Similar to other reviews, called multiple times to finally schedule Robert to come out for a remodel estimate. He was very late which he apologized for. He promised to have the estimate by the end of the week. It’s been almost a month and nothing. Called daily for a while and always got «you should have it by tonight». Such a bad business practice.

Robert came out & took a look & said he was going to email an estimate, after waiting ~9 days nothing so I called the office & left a message, later that day wife calls & asks me to describe the work that needs to be done… WTH, isn’t that why they came to my house in the first place? At least have Robert make the call in hopes of jaring his memory, I described in technical detail as best I could & never heard back.

When I was finally called back and Robert came to my house I was pleasantly surprised with his recommendation. Unlike two other contractors who said I need to remove all the coping and tile to fix my cracked coping, Robert said I only need to replace the coping that was damaged and I could put off the other work. HOWEVER, when I contacted them to schedule the work to get done, I NEVER HEARD BACK. I e-​mailed and called several times — and said if the job is too small or they are too busy, just let me know. NOTHING. Quite frustrating. Now I don’t who to contact to get the work done. After reading all the great reviews I was quite disappointed that they could not just take the few minutes to respond.

Complete Pools are as good as it gets. Robert and Jan are great to work with. I’m a property manager that oversees many rental properties and their bid came in at a great value for the work we needed done. They are courteous, professional and friendly. If you support local businesses and want to work with the best, write them an email or give them a call.

Bottom line, we love our pool and paver deck! We had some issues along the way, but Robert said they would make sure we were happy with the final product. After a lot of back and forth, he was true to his word. I would recommend them, but communication, on a daily basis is critical. The workers are very friendly, and a pleasure to work with. Jan in the office and Robert are the key people, and even though the project went longer than anticipated, they really were fair with the price, and TRUE to their word. That is more than you can say for most people, let alone contractors.

Robert and his crew are amazing. Did an amazing job on re-​plastering my pool and spa with «Tropics Blue» pebble. Added some turtles /​tiles as well along with replacing the entire coping, adding a new LED light and variable speed pump. I interviewed 3 – 4 other pool plastering companies and I chose Robert because: 1) incredibly detailed and professional; 2) I never heard him complain about the job, even though our house is on a hill and incredibly complicated pool job and 3) check out the other reviews and compare them to other companies.

Robert and his crew are amazing they are not pushy and they came out and did a wonderful job on our back yard and pool I would definitely use them again on my next project they are very professional did a clean job great with communication two thumbs up

OK, I will just confirm that they are as awesome as everyone’s else reviews. My pool looks awesome after getting resurfaced and the guys that did the work were incredible, polite and worked clean. The best part it happened in a matter of days not weeks. Selected tile and signed contract on a Wednesday. They were willing to start next day but I wanted the pool for the weekend. So, Tuesday they did demo to the tile and plaster. Tile came in from supplier Wednesday. Thursday they did the tile, Friday the Pebble Tech. Saturday Acid wash and refill pool. Monday was the startup of getting the water right with chemicals.
This was the fastest most convenient any work I have ever had from any contractor.

