Dr. Bjornbak has been providing the Sherman Oaks, CA community with expert dental care for over 20 years. He started his own practice after graduating from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 1987. Dr. Bjornbak grew up in the San Fernando Valley. He started his own dental practice after graduating from the UCLA School of Dentistry in 1987. He has trained with the best cosmetic and sedation dentists to give you the best dental care possible. His practice has state-​of-​the-​art equipment and the office works by the motto «Best Care Anywhere.» Dr. Bjornbak is the member of many organizations including the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the International Association of Orthodontics, and the Crown Council. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Bjornbak is a member of both the Center for Wildlife Conservation and the Center for Marine Conservation.

Great office! Everyone there is so friendly. Every time I’m in there Dr. Bjornbak personally oversees and always asks about me and my business. Makes me feel very comfortable. The last two times my hygienist Debbie Porter personally took care of me. She’s sweet, talks to you the whole time she’s cleaning so the time goes by quickly. Lovely lady, painless cleanings. Makes going to the dentist something to look forward to. Clean office, great staff!

Dr. Bjornbak and the team are great! They are always very professional and a pleasure to be around. I was referred to this office by a friend who was raving about them and she was absolutely right! I was surprised right away with how current they are with all of their equipment and everything. I had a cavity this last time and Dr. B took care of it right away and super quickly. I wasn’t even late for work!
Debbie does my cleanings and she is great! Probably the best dental hygienist I’ve had. She’s fast and gentle.
They are also very helpful with texts and emails reminding you of an appointment. I would definitely recommend this team!

Just started seeing Dr. Bjornbak after being recommended by a friend. I have to say this man is as good as it gets when it comes to dental work. Been there about four times for teeth cleanings and most recently crown work. I just recently cracked a tooth and needed a crown placed on it. I went in two times for this crown, once for a temp and once for the permanent one. Both times I never felt an ounce of pain. I am usually very nervous about shots as I close my eyes anticipating the sharp needle jabbing into my bone. I had to ask him both visits if he had already given the shots because I coudn’t feel a thing when he did it. With some dentists in the past, I would still feel the needle whlle the shot was happening and afterwards as well even with the numbing gel. Not with Dr. Bjornbak. He is such a pro he knows exactly how to do it without causing the patient any discomfort. His assistants are also very friendly and knowledgeable as well. A+ for this office. Come see DR. Bjornbak. Honestly, you’ll be glad you did.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. B’s for years having had everything from regular cleanings to root canals and bridge work. He is highly professional and caring, has a gentle touch and a real eye for detail, making sure his patients look and feel great. There have even been a few times he and his excellent staff have gone out of the way to expedite work to fit my tight schedule. I’m glad to be his patient.

I discovered this terrific dentist from a mailer that was sent to my residence. The various discounted procedures interested me & the location was so close that I made a call & they offered me a free consultation with the doctor that day! I got a quote for a root canal & crown; this is the price you pay, there is no bait & switch. Dr. Bjornbak is the BEST thing about this office although everything is tops! He is kind, professional, warm & personable. Not easy to find in any dentist & I have been to quite a few. He quietly talks you through the procedures so you know what’s going on in your mouth. At the end of the day, he called to check up on me. This is the BEST root canal I’ve ever had, very beautiful work! All the latest dental technology. He even shows you your xrays so you both can go over them together. His office is spotless & the whole staff is friendly & nice. I never had to wait for my appointments, they were always on time! There are so many small extras i.e., cold bottled water in a frig., coffee & dental floss & fresh flowers. There is beautiful, calming photography on the room walls (taken by Dr. Bjornbak, it’s his hobby.) They send thank you notes & give you referral cards; you get $ 50 off a procedure for every one. There is also a wonderful technician for teeth cleaning who did a great job. But the best thing is Dr. Bjornbak — he is a gem!

I have been a patient of Dr. Bjornbak for the past 8 years and have always received excellent care and service. The hygienist is very thorough and Dr. B is all about keeping my teeth and gums healthy. I’ve had deep cleaning treatments to keep the pockets between my molars healthy and on my last visit Dr. B filled in the gap between my teeth and gums to help prevent further recession and maintain the health of my gums. Dr. B also provided me with 4 implants in the front of my mouth. The process took about a year and Dr. B took his time to inform me of my options and assured me every step of the way, that I was receiving the latest in implant technology. I am very happy with the natural look he achieved and I never worry about biting in to an apple. Dr. Bjornbak also including Zoom whitening with my implants, at no extra charge! I couldn’t have found a more caring and conscientious dentist who is passionate about what his work.

I have been with this dentist for the past 7 years. Recently the woman if you can call her that called and harassed my wife over the phone in an attempt to collect 90.00 that I was planning on paying on my upcoming visit. This upset me so much that I located another dentist to perform my cleaning. To my surprise the «new“dentist found 5 cavities and the need of a deep cleaning. I was just at Dr Bjornbak’s office 6 months ago where his exact works were «your gums look great». I seriously doubt that I never had 1 cavity in my 44 years and in 6 months now have these detail issues. This is in addition to their employee disrespecting my wife on the phone for a mere 90.00…pathetic! STAY AWAY

I have been a patient of Dr. Bjornbak’s since he acquired the practice from my previous dentist. I think I have been seeing him for over 20 years. The fact that he is still my dentist should give you a clue that I trust him and am pleased with his work. I read some of the reviews here and scratched my head after reading the negative ones because they don’t make sense to me. I consider Dr. Bjornbak to be friendly, very skilled and up-​to-​date with current dental procedures. I am the kind of person who likes to know what he is doing so he explains each step along the way. I have recommended him to friends and none of them has ever had a negative thing to say. The people who run the front office and those who are his assistants are all friendly and helpful. It might be safe to say that no one really likes going to the dentist but when I go to see Dr. Bjornbak, I always feel confident that my teeth will be in better shape when I leave. I can’t imagine ever changing dentists.

