicious and fresh. In my opinion they have the best burgers in town. My favorite wrap is the gyro. Everything is filling but in a feel good way. The potato salad is very good as well. Most of the staff are teens but they are always friendly and knowledgable.

Holy cow is this place dirty! There are parts of the floor that look like they haven’t been cleaned… ever. Floor is gross. Chairs are gross. HVAC vents are gross. Food prep areas always *look* dirty, but a couple of their carts have *old* food scraps on the bottom shelf. We watched an employee use a rag to «clean» the soda fountain, then turn around and use the same rag to write down the prep counter. And of course, they got our order wrong.

Great food and staff but a little warm inside for this family. Will be back but may have to take it to go. We loved the tacos and wraps!

Twisted is a great place to get a casual semi-​fast meal of pretty good quality. The place is small and staffed by kids who appear to be in HS or early college. That said, their staff works as hard and as fast as any I’ve seen. They seem to really want to do a good job on every order and take pride in their work.
In some ways, Twisted is a victim of it’s own success as they quickly get overwhelmed with peak traffic and phone orders. The work area gets sloppy and organization breaks down quickly leading to over-​cooked food and delays in orders leaving the kitchen.
They are generally very consistent with the food and it’s always pretty tasty. I’ve never had anything bad here, but nothing is really outstanding. Expect quick food that is never awesome, but always ‘good’. Their bacon hickory burger is my favorite but they have a bad habit of charring the outside of their burgers a bit too much, even when ordered medium.
Good food, relatively fast with no fuss. I’m becoming a regular.
Save time by calling in your order and picking it up.

I get this craving for a cobb salad now and then. I’ve had an issue finding a decent one since moving to KC. Coworker brought me here for lunch a few months back, and now when I crave a cobb, Twisted’s grilled chicken cobb wrap is what comes to mind. It’s fresh, flavorful and filling. Service is great, nice (albeit small) location. Reasonable prices. I highly recommend for lunch!

Beat place hands down, then any other in Kansas City. U will not be disappointed with the food here. Service, freshness and cleanliness is excellent.

Love love love this place and their mahi tacos. I call in an order for carry out at least once a week!
They have a location out south as well. I recommend both.

My favorite place in Kansas City for fish tacos.. .there are three of them and they will satisfy your hunger as well as leave you feeling healthy and happy.. .i typically will pass over many places to eat just to get there, but never have any remorse for doing so.. .

My husband and I decided to find something completely different since we were way out in Western Shawnee (THANK YOU Unilocal).
Twisted was delicious! the building room was so much smaller than it should have been.
As per normal, we decided to get 2 different wraps and trade a half each! He got the jerk chicken and I got the gyro. both of us got wheat tortillas. Ohman. SO GOOD. I actually think the jerk was a little better. but both were delicious.

The food is excellent. I usually get the bbq wrap, but the buffalo wrap is great, too, if a bit hot for a pansy like myself. Cheeseburgers are chargrilled and the buns are buttered; and they taste good.
There isn’t a ton of seating, but they do a lot of call-​in/​carry-​out orders.
