The firm was established by Janna Lowenstein’s father, Robert Lowenstein, who left the firm in 2011, after practicing for 35 years. In 2003, Janna returned to the firm after law school and has been handling disability cases ever since.

Business Owner
Janna Lowenstein has been exposed to law all her life and graduated from University of California Santa Barbara in 1999 and California Western School of Law, San Diego, in 2002. She joined her father’s firm in 2003 and, at that time, mainly handled the higher levels of appeal at the Appeals Council and United States District Court. She took over in 2011 as the attorney owner of Lowenstein Disability Lawyers and now handles all aspects of appeals.
She is currently on the Board of Directors of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives as a Ninth Circuit Representative. She is Past Chair of the Social Security Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and is a co-planner of the Circuit 9 Conference for Advanced Social Security Practitioners.
She is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Central and Eastern Districts, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