Sherman Oaks Dental one of the most professional services I have ever had the pleasure to be with. Everyone is extremely nice and welcoming. By far the nicest and most competent group of people assembled in one practice. Dr. Bjornbak did an excellent work. He and personnel were completely compassionate to my needs and worked hard to help address my issues. They really spent time talking to me about any problems I had concerning my teeth and any future issues. I have been seeing Dr. Bjornbak at Sherman Oaks Dental for about 8 years now, and he and his team are wonderful. I have sent numerous friends to see him, and they have all been happy as well. Not only is Dr. B extremely knowledgeable, he is also an artist. This is especially important when he is working on my smile, as he understands the aesthetics and knows how to achieve beauty in a smile. I get many, many compliments on my smile. He has done my crowns, he also repaired some very bad dentistry from my childhood, whitened my teeth, and most recently did my Invisiline, which I am very happy about. I highly recommend Dr. Bjornbak!

I see that Dr. Bjornbak has responded. I was charged cash and paid, then he submitted my claim to my insurance company.
I have had to have some of his work that he did re-​done by a new dentist.
Metal fragments from his tools were left under my bridges and in under one of my crowns. I was not told this! New X-​Rays were taken and the fragments were shown to me.

100% pain free. I had a cracked filling that Dr. Bjornbak replaced in a matter of minutes. We talked photography, marriage and The Clash. All of life’s essentials. This was all done sans novacaine, mind you. Look no further, Dr. B is the best.

Horrible. I spent over $ 7000 on veneers, a bridge and a root canal at this place. It was a huge mistake. I was very unsatisfied with the color of my veneers. Dr. Bjornback chose a «natural» color rather than white like I wanted. The process was extremely painful and he sold me a $ 400 pill that supposedly made it painless and was supposed to knock me out. I woke up during the middle of the surgery freaking out. Following the surgery I was sicker than I had ever been for almost a week.
Now here’s why I chose to write a review about this place many years later. Yesterday I had an emergency with the bridge Dr. B put in. It felt like it was falling out and I had an appointment with a beautician minutes from his office. I wanted to stop by for a minute so he could look at it and tell me if I should be worried about it falling out. He refused. I ask to speak with him on the phone. He refused again. I find it very unethical to not take a few minutes out of your day to speak with a customer who spent thousands of dollars at your establishment. It was an emergency and he simply did not care. Luckily I found Dr. Thay who was great.

Dr B and his staff are the best! They have rebuilt my mouth and it is the cleanest/​strongest it has ever been! Been with him for 7+ years and have referred numerous patients. Lizette is also the best! I have a horrible fear of dentists and they put me at ease each and every time. Someone mentioned waiting? I have NEVER waited even 10 minutes to be seen. I call BS on that review. Trust me, go to him!

I was a new customer here and got a pretty good deal for X-​rays and a cleaning, but it’s much more of a commercial style dentist set up. The dentist quickly stopped in, and I felt like he didn’t really check for cavities and the state of my teeth like my usual dentist does, although maybe the new X-​rays I got he was able to tell. I also met with the doctor before my cleaning, which seemed odd, as if the hygienist had found anything unusual once we started the cleaning, would he have come back? I also had to wait nearly 30 minutes between the dentist seeing me and before my cleaning started, so I was glad I brought a book with me. But the cleaning was $ 84 I think and I didn’t have insurance, so I thought that was pretty reasonable.

I’m one of those types that’s terrified by dentists. Had an exceptionally horrific run-​in with Navy dentistry (two impacted wisdom teeth cracked into pieces and cut out of my skull by a Reservist lieutenant late for a golf game… the novocaine kicked in about 5 minutes after he was done), which made it, shall we say, emotionally challenging to get myself into a dentist chair for the next decade or so.
My wife found Dr B through one of her actor friends, and was highly recommended as a dentist specializing in sedation dentistry. After a gentle prod or two, I made an appointment.
In one visit, I went from someone who’d rather attend an Amway convention while suffering from explosive diarrhea than sit in a dentist’s chair to actually *trusting* this guy. Dr Bjornbak is friendly, funny, genuine, proactive, caring, and spot-​on professional. He was very clear on the specifics of my treatment plan, made sure I understood everything, and ensured that my procedure was pain-​free. The sedation dentistry aspect of his practice is honestly a lifesaver for people like me.
I’ve had two ‘major’ visits to Dr B to get my mouth back in healthy shape, and after each visit, he would call that evening to check in and see how I was feeling.
His front office staff are superb, his assistants are top-​notch, and his latest dental hygienist does a fantastic job. His office, just off the 101 in Sherman Oaks, is easily accessible.
I’ve recommended him to several employees and co-​workers, and they’ve all reported similar experiences.
Bottom line — if you’re terrified of going to the dentist — this is the one you want to see.
