I love this store. I always feel like I receive personalized expert help without the fee that other places might charge for an A-​list-​feeling service. I love Susan but everyone there is nice.

The moment you come into the store you feel like you went back to the 50’s. Décor was a bit old age. The person who helped my gf was in her 60’s. I wasn’t expecting a older lady. Maybe somebody young at least that’s how I felt. But she was very attentive, sweet and helpful. Some of the products look like it’s been there for a while. Thou it was not for me, my gf told me that she was professional in her job position. Thou they didn’t have her size, the sells person said she would Order another one just to see if it would fit her.

After losing a considerable amount of weight this year I came to the realization that none of my bras fit anymore and I needed to do something about it. I’ve known about this place for years but finally went in when I realized I needed real help! Susan was so kind and helpful and she really listened and found me some great bras! It was a fantastic experience and the prices are really reasonable. I’ll DEFINITELY be back.

How in the hell did this woman get a certificate for bra sizing. First of all, SHE WAS HORRIBLE! She did not know what she was doing at all. She gave me all these OLD bras that were out of style and not what I wanted at all. She told me I am a DDD or a G or a I, I’m looking at her like are you sure? She said yes I am positive. So I tried on the bras and hated them all. They were all too big.
I was really trying to be nice and patient with her, but she kept getting an attitude when I told her my size was not a DDD and I wanted to try on a DD. She refused. She kept giving me bigger bras that cost more money and didn’t fit me at all.
In addition is was very weird that she was in the dressing room with me while I took my bra off and looked at me strangely the whole time. I felt very uncomfortable.
I was very excited about going there because of all the great reviews, but I will never be going back. She was actually trying to sell bras instead of giving me what was comfortable. Not a good place to go at all.

The Store,
has a cozy 1950’s atmosphere it feels like Marilyn Monroe is about to walk in. They have chocolates & candy in the dressing room and offering you coffee & cookies.
It is stocked with all bra sizes and styles, swimwear and a sale section with 50% off all items.
I was very comfortable trying on different styles, the staff was very friendly and helpful.
This time, I Couldn’t find anything, but definitely will go back to check on new stock.

I just got back and had to write a review. The ladies are lovely, they fit me, and found me many options! They took their time and were so helpful! I now know my real size and am so happy I found them. It’s amazing what a quality bra with the right fit can do for you. I will be back for sure. Thanks ladies for the best bra experience I’ve ever had.

I was excited to get my first double mastectomy bras after surgery. Susan was sweet and did spend over an hour with me… perhaps the majority of that time is because their mastectomy forms and bras were in limited supply and I had to get fitted with her current supply. all non-​fit that well and I took the best of the ill fitted ones she had in stock. If she ordered another size I would have to buy it without trying it so that was not an option. Unfortunately one side of my chest wall is sunken while the other side is normal. I needed two types of breast forms and Susan told me the two same forms she had in stock would be OK. She never offered to alter the bras to fit the forms.
The reason for the 1 star is that Susan told me to take the two bras and forms and she would bill the insurance and accept whatever payment they give her… and I would not have to pay my copay. I have had blood labs and a sleep clinic that did the same automatically and believed her. For that reason I walked out with a set of ill fitted forms and bras. I did not know Susan offers alterations and why she didn’t alter my two bras that did not fit the form. Ditto for no punch card for return purchases.
Sadly I got my insurance bill and it showed I owe my co pay. When calling up Susan, I was calm on the phone, never raised my voice… but unfortunately it was not the same with her. I had to remind her that I was respectful to her and requested the same from her… and then she said I was right, she was sorry and was professional on the phone after that. Susan did not remember our agreement of no copay and I had to pay her my copay. I never wore the bras and forms and ended up buying two forms and two bras elsewhere where their supply was great. I needed two types of forms, one for my sunken side and a normal for my normal side.
I have cancer and would never blog negatively to anyone but am hoping this review acts like a public service if anyone comes in with insurance and is told not to worry and that «I never do this for everyone but I will not bill you a copay»…which is not true. Sadly after freshly dealing with cancer and surgery I didn’t have her give me this promise in writing and had to pay over $ 200 for my copay… a total waste of money since I will never wear the 2 ill fitted bras and pair of left and right forms.

A hidden gem…
Having not bought bras in several years (except for maternity and nursing bras) I was long overdue. Although I’m a die hard loyal Nordstrom shopper, I’ve never found them to be great with bra fitting. I had no idea where to go and then I happened to drive by this store, saw the sign, looked it up on Unilocal,read all of the great reviews and walked in. Susan was wonderful!!! She was very patient and knowledgeable — brought more than 10 bras for me to try and had me try them on making sure we figured out which ones fit perfectly. Then as I was about to walk out I remembered that I wanted a strapless as well and she helped me find another one. All in all, I purchased four bras. Great store; great experience! Will definitely shop here again.

