Sad. Was here a few years ago and the corned beef hash was the best I had ever eaten. Today it was almost inedible. Tons of undercooked peppers and onions and very little corned beef. The biscuit was raw in the middle. Can’t say that the meals I saw served looked any more promising.

Got the burger dip and it was horrible): tasted like old mushy meat, service was okay but it’s so small in there you can hear everything going on in the kitchen like their horrible music while dinning): probably not going back anytime soon

The best. Great portions at reasonable prices. Good restaurant with that cozy hometown feel. We’ve always gone for the breakfasts, which are really good. Good coffee and a friendly wait staff make for a good morning.

I’m not from Shelton, as you can see. So this little place just happened to be the best rated Unilocal spot on my roadtrip and I thought I’d give it a shot. Bonus points for them because they were the only place open in that area at 8am(besides McDonalds which I didn’t want to do). It’s a little hole-in-the-wall diner with a sweet owner and a small dining area. I liked how secluded our booth was. Even when other people came in about 30 minutes later the restaurant remained very quiet. I also liked their menu size, there was plenty to order from. The only downside for me was that the food seemed like something I could easily make at home. If you’re in the area and you need breakfast, this a good option but in my opinion I could probably make these dishes at home with a little bit of time and grocery shopping.

Nothing special, but I’d eat here again, as there were lots of solid diner-food choices on the menu. Nice waiter. Great prices.

I’ve eaten here twice, and both times it was fantastic. Both times was for breakfast. The food was perfectly cooked, and the portions were gigantic. Highly recommended.

Delicious food and large portions. The menu is huge and I’ve tried many items. I’m a local and eat here often. My brother from out of state quickly declared this his favorite place to eat.

We are from out of town and was looking for a place to have some lunch when we drove past this hole in the wall diner, deciding to stop in and check it out. We sat ourselves and was almost immediately greeted by a server and offered drinks. Shortly thereafter, our order was taken. 3 of us ordered burgers from the menu, 1 being a kid burger. The server asked us the kind of cheese we wanted only to learn we didn’t really have a choice, there was only cheddar-jack that was the option. Usually when I order a ‘cheese burger’ from any menu, I assume the cheese is included in the advertised price of the ‘cheese burger’ titled ad, but this is was not the case at this establishment. Upon receiving our checks, we noticed we were charged with several ‘extras’ without being informed upon ordering. First, we were charged an extra $ 1.29 for cheese on the adult ‘cheeseburger’ I ordered, also charged an additional .69 for cheese on the kids’ burger. There was no ‘disclaimer’ or warning written anywhere for us to be informs of the additional charges, nor did the sever bother to mention this to us when we ordered. In addition to the cheese charge, we were also charged an additional $ 1.49 for a plate we didn’t even ask for. We ordered a kids chicken strips/fries to be shared between 2 toddlers and was brought an extra plate. When we received our bill, it was broken down to show the additional charges. I completely understand the need to charge extra for these things, but it’s not fair to your guests when they’re presented with charges on something they didn’t ask for. You were very misleading and as a result, we felt giving a tip would be misleading in ‘rewarding’ you for withholding info from your guests. Should you have been forthcoming to us initially with the need to charge us extra for cheese and for a plate we didn’t ask for, I’m sure you would have received a much nicer chunk from us. Those extra charges were your tip. Perhaps in the future you will be a little more forthcoming with your guests to avoid bad reviews. Your food and service was great, it’s just the misleading charges that really surprises us. Seeing the cooks pregnant girlfriend smoking a cigarette as we walked out was the best part of our dining experience or maybe it was the trailer park next to the place. Either way, we won’t be coming back to this ghetto town. The 3 stars are for the service and food, which wasn’t bad. Server could have been a little nicer to the kids when they asked him to hang up their Scooby-do drawing along with the others.

Wow, I think I’ve found my new favorite Mason County breakfast spot! This place has got it all: tasty food, generous portions, good coffee, a huge menu, inexpensive prices, and excellent service. Suzan’s Grill has been open for business in Shelton for years, but I’ve only recently discovered this great little diner. This unassuming little restaurant is located on the old Olympic Highway, just down the street a few blocks from the the shopping centers and fast food joints near the Wallace Kneeland Blvd exit off of Highway 101. It’s adjacent to a mobile home park and easy to miss if you’re not looking out for it. They are a breakfast & lunch only business too– hours are 8am to 3pm every day. So far I’ve been in here about 10 times, and tried something different from their expansive breakfast menu on each visit. All of the basics like bacon & eggs and biscuits & gravy are there, along with specialties like a waffle sandwich and a whole series Legendary Omelettes. They’ve also got burgers, sandwiches, salad and such on the lunch menu, but so far I’ve only stopped by in the morning. I’ve never been disappointed with the quality of the food, the service, or the prices. Looking forward to many more meals here!

