Saltgrass Steak House

Landry’s restaurants are not really known for their ability to fix large orders to-​go. However, I have a Landry’s card and honestly, I like to order things to go here to rack up a few extra points for me (aka, free meals). I recently visited this particular location and asked them to prepare 11 Chicken Fried Chicken meals to go. For you non-​southerners, that’s the same thing as a chicken fried steak but it’s a chicken breast, not steak. They fixed that with a bulk order of veggies and mashed potatoes. It was fixed correctly, tasted good, was a hit with my customers, and I earned 150 points. Not bad. I’ll definitely try this again with other menu items. My only complaint is that they don’t offer paper plates. They only have styrofoam to go containers that they give you instead of plates. It worked ok but I’d rather get plates. For now, I’ll give them four stars for the effort and attention to detail. Good job.

service was wonderful! the food was good, though my husband’s steak was a little undercooked than he ordered.

LOVE this place! It’s been great every time we’ve come here. Tonight (Friday night) we came around 6:30 pm and were seated instantly. Our waitress Elaina was awesome! She was super friendly and attentive! I ordered the ribs and coconut shrimp. YUMMMMM! My husband had the filet mignon. It was cooker perfectly and tastes amazing. We also has the seafood fondu… Which was also very good, but was about 90% cheese and 10% seafood. Oh well, still delicious. Because we are Landry select card members our entire meal was free! The manager came to our table and kindly checked on us. What a great night out and a great meal!

Hands down best place ever!!! Came in for my birthday (only for crab cakes for my cheat day) and they got our party of 10 seated right away. Our wait time was about 20 minutes on a Sat night wow! Once we got settled and ordered drinks and apps the manager came over to let us know they are out of crab I was so bummed, until he suggested grabbing it from babins next door. They made my favorite app for me it was as delish as I had dreamed of lol all our food was great and service was Excellent! Can’t wait to come here more often now

They have mastered the art of a fresh salad for years. Sometimes that’s what makes up my mind to stop in for dinner. I ordered the Grilled Chicken with a baked potato. I don’t know what their marination is but it was delicious and juicy.
I sit in the bar when I dine alone and the service wasn’t as good as normal.
Otherwise it was a good dinner.

I’ve lived in Houston my whole life, til recently moving back after 10+ years and finally trying out this place. A friend spoke highly of their steaks here! Unfortunately, the pork chops were MORE amazing in portion and taste by far than my medium rare rib eye! (Who knows maybe it was just today…) Prior to coming here I read some tips on their sweet potato fries which was tasty! Their house dressing was really good. The salad didn’t look too appetizing. Seriously looked thrown on from a mixed green bag. Our waiter didn’t have any personality, though friendly. When five staff came out to bring our food they all gave each person the wrong dish… that was kinda funny. I even saw the manager and staff trying to figure out which dish goes where… before they got to our table. Will definitely come back for pork chops & their baby back ribs are amazing!!! Kids menu had baby back ribs for $ 9.99!!! That’s a deal!

Worst service we have received in a long time. Quality not worth the price paid!!! Do not go here to celebrate a special occasion especially if you have children in your party.

Great service. AMAZING food! Low wait times for a table. Accommodated our request for a different table with no hesitation. Great place to have a wonderful dinner. It was a bit loud but once we switched tables it was fine. This restaurant has the best sweet potato fries I have ever had, hands down! The steak was tender, salmon cooked to perfection, shrimp was grilles nicely, and crab meat was absolutely devine! Go eat here and please tip well.

The food is really good and the service is good as well. I’ve gone to Saltgrass twice and in both ocassions the food took longer than usual to arrive. However like i said the food is really good so its worth the wait.

This is a great steakhouse, every time we are in town we always have dinner here and it has always Ben a great experience! Service is great from the host stand to servers, bartenders and busboy are very friendly. Great menu, the steak and vegetables soup is really good and the salads are nice and fresh. The steaks are amazing, I had the smothered sirloin with onions and mushrooms and it was delicious! Right portion, juicy and great flavor. All the others on the table also enjoyed their dishes. Atmosphere is casual and friendly and most you can hear is people having a great time. We had a great dinner and that is always why we come back.

Best food! I’ve never received anything I wasn’t supper happy with.
Managers need to work on training employees on good Texas customer service though.

Great food at a very reasonable price.
My wife & I ate here on a Saturday night (March 28, 2015) with two other couples. The waitress graciously accommodated our request for separate checks. My meal was excellent — BBQ Baby Back Ribs & Grilled Chicken. The chicken was most & tender, and the ribs were tasty and fell off the bone.
Good atmosphere, too — could conduct a conversation at a normal talking voice.

We ate here last night and had a great experience. Our waiter was pleasant and attentive. The food was delicious. The ribs were some of the best I’ve had. The steak is always delicious. We’ll be back!

We love Salt Grass Steakhouses. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice. The quality of the food has really gone down in recent visits. The last two times I have been to this location, I have ordered the 6 ounce filet, medium. Both times the steak has arrived rare or medium rare. The management is apologetic but I would rather they cook my steak right and bring it out to the table at the same time as the other people at my table. I hope they fix the issues with their cooks but for now I will try another steakhouse.

The drinks are awesome and the food is slightly above average. They’re always crowded do if you don’t have a landry’s pass, plan on waiting for a table

This was our every weekend restaurant for a very long time, my family and I love it! Good food, amazing service, and the ambiance is perfect. You really feel in Texas eating here, and the waiters and waitresses are extremely nice. I totally recommend this place.
