Skyrokh Salon

This place does not value customer satisfaction! I had referred other friends to this place and can’t believe the level of service I received after a hair color that I was not happy with. I went in for a natural looking highlight before the holidays, I’m a new mom and wanted something nice for myself. After leaving the salon with a partial dry, because it’s extra for a full dry/​style. I came home, styled it, and realized that this was not the natural look I had asked for. I gave it a few days, it being the week of Thanksgiving, went in to have it corrected and was told it would be an addational charge. I did like the head massage and hand massage during the shampooing, but I would not recommend there hair services to anyone looking for a new salon.

Appointment canceled for no reason. I drove all the way to the salon, and was only told that they moved someone else to my spot simply because they tried to call earlier today to confirm and they called the wrong number. I’m very disapointed.

So my last experience was not as enjoyable as previous visits. My hair stylist raised her prices and didn’t bother telling me. Then she did a full when all I asked for was a partial and charged me almost 160 $ for an average look. Not happy with the final result. Probably will not be returning.

This place is pretty awesome. If you are looking for an awesome men’s hair cut ask for Hannah! Don’t pass up The shampoo hand massage combo!

This is a fabulous Salon! The staff are some of the friendliest people I’ve come across since moving here. They are highly qualified, with that saying it doesn’t come cheap:-) The above review was in September 2012
Update: I have been to this salon about 5 times now, and although the above is still pretty much how I feel, the highly qualified is not quite the same feeling. The shampoos here are AMAZING! The few color services I have received were done well, however the haircut was not up to par in my opinion.

This place was hip and friendly. I love that they carry aveda products and I may go here for a haircut in the future. I’m in love with my stylist at the moment so I’m not sure this will happen anytime soon. I came here for a eyebrow wax because they were looking quite shabby. I feel that waxing should take place not in the shampoo station. That’s where they did my eyebrow wax. I’m used to a separate room for waxing and decent lighting. She did a alright job but I wouldn’t come back here for a wax. So for waxing I would give them one star. But they are probably great for haircuts. I didn’t want to ruin their rating on just a eyebrow wax.
They also don’t allow kids in their salon-it’s something specified on their website. I can understand both sides to this statement. I know that other people really just let their kids do whatever they want. But I also would like to bring my little girl in sometimes. So I have mixed emotions about that.

After I got a terrible haircut from Gabriel and gave them feedback online, the team at Skyrokh emailed me back promptly and asked me to come in so they could try and help me fix my hair.
While I was hesitant to come back in, everyone was so nice and apologetic. The owner Michael assured me that this would not happen again. He tried to fix my hair (not much could be done though) and told me that he would continue to see me while my awful haircut grew out. Yeah, that’s going to take months though.
I never thought that a business would take their reviews so seriously, but Skyrokh definitely cares about their clients. While Gabriel did a terrible job, the rest of the Skyrokh team is amazing. They really cared about how I felt and assured me that their customer service is up to par. My only reservation about Skyrokh is that something should have been done to fix my hair the day I got it cut, rather than having to go back in 2 days later. That, and the fact that Gabriel was recommended in the first place.
Overall, my experience with Skyrokh has been positive. In the past I have had great haircuts with Sam. So while nothing can fix my bad haircut, my faith in the team at Skyrokh has been restored. They were professional and courteous, and assured me that this bad haircut would never happen again. Also, Gabriel does not work there anymore (apparently I’m not the only one to have a bad experience with him). I will be coming back here in May, but now I know to stick with my preferred stylist.
I’ll continue to update my reviews on Skyrokh as my hair grows out.

Why oh why did I not stumble into this salon so much sooner?
The so few reviews? The business’ deeply tinted windows? The strip mall location?
Do not be discouraged! Just call and make an appointment ASAP!
The salon is very clean and comfortable. One of the best bowls I have ever had my hair washed in– it was very comfortable! Add in the head massage and the hand massage and the warm towels… oh my!
The receptionist is incredibly friendly and very helpful. They have beverages waiting for you and snacks and loads of magazines.
EVERYONE working in the salon is friendly and clearly knowledgeable about their trade. EVERY patron in the salon left with amazing looking hair. These folks really know the art and importance of the blow dry and style.
My stylist was Gabriel and he was fantastic. He made me feel very comfortable about cutting several inches and adding in layers that will allow my cut to grow (I tend to wait too long between cuts) without appearing like I need a cut. He did not rush and I never felt like a number in his chair.
The cut was affordable– you are going to an Aveda salon, not Texas Hair Team or Great Cuts– so definitely worth it. I disagree with the statement of it being a splurge, I found it very reasonable for the quality of product, service and time spent on me.