My longest review ever!
We got our vintage pool replastered earlier this summer, the old border tile «bead-​blasted,» and a new, up-​to-​code LED light system installed, since the old light was dangerous. (We hadn’t been using it.) I had been putting off the whole job, not knowing which company to trust with a fair estimate and good work, but Unilocal reviews took care of that! And they were happy to come to Altadena for the estimate and work, just above Pasadena. No Valley Prejudice.
As stated in other reviews, the company is run by Robert and Jan and their son Jimmy. Robert does the estimates, Jan does all the desk-​work and phone/​e-​mail answering, and Jimmy supervises the work and does the followup. Someone named Tony (?), subcontracted I think, did the electrical work and deck patching (because of the new lighting.) I believe the labor (demo, plastering) is subcontracted out to very reliable people.
It was a good experience from start to finish. Robert came out quickly to do the estimate, which was reasonable, and quickly received. Jan was awesome handling my borderline obsessive questions (HINT: you’ll get a quicker reply to phone calls-​which I hate making-​than to e-​mails) and never lost patience, not that I could hear, anyway. And Jimmy was great, cheerfully overseeing a re-​do (the deck patch from the electrical work) without complaint or blame.
The demo guys and the plastering guys showed up like ninjas, waiting silently by the pool for legal work hours to begin. (My husband ran back into the bedroom at 6:55 AM saying, «There are a bunch of men in the back yard!» I had always scoffed at TV shows showing SWAT teams sneaking up on people’s houses while the people inside were oblivious to their arrival. Now I’m a believer.) What hard work, but no complaints from them ever, and good cleanup each day. The demo took from 7 AM to 3 PM. And the plastering took place in one long morning. 6 – 7 men, I think. Awesome. The swarmed like octopi over the entire pool.
There were a couple of awkward moments, but just one confusion having anything at all to do with them. First, though, there’s the issue of emptying your pool during a drought, and then refilling it! Awkward. As advised, I kept our small local water company informed each step of the way. (You remove the chlorine source in advance to let the chlorine dissipate. Takes a week, I think.) The pool emptied in a fairly discreet way, but– :cringe.:
The other confusion came with me getting conflicting information regarding wait time/​plaster curing time before using the pool again. One person (not Robert, Jan, or Jimmy) said we could start swimming again almost right away. (I had started this job in early summer, rather than a more logical time, so this was welcome news to me.) But Jan said otherwise. The differing opinions weren’t a problem: **No matter what, just go with what Jan, Robert, and Jimmy say!**
No ta-​da surprises on the bill. Easy-​peasy, except that it’s money. (Entirely reasonable, given the work involved.)
Later, no hard sell on their part, in fact no «sell» at all, just in response to a comment from me, Jimmy admitted that we could use a new pump. (Rebate still not here, but I’m optimistic.) Wow, was he right! The old one was so noisy, and the new one is super-​quiet and is an energy saver I think. And when I complained mildly about having to put back the ugly old floating chlorine space-​pod thingy, he said it was pretty easy to install a chlorine dispenser ($ 200) to the new pump. FINALLY, a solution to a years-​long silent gripe!

Biggest issue, not their problem: My original fantasy had been to put in a timer so that the lights worked automatically. I ended up not getting that, though it could be added at little expense, I’ve been told. My idea was that we wouldn’t have to stumble outside each night to turn off the light. (Age issue, and mobility issues at present.) But then I also wanted to be able to switch it off easily, overriding the timer, if we were going away for a while, for instance. I was told that would have involved unscrewing the fixture each time (which is by the pool, under a hedge, and doesn’t bother me at all, unlike another client), which seemed like a very bad idea indeed.
So I nixed that the timer, my original pool light dream. And we *do* have to totter outside and up the steps in the dark, flashlight in hand, on the nights we have the light on and the time comes to turn it off. Not sure how safe that is in the long run, and it basically means we don’t use the light as often as I’d like. Maybe our signals just got crossed toward the end? Was there a simpler solution? I think this was probably my fault, given the overall friendly, competent awesomeness of the company.

We hired Complete Pool & Spa Restoration to replaster, replace most of the plumbing and all of the equipment. From start to finish, they were on point and the pool is fully functional and was finished beautifully. They even recommended a great pool man for regular service since we were out of their outgoing service area. After the job was finished, Robert delivered us a couple bottles of nice wine with the bill. Classy, loved it. They were a pleasure to work with from the beginning to the end of the contracted service.
I got a little ticked off with them when we had one of their new LED pool lights go out a couple months after they installed it (they’re supposed to last for years!). I called, left a message with a woman in the office, asked them to come out and fix it. Didn’t hear from anyone over a week, called again and left a stern voicemail and was about to leave a negative review because I interpreted it as «we’re done and no longer helping you.» Finally get the call from Robert that they’ll come look at it. It took about two months to get the light fixed from my first phone call to them. One day I come back to find out it was fixed. They said it was an electrical issue that they didn’t cause. Fine… I’m very reasonable, the pool is a half-​century old and I believe them. However, the pool light switches are in the house. They wired a new switch outside by the pool equipment (not very convenient), so that leaves us with one switch inside for one side of the pool and one switch outside for the other. Awkward. I emailed them after receiving a bill for the electrical work that has gone unanswered, asking why they didn’t wire it to the switch inside the house. The same bill also included a charge for filler (to close the gap for the new coping they installed) which is weird. Why wouldn’t that be included originally? Nobody wants a gap that big on the ground.
Long story short… fair priced, Great work. Terrible communication once they’re done with you. I actually would like to hire them again for the new house I just purchased but I’m torn.

What a great experience. I called them out of the blue they were super responsive, the quote was reasonable and the work was outstanding. Robert was extremely well-​versed in everything to do with pools/​jacuzzi and made sure we had the quote immediately. He also advised me about getting a new pool pump which was practically free after the rebate from the DWP. I would’ve never known about it had it not been for Robert.
Jan in the office was extremely nice and ways ready to help!
No only what I recommend them 100% but I can’t wait to use them again on my next project.

