This doctor only cares about how he can charge your insurance. One of my biggest regrets in my life is ever going to him. If you are a woman with kidney or bladder problems he is the worse choice you can make to visit.

I feel fortunate to have found Dr. Richard David to care for my mentally-​challenged brother’s urinary tract issues. After leaving the «care» of a negligent urologist, Dr. David was a breath of fresh air. He treats my brother with respect, addresses him directly and quickly diagnosed a kidney stone and a urinary tract infection our previous urologist missed.

I took my mom to see this doctor and could not have been more pleased. He was so kind and courteous to us. We didn’t wait long and I think he is going to be very helpful to her.
I have to edit my review because we have been back a few times. While we still like Dr. David a lot, the wait time is much longer than at any other doctor we go to. On top of that, you can see him sitting in his office on the computer for long periods of time while you wait. It’s not like he is with other patients. I would give him 5 stars if he cared a little more about patients waiting.

I left my previous urologist because of poor patient care. I was told by my previous urologist I had a few issues which were not curable but could be mitigated with daily medication or an implant.
I had expected to go to Dr. David just to get a new prescription & receive better care for the issues I thought i already had. I had been living with uncomfortableness, pain & stress for over 2 years. I met with Dr. David & told him the diagnosis I had received & my symptoms. He had me give a urine sample & he did a quick physical exam. Immediately after, he told me I had a bacterial infection that could be cured with a round or two of antibiotics.
What? These non curable issues I have are really curable and I’ve been suffering for over 2 years because my previous doctor was incompetent!?! I was ecstatic, but skeptical. It was too good to be true. I took the first 21-​day round of antibiotics and felt the same. Then I took another 21-​day round of a different antibiotic and all my symptoms cleared up!!!
Thank you Dr. David! Not only was I suffering, but my relationship was as well and you have made my life so much better now!
Dr. David is not the most punctual, but he is personable, takes time with his patients and is educated. If I have to wait a few extra minutes for proper care, I’m fine with that. The staff at the office are also very pleasant & personable.
Oh and there’s a free lot to park in, which is always an added bonus. ;-)

The criterion to evaluate a medical professional is a challenge. Having been thorough the spectrum of services with Dr. Richard David, I can certainly reflect on, and present my experience.
Yes, like others, you can expect to wait to see him; and at least 45 minutes was the norm for most of my visits. More importantly, let’s reflect on the doctor. I used Dr. David for a basic overnight/​outpatient procedure he claimed to specialize in, at a local hospital he recommended. Using both Dr. David for the procedure and Mission Community Hospital was a huge mistake.
I learned the equipment he used at the hospital was provided by a rental outfit, requiring diagnostic testing by both the delivering technician and the MCH Bio-​Med technician before use. The equipment failed during the pre-​op check in the presence of Dr. David, but was still used, and then failed 15 minutes into surgery. As a result, Dr. David opted to use a contraindicated alternative surgical procedure that I specifically told him I did not want, and also ill-​advised by the medical community.
The hospital was ill prepared to handle the failed outcome, and the staff untrained for the consequences and post-​operative care. My urgent calls for Dr. David to respond were ignored for 3 hours. When Dr. David did finally respond, he recognized the urgent need for a second surgery to control bleeding, and I ended up in intensive care.
Dr. David was consistently flippant to my concerns, after care and follow-​up office visits for weeks. After weeks of agony, and a few follow-​up visits with Dr. David, I sought and received treatment and a second procedure from UCLA to fix the complications and problems from Dr. David’s surgery. Dr. Davids office was so arrogant, they charged me $ 25 for my medical record copies to take to UCLA.
The care from the UCLA doctor and UCLA was superb, and marked contrast from my experience with Dr. David and Mission Community Hospital. I can say with complete conviction that using Dr. David is not only a bad choice; it is not a choice at all.

I have been going to Dr David for several years because I think he is a first rate physician. One of the other reviews mentioned the long wait; a sentiment that I must echo but I think the reason for the wait is because of the time he takes with each patient. I always felt I was in good hands with the doctor (and with the physician’s assistant), so I put up with the long wait.

I went to see Dr. David because he was close to my house and had good reviews. BIG MISTAKE. I got there on time for my appointment and filled out all the paperwork. 45 minutes later and no doctor to be seen. There were, however, lots of nursing staff standing around talking about Claire’s Boutique visits they had at the mall on their lunch breaks. I asked the receptionist where the doctor was and she said he had to go downstairs. Hmmm. OK, well it would have been nice if you could have told me and the three other people who were waiting. I asked the girl to refund my copay and destroy my information. Over a week later and no refund of my copay and GUESS WHAT? They billed my insurance for services I never received! Yep, insurance fraud at it’s finest! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
