History

Established in 2004.

In 2004, Christian Audigier licensed the rights to produce the high-​end Ed Hardy clothing line, which is based on Hardy’s imagery. Prior to the Ed Hardy clothing line, Audigier was the Head Designer at Von Dutch Originals, which marketed the imagery of Kenny Howard. Audigier has attempted to replicate the marketing techniques employed by Von Dutch Originals, by marketing directly to celebrity clients and by opening stores in high profile fashion districts. Ed Hardy stores are located in Waikiki, Bahrain, Dubai, Kuwait, Tel Aviv, Dallas, Orlando, Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Tucson, Houston, Montréal, New York, Boston, Atlanta, So Paulo, Tokyo, Singapore, Berlin, Paris, Marseille, Copenhagen, Auckland, Prague, Johannesburg, Riga, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Hong Kong, Taipei, New Delhi, Mumbai and seven in Australia. New stores will soon be opening in Cabazon, California; McLean, Virginia (Tysons Corner Center); and Georgetown, Washington D.C.

Business Owner

Christian Audigier (born 1958) is a French fashion designer and entrepreneur. Originally from Avignon, France, he has designed for such brands as Affliction, Lee, Liberto, Kookai, Von Dutch and Naf Naf. He made his first mark as a fashion jeans designer. One of his most notable achievements was being the primary force behind the rise of Von Dutch, and making the Von Dutch hat a style trend.

His most recent ventures include the high-​end Ed Hardy brand based on the work of Don Ed Hardy; Smet with Johnny Hallyday; and his own namesake Christian Audigier. Christian Audigier has also teamed up with a small cooperative in France, Montpeyroux Estates, to release a line of fine wines. The innovative bottles are wrapped in Christian’s distinct tattoo design, by art director and photographer Barry Sutton. Along with Pure Management, Audigier is a partner in a namesake nightclub in Las Vegas, located inside the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino.