If you need something they don’t have, Susan will get it for you. She is the sweetest woman and extremely helpful.
I’ve bought a few bras there, and when I had to go get nursing bras she altered one for me so it was perfect. I’m gonna have to go back soon cause I’m almost back to normal after having my baby.
Oh, and the fact that she always has Tootsie Rolls in the candy jar is pretty awesome! :-)

Incredibly reasonable prices and incredibly helpful, kind staff. I was in and out pretty quickly with a whole new selection of properly fitting, comfy bras. We tried a number of options and really found the best ones for me — no judgment, no awkwardness, you can tell this is what these ladies are experts in! I’m happy to patronize such a nice local business, and my boobs feel and look great in the new bras ;-)

So since I love my girlfriends boobs i decided to give her the support she needs. Honestly I have been bra shopping with my gf before and each time she come out the store angry because it doesnt fit right or because she paid too much. Here at a private affair it was the complete opposite. She couldnt believe how great she felt after being fitted for a bra. Not only that it was only 40.00. that was damn bargain. My gf looks a lot better because she carries herself better and she feels better about herself too. So yeah we will be back. Maybe next time I may take my mom who now wants to go to. Either way I will be waiting in the waiting room eating sugar cookies, drinking coffee. Oh yeah. thanks ladies for the great service you gave my gf and soon to my mom. See you soon.

As others before me «Wow, what a great place!». Susan and her staff are very knowledgeable, understood what I wanted, fitted me expertly, and had the girls hoisted within a few minutes! Both bras were very affordable. I will say that being a plus sized women with large breasts, the selection was more of form and function. I blame this on the manufactures, not the store as I feel they would carry a wider selection if not the case. Overall, I will be back for more support when these wear out!

I have finally found the perfect bra shop. Susan and Anne were helpful, knowledgeable, experienced, smart, and quick! The shop has lots of great selection from A-​H at least, swimsuits, sports bras, specialty (nursing, mastectomy), they do alterations on-​site, and have cookies and coffee! I went in there today with a huge challenge, and they helped me find the perfect undergarment solution.
I used to be a Creative Woman customer, but they keep fitting me too tight and I can’t breathe. Then I tried Laura’s in Glendale, which was great, but not much selection in my large cup-​size. A Private Affair was the perfect fit! I would recommend them to anyone! I only bought a bodice and smoothers, but I think their prices are better than C.W., too.

I just visited this boutique for the first time and I’m glad I did. I was desperate for new bras and knew that I needed to be expertly fitted. I left with three perfect new bras. I’ll be back.

Several months ago, I decided to get «officially» fitted at a department store. After giving me several bras to try on, the salesperson escorted me to a dressing room, said she’d be right back… and disappeared. After 10 minutes or so, I got dressed and asked another clerk where she went. «Oh, our manager’s in town,» she replied. «She got called into a meeting.» And so, I walked out, frustrated and empty-​handed.
I found A Private Affair on Unilocal.My experience with Susan was exactly what I wanted & needed. She is kind, knowledgeable and helpful. I am between sizes, so fit is a challenge. She found quite a few options that worked, and I walked out with a full bag.
It’s a pleasure to patronize small businesses where the owners care deeply about getting it right. A very nice experience. Highly recommended.

If you’d like to support (ha!) a small business that does everything right, A Private Affair is the real deal. After discovering that Victoria’s «secret» is that their bras are terrible, I searched Unilocal and found this place.
Susan is wonderful and kind — she treated me as an individual, not as a commodity. Best of all, she 100% knows what she’s doing. I walked out with the perfect bra and I have Susan to thank for it! If you’re thinking about getting a bra fitting here, don’t think — just get one! It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Susan is a total sweetheart!

Overall a positive experience. The lady was very nice, and although they didn’t have what I was specifically looking for, I bought a pretty bra that fit much better than the ones I usually buy at Lane Bryant, and for about $ 20. Also, cookies!
One thing that was weird is that I thought cup size was standardized, but I tried on both a C and a F cup that fit! The benefits of having someone help you I suppose, as normal I’d try on all the same size.
I knock them down one star only because the selection is kinda small, and I wish they had more accessories.

I love A Private Affair! I have been shopping here since 2006 and can tell you from first hand experience they are awesome in their customer service and serving your bra needs. They are über patient as is required when shopping for a bra. You are not only fitted but provided with an endless number of bra’s to best suit your needs.
They are very sweet ladies and I like how intimate and small the shop is, you don’t normally find these types of shops in LA.
For everything they have to offer, I give it 5 stars!

I’ve been driving past this tiny shop on Burbank Blvd for years! Only last week a cute sign with a bra on it got my attention. BRAS! I hate shopping. And trying on bras has to be about the worst shopping I have to do. But, a girl has got to keep her «girls» in check!
Yesterday I walked in and the woman working in the store asked me what brought me in, «The sign,» I said. She tells me the sign is brand new and was overjoyed to see this new investment bringing in new customers. (The store has been there since 1999.)
They really fit you for bras here. They want you to feel good, look good, keep coming back and most importantly be comfortable.
Anne was awesome. She helped me try on about 25 bras before I made my final selection. She made me feel good about myself and my purchases.
It was an excellent shopping experience. I will be back.

A Private Affair is fabulous! What an «uplifting» experience — for the first time in my life I was fitted exactly to my shape and size… and walked away with five bras at a great price!
