Mark’s Garden

We’ve lived in Sherman Oaks for over 30 years and Mark’s has been a favorite of ours for years. We would call them for flowers to be delivered, my husband would buy flowers for me on special occasions and we would recommend them to to friends. But honestly, over the last several years the don’t just provide quality arrangements for the average consumer. Maybe they do work for their celebrity clients, but not for us. Most recently, a friend of ours had a tulip arrangement sent to our home as a thank you. When my husband was handed the flowers from the delivery guy, the white tulips were already brown and wilted. My husband said he almost sent them back at that moment but accepted the delivery anyways. As he said it was the thought that counts from our friend. Additionally, the arrangement was terrible. There’s was nothing artistic about it and it truly looked liked someone was in a rush and just stuck a bunch of old tulips in a glass vase. Within 3 days all the flowers had died and were falling off and had to be thrown in the garbage. It was the most pathetic flowers we have ever received. I wouldn’t write this review if this was the first time, but it’s happened the last 4 times we have received a delivery from Marks. I even called the store to share our bad experience and they just didn’t seem to care. It’s a shame that a once great flower store now only serves customers they know or celebrity clients. The average, unknown customer is treated very poorly and receives leftovers. What a shame. The good news is there are many great choices in our neighborhood for fresh flowers!

I called the morning of my sister’s birthday and wanted to send one of the succulent arrangements I saw online to her work that day. It was beautiful and arrives by midday. I will definitely order from Mark’s again.

Mark’s Garden was my florist for my wedding, and I was BLOWN AWAY by their work! The venue was nice, but the flowers REALLY made it stand out and create the elegance I was hoping to achieve!
We ended up going with all white flowers, with lots of greenery. We did 4 tall centerpieces and 5 short ones to give the room some texture and variety. The tall ones were extravagant and breathtaking, and the short ones were still quite large, and BEAUTIFULLY arranged.
I always hated the look of the tall centerpieces in the glass vases, but after seeing it done in person, it really made all the difference.
I have to thank everyone at MG who ended up having to speak with my mother. I put her in charge of all the flower arrangements, and I swear she probably called every week for a year leading up to the wedding. That is not even an exaggeration. She kept changing her mind and asking questions, and they were SO kind and patient with her!
The day of the meeting (where they showed us a mock up of the centerpieces), we actually got to take the centerpiece with us (minus the vase). We used it as the centerpiece at my shower the next day!
They arrived as early as possible the day of the wedding and set up even more than we asked for! They added some flowers to the arch in the ceremony space, and flower petals on the cake table as well as behind the unity table. They worked gracefully under pressure considering it was raining during setup, and we urged them to keep the ceremony outside. They had to set up in the rain, and everything still looked perfect!

My sister and brother-​in-​law recently had a baby and I wanted to send them a special arrangement to say congratulations. I don’t really know anything about floral arrangements but when I called Laura answered the phone and was very helpful. She suggested something in a basket so it would be easier for them to get it home from the hospital which I thought was a really great idea! I had a chance to see the flower arrangement in person and it was everything we had talked about over the phone. Lots of pink and purple! :)

Every time we get flowers from them, they are exactly what we want and as gorgeous as can be! We ended up going with another florist for my sister’s wedding because we assumed they would not deliver to San Diego. We later found out they would have and we were heartbroken! Def going to use them for any future event big or small!

Not only was I able to get an arrangement that was out of this world, She suggested a square arrangement, since it was a round table.
I was able to get the arrangement on the day of my event. The guest of honor was so overwhelmed, she didn’t get to read the card until the next day. Love, love, love Mark’s Garden. You rock!

Terrible attitude by ladies sitting at the front door. Could care less for little customers. Way overpriced!

Wow, the absolute most beautiful floral arrangement I have ever received! I am here in CA away from my husband, who is in North Carolina, for our recent 26^th wedding anniversary (Valentine’s Day). He’s sent me flowers before from many of the «1−800» flower companies, but the quality and content of flowers has been poor with no imagination, and they don’t usually last very long. I asked a friend of mine who would she recommend so I could tell my husband to use a local florist instead. She recommended Mark’s Garden. I have to say that the delivery of the basket of flowers, although I saw them online, far exceeded my expectations. Photos cannot do the presentation justice. There were 16 fresh and beautifully presented roses that took my breath away! I know it may sound corny, but I felt like a bride all over again! Ha! Really! They’re just stunning, and everyone comments who sees them! Thank you so very much. I’m still enjoying them a week later!

