The best dentist in Michigan. Period. Dr. Barbat incorporates all of the tenets of a great dentist. She is honest, smart, caring, knowledgeable, professional, and does excellent work. I have been coming here for 15 years plus for a reason! More dentists need to emulate her practice, its truly top of the line. Furthermore, the facility is technologically advanced and extremely clean and well managed as well. The only caveat is that it’s 30 min from my house, so please hurry up and open another office in West Bloomfield!

I came in here to get my annual teeth cleaning and to get a few fillings replaced. Dr. Barbat and her team made accommodation in haste, nevertheless the result of my treatment was A-​MAZINGGGG! Her work is by far the best I have experienced and I can trust her to do more work in the future to get «better version» of my smile. I thought I had it, but it wasn’t until I witnessed Dr. Barbat workmanship! Aside from her skills, staff are always courteous and very down to earth– I love these guys! Makes you feel so comfortable, it feels as though you came to a pampering session.
The level of service provided by your office, and the great lengths to which both the doctor and the supporting staff went to in order to ensure my comfort were truly extraordinary.

I had a similar experience as the other poor review by Ken and sadly will never be returning.
I had an old, perfectly fine filling removed and a new one placed in along with a new cavity filled. I had a lot of pain and discomfort while chewing and of course contacted the office right away. I then returned a couple times after that for the same problem. Please note that Dr. Barbat is too busy to do fillings and I was assisted by a male dental hygienist which was fine but not what I expected coming there as a new patient.
My tooth was continously filed down to align/​fit with the upper tooth when my mouth closed down. I understood this because they explained that’s what caused the pain and it bruised my nerves. Time has gone on and Its almost been a year, obviously it’s no longer bruised but I still have the pain. Thankfully I have forced myself to eat on that side but can only chew minor to hard foods so it doesn’t hurt my tooth.
Now, Dr. Barbat did come in the 3^rd time I stopped in the office and was not the kindest person you would expect her to be with seeing she had a patient in pain from a procedure approved by her. She spoke to me in a sort of demeaning manor as to it being my fault of some sorts for my tooth pain, that I chose the «less expensive» filling and because of that is probably why I’m having pain. I do not ever recall being presented in front of me a chart of different filling options, with different costs or anything remotely close to that.
She had a very annoyed additutde and I felt I was wasting her «valuable» time.
(I also have a friend that goes here ;who will remain anonymous for hippa reasons, and has also commented to me about Dr. Barbats ‘not so pleasant’ attitude)
I did have to call the office back after my 3^rd visit because there was still no improvement after a couple weeks. I was then told that they needed to talk to the dentist and would call me back. They did return my phone call and let me know that Dr. Barbat said that they will take out the filling they placed in and put the more expensive one in. I had it by then and wasn’t looking for more uncomfortable time being spent in that office or having the probability of that filling causing me pain as well.
I truly did appreciate though the caring staff that I always spoke to on the phone.

Dr. Barbat is amazing. She is thorough and precise with her work. She is caring and personable. My questions get answered in terms I can understand. The office is truly state-​of-​art and the staff is very professional and kind. They have great customer service.

I had been a patient of Dr. Barbat’s for a few years when I started questioning some of the practices that were happening with my teeth. Dr. Barbat felt that it would be best to eliminate all of my fillings and replace them with onlays, inlays, and crowns. For being a newer patient, I had believed that maybe my previous dentist didn’t know what they were doing. I wasn’t experiencing any pain at that point, but… you know when you put your health and trust into a medical professional’s hands, you expect them to be doing it for your benefit. So I believed what she told me, and I went on with the treatment plan.
A few cases she determined that they required crowns. I had no idea why it was that bad, but I continued to go along with it.
That was what led me to asking friends in the dental profession about the treatment plan that had been suggested to me. After realizing that what was suggested to me was not right for me, it was already too late. Half of my mouth had been ripped apart, my teeth ground down, crowns applied, and my money was gone.
The office is friendly, beyond friendly to be honest… they were willing to do anything to make you comfortable. I appreciated that. However the time where I finally decided to do something about it was when one of the assistants had given me laughing gas that was too high for what I could handle. When I started to motion that something was wrong, they said that it would all be over soon, and to just hang on a few extra seconds… and by then it was too late. I had gotten sick, and it was not a very good situation.
From that day, I never went back.
The office got a sour note in my mind when I called to request my files to be sent to a new dentist I had found. They would not transfer my personal files, nor my x-​rays to my new office. I had to go there in person and demand that they actually gave me my own files. But of course, I had to pay for that as well.
It helped me realize that sometimes you have to get that 2^nd opinion.

Having gone through a handful of dentists throughout my life, I can say with confidence that Dr. Barbat and her staff are running the best practice I’ve been to. Burdened with a terrible gap in my smile, I came to Dr. Barbat after hearing of her exceptional cosmetic skills. I completed her recommended treatment plan, which closed my gap and increased my quality of life. No longer having to hide my smile, my mind is at ease when it comes to social gatherings, pictures, and dates. Ever since, I’ve had the pleasure of having her as my general dentist for my bi-​annual check-​up/​cleanings. I highly recommend Dr. Barbat. She is everything you want in a dentist: compassionate, attentive, and a true virtuoso in her field.

Was shocked to read a 2-​Star rating on Dr. Barbat! Until I found her, I’d spent years trying to overcome migraines I’d had for 10 years. Her skills are so good I was recommended by another dentist to see her! She has technology that very few other dentists have and is the most gentle and knowledgeable dentist I’ve ever seen. She did esthetic work on my front teeth in addition to correcting my bite to relieve my TMJ issues. Not only did my headaches and migraines go away immediately, my new smile now looks fabulous. For Steven C. to use a term «grind them down and slap crowns on them» sounds like a jealous dentist down the street to me.

Dr Barbat is great. She has an incredibly friendly, caring and knowledgeable staff and a beautiful office.
