Darn I really wish I checked the reviews before I ate here. This place got me so mad I hopped on Unilocal even though I’m really late for my class. HOW do you mess up California roll??? Not cool. Since that’s all I ordered with the miso soup I have nothing left to add other than I’m not coming back here unless I’m in desperate need to waste my money.

Worst worst place to go too extremely horrible customer service, there’s a girl In the cash register who’s always talking about sniffing coke, there’s a boy in the back cleaning tables and spitting on the floors, they reuse ginger if it’s untouched, they reuse napkins and wasabi as well not to mention the food is always under cooked. The employee s give attitude all the time. I hope they get a new staff soon very rude rude rude employee’s

Oh my gosh what a rip off! I’m sorry I have to write this review. I happen to like San sai it’s the only fast food restaurant I eat at. BUT I cannot let this go: tonight I asked if I could order the steak and Cali roll plate(9.99)but substitute shrimp for the steak. I was prepared to pay extra, the tab was 14.00, no problem it’s Friday night. Got home and discovered I was way over charged. A Cali roll is 3.99 I got one of those and one shrimp skewer(a shrimp skewer costs a couple of bucks) The shrimp plate comes with 2 skewers of shrimp and a vegetable skewer as well and yes, I was hungry. I’m not going to call and complain, nor am I going to return.

My first review as an ELITE woohoo! I really like San Sai been coming here for years… The prices are fair and I tend to like their sushi roll combos… The Red Dragon roll at this location is my fav… Sometimes they lack customer service when they get orders wrong… There is plenty of parking since it’s in a strip mall.

Updating my review… used to be a regular customer. Until I saw the owner reusing the forks people leave behind. Also where they give you the teriyaki little containers are reused. She washes them and refills them with teriyaki. No joke. Beware.

I love my quick stops at SanSai; and the service is kind and efficient. The food quality is always consistent. SanSaii is always clean!!! If their serving containers were not heavily polystyrene based, I’d get food to go more frequently. I always want to take in my own containers.

Terrible sushi. I was unable to take a bite off of a hand roll. The seaweed they use must be the cheapest on the market, otherwise I don’t understand why it was so tough. Fish tastes plain awful and the side salads are nasty and poorly dressed. No way I’ll eat here again. Yuck!

I’m not usually a three star giving kind of person, but I’m compelled to review this place because my experience was so conflicting. On one hand, the customer service was exceptional. Hands down, they were all really genuine and kind. The menu offerings were decent, and I always appreciate a place that lists calories. However, the food was less than good. I got the spicy sashimi salad. The sashimi was actually just salmon tossed in some sort of sauce. The tomato was sad, bland. More like a New York wintertime tomato than a SoCal summer tomato. And the fish was frozen solid in the middle. They explained that they needed to keep the refrigeration very low and they absolutely offered to make it up to me. I hope they are able to come up with a solution.

I love there salmon plate. Very fresh and tasty. When ever I’m in the area I stop and order the same thing. Service good, quick, fresh and clean. The owner always has a good attitude. I recommended.

Not bad — just average. I only come here when I want a quick salad combo to go. Wouldn’t eat anything else from here …

Good lunch spot. Lots of variety of Japanese food from sushi to teriyaki bowls and salads. The prices are so decent that I end up ordering lunch for my co workers. Thanks for the good service San Sai!

To be honest, the food itself only deserves a three star review but there is a bonus star here for very good customer service — specifically John at the counter — in addition to the fact that it is the healthiest fast food within a mile either way on Ventura. Menu includes chicken bowls, salmon bowls, spicy tuna bowls and the like — white rice or brown rice — and each combo is served with not one but two salads. Salads are actually worthwhile, specifically the Oriental and the Sumi, but perhaps a tad bit overdressed. The portions are responsible and will leave you fulfilled. The sushi is limited and somewhere between grocery store caliber and all you can eat caliber, quality-wise. Prices are right — three people can eat for $ 30 — and parking can be a little tricky. Overall, you could do worse. You can do better — but you can do much worse. Enjoy.

This spot is ok. When you really think at this place is reasonably priced for the typ if food you are getting. Tw problem though oat that there is a disconnect between the ambience and the price of your meal. When you walk in there you would expect I pay no more than like 8 bucks. But by the time you leave you can’t walk out without spending at least 12. I know that doesn’t seem like much but I nevertheless walk out of there feel in unfulfilled. The reason I come here is more of a matter of convenience than it is out of love for this place. The other thin is that even if there is nobody before you in line be prepared to wait at least ten minutes. Once again this is not really a problem considering the typ of food you are getting. But everything about the way they present themselves would lead you to believe they are a quick cheap dining spot when in reality they aren’t. The food is good though…

I’ve visited a few times and enjoyed the food. Their sushi is ok. Great for beginners as they really only have the more commonly known rolls and other plates for non sushi eaters. Today I enjoyed a Philly roll, which disappointingly didn’t have smoked salmon but was still delicious followed by miso soup and spring rolls. The later of my order is pretty hard to mess up but my order was cooked perfectly. My friend had ordered a salmon and roll combination and he really enjoyed his meal. It’s fast, healthy food and its decently priced. Customer service is good and the place is always clean. I have no complaints except parking. It’s a bunch of businesses mushed together with not enough parking but there is some parking behind fatburger directly across the st from the plaza.
