I had a broken spring on my garage door. The quote over the phone was reasonable. But when the guy showed up, he said the spring was $ 250 per pair and new wire was $ 80, then plus labor. I searched online for parts price afterwards, a new pair of spring cost $ 30 — $ 50 and wire cost $ 5. The job was completed quickly within an hour, this is why I give 2 stars instead of 1. The lesson I learned the hard way and hope Unilocal user can benefit is that do not trust any quote this company gives over the phone.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Stay away from this company.
The owner is a rude, rude person who apparently «only deals with the big picture, and you are the small picture.» Yeah, my «small picture» is a $ 12,550 wooden fence and gate with MOLD issues underneath their weatherproofing.
In case you’re wondering if you’re dealing with the same company, they go by
as well as AZ Garage Door and Gate Services (the AZ stands for the owners initials, NOT Arizona).
The workers were all pleasant, but don’t give this rude man, Avi, the owner of the company, your hard earned money. And if you’re installing a wooden fence or gate, do NOT hire this company unless you want a MOLDY fence and gate.

Shady Shady Shady, don’t wast your time. We foolishly googled local garage repair businesses when our door stopped working and found these guys which listed a local number of 805−212−3370. Their website says free estimates yet they charged a $ 29 service call fee, their rep Scott showed up and after mentioning the company is actually located in North Hollywood (and we are not) proceeded to tell us we need a new opener which would cost $ 475 plus $ 450 for installation and $ 69 per remote. He said we also needed new springs and cables which would add another $ 300 to our total. My husband had to literally bite his tongue to keep the words ‘your out of your f*&king mind’ from leaving his mouth.
A co-​worker gave my husband the name of fantastic company (McElroy) that determined all we needed was a new circuit board, Kevin had it done within 30 minutes (and for only $ 200).
I did a little more research on the shady guys and saw that on their website they indicated they were members of IDA so I searched the IDA site for them and shocker did not find them as recommended dealer or a member. Emails to their membership manager confirmed they are neither. The IDA advises that any site that only has an 800 number the doesn’t include a physical address should be considered suspect, I wasn’t even entirely sure Garage doors and Gate services was actually their company name so I did some digging on the Secretary of State site which led me to AZ Garage Door & Gate Services Inc. and when I googled that name I found them listed on Angies List and the wedsite address matched so now I know not to waste my time looking and anyone that can be found on Angies List.

My garage door wouldn’t open. Springs were broken. Cars were stuck inside. Called and they were out in an hour on Sunday morning. Price not too bad. Ron was great and seemed on top of his game. Would recommend.

I have worked with them once before and they were pretty nice. This time around the tech was extremely rude giving an attitude because we choose not to go with there estimate. We are paying for your visit to the property, its not like it was free. Plus just because we didn’t go with your company this time doesn’t mean we wouldn’t have used them again but now seeing how they get when you tell them no, We might be going with another company in the future.

I backed into my garage door before it was fully raised. Yep I did that. Needless to say I was very annoyed with myself. Ezra was able to get to my house within a couple hours of calling the company. Upon first glance he didn’t think he would be able to fix it but thankfully he fixed it in 15 minutes. It is a little pricey but I like to support local companies and they have great customer service. I highly recommend using them.

I would recommend finding another service. For 20 minutes of work and two sensors I was charged $ 285. This is what I was quoted at (all in) and when I went to pay it was actually listed at $ 295 $ 10 had been added for tax. I’m sure there are more reputable firms available.

I needed springs and a trolley replaced on my garage door. Another company wanted to install other new parts, which I did not need. Joe, from Garage Door and Gate Services, did the job quickly for about half the price of the other company. I would gladly use them again.

STAY AWAY. I’d say drive, don’t run from this company. But you couldn’t. Because you wouldn’t get your car out of your garage. I just had this experience this month, March 2015:
They tried to charge $ 220 for a 10 minute replacing of sensors to garage door opener (that they said was the problem). The parts cost $ 22. We agreed to $ 110. Two days later the door didn’t work again. They came back and said it was the circuit board. Promised me it was. They «tested it.» «We won’t replace the circuit board unless we test and see that’s the problem.» Charged another $ 195. Three days later, the door didn’t work again. I called asking if they warranty their work. «Yes,» was the answer. They showed up a third time, didn’t fix the garage door opener, and never even called with a plan. It’s been 3 weeks and my door still doesn’t work, though they have $ 305 of my money FOR A REPAIR OF A GARAGE DOOR. I can’t imagine how tough it must be to be the worst garage door repair company in Southern California, but they just won. RUN. DON’T DRIVE.

I was involved in a car accident recently & damaged the fence I was parked too close too. It wasn’t pretty :(Anyhoos, I felt really bad about the damage incurred by the electric gate & offered to have it fixed for the owner (instead of via my insurance). But who was I going to call? I contacted my apartment building manager & asked for some leads (we have an electric gate for the parking lot). My manager texted me Joe’s phone# & said, «These guys will take care of you!». And sure enough, I contacted him & he made arrangements to check out the fence the next day. Considering this was a rush job, and I wanted to get it repaired & move on with my life, these guys made it happen :) And the pricing was «extremely» reasonable. They knocked the job out in one day & the owner of the parking lot was satisfied. PHEW! Thanks again, Joe (and crew), for taking care of me & doing an excellent job! :D

I’m so glad I found this company. Look no further for garage repairs for your door and today Sean came quickly and on time and only sold me what I needed. We needed a new motor and we got the Liftmaster and it’s so nice and quiet. Be careful, other people might tell you that you need things you don’t. Sean won’t do that. HARD TO FIND HONEST PEOPLE ANYMORE. I’m so glad I found Sean and his company because we’re going to use them in our HOA for any other garage issues. Wished I would have found him long ago!

My experience with this company was great. The cable and spring in my garage door broke. I contacted this company and they were out to my home within 45 minutes. The repairs were done within 15 minutes and my door working great. The price was fair I know this because I called other companies prior to contacting them. By the way let me point out that they come out on a Saturday evening. Other companies close at 1 pm on Saturdays. Overall my experience was great and highly recommend their services.

These guys are AWESOME!!! We needed an oversized conventional lift up door. Avi came over and measured, then a week and a half later the installers showed up with the custom fit door. The two guys worked like a machine together and in 2 hours our old door was down, new door up, adjusted and attached to our old opener. It looks GREAT!!! Their price was $ 300 less than the guy on TV all the time, which were going to install a standard door and «TRY» to box in the jambs and header to make it «look right». I am so glad we went with GARAGE DOOR and GATE SERVICES, they are GREAT!!!

Avi was great. Punctual and didn’t try to make me get additional work or use anything I did not need. He was quick and thorough. He also said he would be willing to come by and fix things if they weren’t functioning properly. Something Valley Garage door never did. I would highly recommended this company and Avi specifically

I give this company the highest marks for their professionalism, product and prices.
The employees who install are very experienced and good at what they do. The owner is conscientious and follows up on everything. I looked at 5 other companies before going with this one and it was a good decision.
