This business is a poster child for blood sucking leaches. They tow cars for Sikorksy security and make $ 140 for a 1 mile tow. I asked the people if I can get a break considering I’m a combat wounded veteran and have been going to there deli for lunch weekly and bringing all my friends and colleagues. They looked at me like I had 3 heads when I asked for a break. Highly recommend that you stay away from a business that sucks the $ away from hard working people who served their country. If I could select zero stars I would. Unfortunately Unilocal forced me to select 1 star to post my review. However, realistically they get zero stars from me…

Qualified mechanics, Great Sandwiches, horrible business practices. I originally brought in my 98 Subaru because belt had broken I lost power steering coming of Merrit. I was told other belt was n/​g and estimate seemed reasonable. I had a great Tuna sand in their country dinner. Mechanic did good job. He said the charging. System checked out but battery was weak. I was told new battery $ 124.95.High price for small battery but I figured they were installing it so ok. When time to pay ½ hr-​$ 42.50 labor to install battery. What?Terminals & cables fine. I protested, woman said that’s what they charge. Swore never go back. Recently friend said he had good experience dealing with AJ. I called 3 days for estimate rear axle bearing. I also needed smog so went in. I asked same woman about rear bearing. She said AJ was in, get estimate. Figured I’d talk AJ. Had another great sandwich. Friendly service. In office I asked AJ if I bought battery how much to install he said $ 10.I showed him my bill and asked him to explain, correct over– charge. He refused noting done July 2012. I said so what? Still shops work. He offered to take $ 25 off bearing job. I said how about you refund me $ 32.50 overage and I consider if I want to do bearing. He said «no.Mess up his books».Unbelievable.Woman rudely adds «no, he was going to do you a favor. Goodbye sir.goodbye sir. Goodbye AJ’s!

High hourly labour rates — equivalent to a new car dealership.
Former customer:
After the staff played «oops, we thought that part would fix it, but it’s probably the frammitz… no not the frammitz but the relay … solenoid?». Eventually the the O2 sensor fixed the problem, but I paid for the 3 other unneeded parts AND labour.
There were good mechanics there many, many moon ago, but they moved on. So did I.

Bravo, AJ’s. Bravo. I wish you guys were closer to Wallingford, I’d bring my Jeep there in a New York minute.

What a train-​wreck this place is!!!
I went to get my emissions tested, and evidently parked somewhere I shouldn’t have. One of the AJ’s employees (not sure if it was A or J) accosted me and started yelling at me. If this were my business, I would have asked «How can i help you?» Instead, the crazed man yells at me «WHAT ARE YOU DOING?» Umm, trying to park, thanks.
So, then I go to park, and they crazed man is explaining to the other employee in a very agitated tone how I was parked in the wrong spot. I got out of my car and asked if I could get my emissions tested, and both just looked at me like I was crazy.
Bottom line — these people are odd and appear unreliable. Who yells at a potential customer? Don’t ever go here!!!