We want to add our name to the long list of well-​deserved 5 stars reviews — We got a number of quotes, but Robert had a great price and a great attitude. He really worked with us on making it affordable, and delivered on all our promises. We had a tight frame to get our pool resurfaced, and he and his crew made it happen with total professionalism and personal service. We changed our pool to a mini-​pebble in Midnight Blue and it looks AWESOME!
Plus Robert is just a nice guy who runs his business with integrity. What more can you ask for :)

After several estimates, we decided to go with Robert based on his amazing reviews and fair pricing. Overall it was a great experience. His crew got the job done very quickly and the quality of work is superb. We couldn’t be happier!

3 Stars because I was incredibly frustrated working with such an extraordinarily disorganized company. Communication between the owner, his office person (his lovely wife), his son and his his crew was non existent. I think they tried their best — - but the communication stunk.
Bottom line — the pool looks good, they did what they said they would and it was only a few days of frustration. I would encourage the owner to be direct and honest and TALK to your clients when you know they are not completely happy, not avoid them. I thank his wife for the bottle of delicious wine. Very kind gesture even if the note saying I was a delight to deal with was a little insincere.

Maybe this doesn’t qualify as a review, but after leaving two phone messages with no return call, I am not exactly feeling confident in the reliability of this company. I know I left the messages on the right phone line. Maybe they have enough business and can afford to ignore potential new customers.

Who shall I review for my 200^th review? None other than Complete Pool and Spa Restoration. I am floored by how amazing and talented Robert and his crew are.
No one looks forward to resurfacing a pool. As I looked at my pool (aka the pit of despair) I realized that the time has come. I must admit I was nervous and not looking forward to fixing my pool.
That all went away the second I met Robert. I’m a social worker by trade. My instinct of people is usually spot on and boy was it ever with Robert. He’s a straight shooter that offers an honest opinion. He does both plaster and fiberglass so I knew he would give me the pros and cons of each. I went with fiberglass.
Alejandro and his crew started working promptly on it. They were the best! They were efficient and very hard working.
Although we had rain and I made some last minute changes, Robert did everything to make me happy. He is definitely a man of his word. I was happy with the service and the price was on point. Thanks Robert! My pool looks amazing!

We first had our pool installed about 10 years ago, the contractors that did the job were very dishonest and cut a lot of corners. Flash forward to present day and we have a pool that featured a large crack running around the interior of the walls and a host of other construction defaults.
After meeting with MANY pool contractors (we wanted to make sure we did it right this time) my husband and I settled on hiring Robert and his crew at Complete Pool & Spa Restoration. We are so glad we did.
Robert came out to look at our pool and gave us several options for fixing the damages. He was honest about what level of repair, durability and cost each option would entail. Because of all the detailed info Robert gave us, we were able to make a decision we felt confident about.
Robert and Jimmy were very «hands on», supervising the project every step of the way. If I needed something or had a question I could call or text them and get an immediate response. They visited the site often and communicated with me daily.
They did what they said they would do and did it on time. The pool now looks beautiful and we are thrilled with the results.
If you want a knowledgeable, honest pool contractor, CPR is the one to hire.

We’ve had a 50′ pool for 30 years that was leaking, along with a concrete deck with cracks and uneven sections. We chose CPR and Robert Lansing after getting three estimates and an additional estimate for just the deck. CPR’s prices were competitive, and especially so when the deck-​only quote came out near to CPR’s entire quote. It seems that the fact that CPR does the paving without subcontractors resulted in the savings.
We decided to redo the entire back yard: complete paving replacement and pool relining with fiberglass. We chose a medium gray bottom, since we had had a black bottom before. As you can see from the pictures that I added to the gallery, we could have gone darker.
The amount of work that went into this was enormous, considering that the path to our back yard was only wide enough for a wheelbarrow. The majority of the work went on schedule in spite of some rain delay. The last few details at the end did drag on, however.
Aside for one detail that we forgot (automatic filler), the price was the price. Everything reasonable that we asked for was accommodated, and the extra work needed on our pool because of its condition was included. No surprises were encountered.
We’re very happy with the result and working with Robert Lansing. One suggestion that I’d make for others working with Robert is to follow up conversations with emails, just to keep the details straight. My full recommendations to anyone.