Aveda products and a convenient location drew me to Skyrokh a few years ago. My stylist is Stephanie and she is very talented, full of ideas and experienced. I trust her judgement and she’s not steered me wrong yet.
Everyone is very friendly at Skrokh and I love my appointments because I know I can sit back and relax. The hand massage with lotion is such a nice treat while you let you conditioner do its work.

First steps into this salon and I knew I was going to walk out a with as a refreshed, upbeat, vibrant brunette! This place oozes trendiness from the décor to the vibrant staff and their own trendy hair styles, to the sun chip bags laid out for you to nibble on. As soon as you walk in your greeted by the sweetest receptionist who brings you to the waiting area where you put on your salon apron and asked if you’d like something to drink or any magazines to read while you wait for your appt. Next a «shampoo apprentice» (yes that is the first time I’ve heard of that job position too) brings you to your chair where your scalp is then outlined with Vaseline to protect your forehead and ears from the hair color. Super awesome b/​c I usually leave salons with half my ears and neck brown. My hair stylist Stephanie is super amazing! Thank you Unilocalers for the reviews of her. Did I mention I just moved to Texas and am 2 hair appointments away from my wedding day so I truly trusted my Unilocal reviews. She was great! She is not only a hair color master but also a salon educator. Throughout the whole styling process she explained what she used in my hair and taught me how to blow dry my hair and create beachy waves using the «wand» styling tool (which I can’t wait to buy).
The «shampoo apprentice» not only shampoos your hair but you also massages your scalp, neck, and gives you a hand rub. I was shocked, I didn’t expect such service. Everyone is like one big family there and so helpful towards each other which I commented on. I’m so happy with my hair color and cut and so glad I found a great stylist on the first try especially since I’ve been going to my last stylist for the past 9 years. Do be aware though that you are paying for what you get so don’t be surprised if you end up leaving $ 200+ less than what you walked in with.

Always very happy with my haircut — Stephanie is a terrific stylist that really listens to her clients and she knows what she is doing. She makes you feel at ease and gives great suggestions — would recommend asking for Stephanie.

I had my second appointment with Stephanie at Skyrokh on Wednesday, and since I «found» Skyrokh though reviews on here, I thought I would add my two cents. First, I must say that I am giving Skyrokh five stars because they earned them — it seems like it’s frowned upon to give five stars for your first review, but if I weren’t so happy with the service I received there, I wouldn’t be bothering to write about it.
Stephanie is an amazing stylist — I have been searching for the right stylist for me since moving here nearly two years ago, and she is The One. She’s a former instructor at the Aveda Institute and gives you tips throughout the process on how you can style your hair at home. She does a great job of cutting my hair — it looks amazing and is very flattering. She doesn’t push products, but is happy to suggest them and tell you the best ones for what you want your hair to do (or not do). She instinctively finds the right balance between chit chat and letting you zone out if that’s your preference.
I love the Salon’s décor and ambiance, and I have had excellent experiences both with making the appointment over the phone, and with service at check in and check out. A scalp massage and hand massage are part of the service when you have your hair cut, and the shampoo assistants do an incredible job — and they ask first if you would like the massage, which I appreciate.
I think the prices are reasonable, considering what other salons in The Woodlands charge, so I am happy in that regard. I highly recommend checking out Skyrokh.

If you are looking for a hair master… look no further. I can’t tell you how many compliments I get on my hair, all the time, after Michael Sievers does my hair! I have naturally curly hair, and Michael is the only one who has actually cut and colored my hair right… and made it to where I can manage it easily. He is awesome with color! Not only can you see the rich colors when I flat iron my hair, but also when it is curly! Huge deal! It is a worth every penny to know your hair is going to look fabulous! The salon is gorgeous, and super chic… the staff are very accommodating. It is truly a place you can go, and totally relax! I highly recommend it, and will never go anywhere else!