Mark’s Garden is the greatest florist in Los Angeles. When I was just out of high school in the 1990s, I worked next door. At that time Mark’s was then-​named Ray’s Flowers. Ray, like Mark, was an incredibly gifted artist who’d created the most unique floral arrangements. It used to be that you could have a gorgeous arrangement delivered same day starting at $ 35. Back then, Ray’s was well-​kept secret between entertainment executives, wedding planners, and people in the right social circles. As the years went on, Ray died and left the shop to Mark, who grew the business substantially. Now, Mark does the flowers for huge Hollywood award ceremonies.
These days, every backwoods yahoo from Bakersfield to Sanbernardino has heard of and wants to order from Mark’s. It’s a lot more of a high pressure business than it was in the 1990s. All these people leaving negative reviews, I think, fail to understand that this shop is still run by one guy. And if you want to order flowers for your grandma’s birthday from the same place that is inevitably doing the flowers for the Oscars and three celebrity weddings, take precautions and maybe puck them up yourself or have them delivered a day early.
Mark in a decent, hardworking man. As was Ray. It saddens me to see all these negative reviews when I know how dedicated they both have been to this business.

Garden as lovely flowers just don’t let just don’t be in a hurry on holidays

What a terrible experience with this company and their customer service. I sent flowers to my fiancé for her birthday. They ruined the surprise I was hoping she was going to get by calling her and to find out where she was located. The address was correct, so if the driver was having a difficult time finding the place he should have called the dispatcher to help him or her find the location.
Then basically the manager tried to educate me by saying that I needed to write special instructions on my delivery to mention that the flowers were a surprise. First off, when most people send flowers to someone it’s meant to be a surprise, second of all, they knew it was for her birthday, which usually when you send flowers to someone on their birthday it’s to surprise them!
They also told me she was going to receive her flowers around midday, she did not receive them any where near that time.
I don’t know how the flowers turned out, but how they handled this delivery was a total failure.

I used to love their work, over the last few years things have gone from bad to worse. Unless you’re a celebrity or having a huge event, their everyday arrangements are horrible and that’s if you even get what you order. Then when you call to tell them, they make you feel as if you were crazy and insulting their work. I posted pictures of most recent nightmare with them., they get one star for trying to fix it. Well the new arrangement was not any better and still not what I had originally order and paid for. They can lose my info from their system, that’s the very last time I use Mark’s for anything. Plain and simply disgusting.

I always use Mark’s Garden but this time they let me down… Sent flowers to a friend at Cedars and the bouquet was uncharacteristically unimaginative and underwhelming. Customer service was great, however. Maybe they are just phoning it in.

They are awesome! I called in to order a corsage for my grandson and his friend. Laura helped me decide on the perfect orchid corsage for my grandson and a white one for his friend. At first I had no idea what I wanted or what was expected since it’s a corsage for a young girl that I don’t know but Laura directed me in the right direction and it was perfect!!!

Absolutely the worst service ever! I will never order from them again. After spending almost $ 500 on one arrangement — they treat you so poorly. And the lady’s answer when I tell her I’m going to write a review: «We don’t worry about those kind of things» and she hangs up on me after I spent $ 500!
Save your money and energy and go elsewhere.

Breathtaking floral landscape for our daughter’s wedding thanks to Nancy Kaye and her team at MG. The most comments of the event… were the flowers!
From a year ago to today she has been gracious, polite, warm and endearing for our special occasion. She went above and beyond to make everything appear effortless, and seamless. Fast communicator & responder, and perfectionist. For that special flower need call Nancy — She is the best.

I paid for 2 dozen flowers on mothersday and my mum got 1 dozen dead roses! And i thought by asking for early delivery i would guarantee fresh bouquet!
This is worse than FTD! Hope their mums got a better deal!

I love MG! All of the employees there are super helpful and friendly. MG is known for doing the flowers for the Oscars, celebrity weddings and the list goes on…
You can either place your order over the phone or in person. Laura, who helped me was THE BEST! I wanted to order flowers for my mom and I really wasn’t sure what I wanted specifically, just had a idea of colors. She really knew her stuff and was able to help me. The flowers were GORGEOUS! The most unique kinds of flowers and there was a little diamond stud on some of the flowers. They delivered the flowers to my mom’s house and she was blown away with the arrangement.
You can’t go wrong with MG!