If you want a big breakfast, a cure for your hangover, or some good ol’ greasy spoon cooking, this is a great place to come eat breakfast. Portions are big, the cheese is REAL(unlike at Rooster’s just down the road), there are a billion menu choices, and the servers are very nice. If you’re feeling wicked, do order the bacon dipped in pancake batter and then deep-fried. It tastes a lot like an elephant ear if you dip it in the syrup that comes with it. The interior is bleh though, and the benches in the back are pretty uncomfortable. Also towards the back there are baseboard heaters under some of the tables, so you will probably overheat, even if it’s cold outside. I wouldn’t recommend this place for a group of more than 4 either, it’s long and narrow and there is no way to push tables together.

Excellent breakfast food. An extensive menu will leave you with no excuse for not finding something you like. Wait staff was extremely friendly. Although, the wait for food was a little longer than we would have liked our waitress was new so somewhat expected. Waitress did a great job of keeping of our coffee full while we waited.

I was in town recently for training and looked on Unilocal to see what some good choices were and I saw that this place had high ratings. I stopped in and here is what I think. The outside looks a little bit like a dive and the parking in the back is a little sketchy with the trailer park right near. I saw some interesting and savory characters near the trailer park and was hoping my car was safe. Turned out it was not a problem. The server was super nice, quick, and friendly. She was attentive without being annoying. She kept my pop refilled, took my order quickly, and was knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered an omelette which was huge and very tasty. Not greasy or runny. The hashbrowns were the home made shredded crispy kind! YUM!!! Food was a bit over priced in my opinion but it was good and nice sized portions. I could only eat half of my omelette. The inside of the restaurant is a little«divey» but I came to eat and hey! I was in Shelton, so I didnt expect much else honestly. I would go back to this place and recommend it if you arent super picky about locations or appearances of restaurants. UPDATE: 5−27−12 So based on the email I just got from an employee or owner? of this joint I am lowering my score to a 1. I write an honest opinion and this is the comment I just received from«Josh» of Suzanns grill. I gave it 4 stars and gave my opinion which is what Unilocal is about. I say the food is a «bit overpriced» but good and nice sized proportions and this guy goes off on me about not spending money on crap? What the hell??? I give you compliments and you go off on me? My omelette was more than 7.49. I dont eat at Dennys so I cant compare. Whatever. It always amazes me that business owners dont try to take what Unilocalers say seriously and make improvements when they can. If they disagree and keep doing what they do, then fine. But dont go off on a consumer for providing what is THEIR opinion. From Josh to me — «When you say the food was a bit overpriced but you also say your omelette was huge and you could only eat half of it… what do you mean? Is $ 10 including bottomless gourmet coffee and a breakfast experience you can’t get anywhere else, «a bit overpriced?» Denny’s has very small, flavorless and boring omelettes starting at 7.99 with watered down swill coffee starting at 2.49. Is that what you want? Our omelettes start at 7.49 and we sell food that nobody else has to offer including rich and flavorful coffee from only 1.69 per relentlessly bottomless cup. Make your decision wisely. Stop spending your money on crap and start spending your money on food to remember.

Ahhh, small town diners. This is a good one too, located in the midst of Shelton’s franchise row. I spent all morning and into the afternoon taking photos on Hood Canal. On my way home(via the Union Truck Trail), I stopped here for a piece of pie and coffee, which ended up being a late breakfast(It was 3PM). Yup, they serve brekkie all day long. The eggs over easy were done just right and the hash browns(considering it was 3PM) were fresh tasting, nice and crispy on the outside. Tully’s coffee is served and was not weak as too many other places often stretch«premium» coffees. This place has a very large four page long menu. No tutti frutti ice cream but what are you going to do, eh? Life is hard. Wear a helmet The service was very attentive — almost too so as I could not drink my coffee as fast as my server made his rounds. There could be worse things, I guess. My only complaint was that, it being a sunny day, the kitchen’s back door was open so the cook’s smoke break filtered in. Smoking is fine with me(I’m no prude), just not when dining, thanks.
