I highly recommend Oren and his company. He is professional and responsive. He installed a new garage door opener in my garage and when my condo building was having a problem with the main garage gate, he came out to diagnose the problem at no charge. My old garage door finally gave out and based on the outstanding Unilocal reviews, I called Socal Garage Door. Have to say I was, and is still, impressed with the level of service. Spoke to Oren, who sent out Koby, to check our door. And he came out THE SAME DAY AS PROMISED! Woo! Hoo! Koby was friendly, knowledgable, and made useful recommendations. Kody came to the rescue on a Friday afternoon when my garage would not open and close properly. He diagnosed the problem quickly, and installed a new device which only cost me around $ 200 (compared to buying a new garage opener which would have cost me at least $ 600). The solution worked like a charm, and I can now used my garage with complete peace of mind. He even threw in a small gift as part of the installation. Thanks Kody!

Impressive service and knowledge!!! I called in this morning and Kody was out in less than an hour. He was able to diagnose the problem with my garage door and opener very quickly and provide a solution. He also informed me that the highly advertised garage door company that sold me my garage door and opener had sold me the wrong opener! A new garage door opener is going to be needed soon and you can bet I will be calling Oren and Kody back to install it.

I was having some trouble with my garage door, it was only going half down. I tried doing some quick troubleshooting i.e. making sure sensors were clear, checked track for obstacles, etc. but no luck. Fortunately, I came across this Unilocal page and Socal Garage Door and Gate Repair exceeded all my expectations. Oren was able to come over within a few hours of our phone call. He was very professional and courteous and immediately began troubleshooting the door. He was able to fix the door within a very short time and gave us a great price for his work. I texted Oren about a broken spring on our garage door around 9:00 pm and he told me to send him a picture of the spring and he would give me a price for the job. So I sent him a pic, he gave me a fair price and came out the next day and fixed the garage door. His repairman (Koby?) was friendly, explained what was wrong and what he was going to do and he did a great job and cleaned up everything before he left.

My friend tried to save me money and installed my garage door and opener.
But as usually happens in such «helping situations» the garage door didn’t work…:(
I found garage door service repairs on Unilocal and set an appointment.
Oren came right on the date and time we had set.
He was very professional and in a matter of 5 minutes found the problem which was in The way it was wired by my friend.
Oren repaired the problem quickly and about 20 minutes later I had a working garage door.
With a smile on my face we said goodbye.:)

I would recommend these people to the sitting Senators of California, and to the entire Supreme Court. The owner answers his phone himself and moves mountains and streams to help you. I have called upon them twice, the first time when the garage door just came off of its tracks and hung halfway to the ground, and the second time when the same garage door needed weather stripping replacement.
The first technician was 6’7″ and so incredibly polite and he LISTENS! The second technician Cody … well he is like your instant newest best friend.
When the owner came out to bring supplies, I knew I had chosen the right company.
For those reading this review, you have my most heartfelt recommendation for this company.

Had an issue with a sliding gate refusing to close. Oren told me the opener was discontinued and parts were very hard to get — in his opinion the best option would be to replace the opener. The distributor was more than happy to sell me whatever parts I wanted when I called them that afternoon, or I could have used their website. For what it’s worth, he did come the same day I called.
Update: Oren has promised to refund the service fee due to the bad review. He might be fine with brands that are common in the L.A. area, but he needs to say «Sorry, we don’t have a relationship with that vendor» instead of coming out and charging for trying to service equipment he knows he can’t get parts for.

I opened my garage today and that’s where my problems started! Everything just messed up it the garage door fell apart. I called a couple of people to come out I got responses like the earliest we can be there is in about two days!!! I had a great experience with So Cal Garage Door Service last week. I called mid-​morning as my garage door wouldn’t open and within two hours, Kobi was at my door. He was thorough, professional and fair. He was able to assess the problem and give me options for repair as well as future enhancements that we could make to improve our garage door mechanisms.
It is refreshing to have service providers that aren’t trying to take advantage of you when you’re having a critical need. Kobi is a smart young man and knows his way around a garage door… and then some. I highly recommend his family owned company for repair and service needs.

We have a roll up door in an industrial complex. It was 6:00 p.m. on a rainy night and our roll up door would not close. We called 5 places and were told several different prices. All 5 companies eventually (after us having to wait for an answer) told us that they could not service out door that night– not to mention, it was also raining. We got lucky when we reached SoCal Garage Door and Gadi came out within an hour to service the door. He not only fixed it, he took the time to make sure that all areas of the door were in working order. Because of his attention to detail and his ability to service our needs after hours and during a rainstorm– we will always only call SoCal Garage Door for all of our repair needs. Don’t even bother with the other local companies– this is your best and safest bet for sure.

My garage door decided it wouldn’t open anymore. Turns out we had 2 broken springs, called up SoCal garage door a nice young man by the name of Koby showed up within 45 minutes of our call and saw the problem as soon as he came into the garage. He showed me what was wrong and explained the process and even let me watch while he did the repair! It’s nice to call a company who comes prepared with all of the needed parts. These guys are highly recommended! Ask for Koby as he was cool to chat with while he did the job!

Completely unprofessional! I called on Oct 30th to make an appointment to have someone come out and give us a Fence quote on a new one for our house. Gave the guy my address, phone number and everything he needed. Said he would be here today at 9am.
940am no show. So I called and he said he had no appointments this morning.
I told him he was the one I spoke too, gave him all my info and he said he would be here. sounded like he was the one who owns the company.
then he proceeded to give me some excuse about his EA was gone last week.
NOT my problem!
Then he said it could be on a different day. Whatever! if that’s how you run your business I don’t want any part of it!

He recommended a new garage door, when we’re ready, as opposed to making small fixes that can always add up. Our door is still in working order, but when it comes time to replace I will absolutely call Socal Garage Door and Gate Service. It’s so nice when you get service with a smile and no BS whatsoever. Both my gate and garage door decided to give up the ghost in the same week and my usual guy had moved out of the area. Found SoCal on Unilocal,called them up, had an appointment for the next day within five minutes.
The polite tech showed up on time and quickly and accurately assessed the problems with both the door and the gate. He had the correct springs for the door fix on his truck, gave me a quote, I okayed the job and he finished it within 25 minutes (I opted to wait on the gate fix).
It’s been several weeks and the garage door is working perfectly. So all this sounds great, right? Well it was/​is, except I do believe the price was very high to replace the door springs, nearly 600. bucks. The tech explained that nearly half of that was labor, but then proceeded to install them in less than a half hour.
Good, fast, cheap — pick two, right? SoCal was good and fast, and it was my choice to have them get the job done right then and not shop around for the best quote. But the amount I paid left a bad tast in my mouth, and left one star off this review.

I am so glad I read the Unilocal reviews and called them for service on my friends gates and controllers. The gentleman arrived, was very pleasant and in the terrible heat and direct sun kept working away on the OLD gates and programmed when others might have given up! He then programmed two extra remotes and my friend was thrilled. Definitely recommend Socal Garage

Our gate stopped working, and I first called another gate company. The guy came out, told us that the motor we had was terrible and that they have problems all the time. He swore it was the Motherboard and that they break down like crazy. He said he’d need to fix or replace it, but with no warrantee. We had a choice of $ 800 or $ 2500 to fix the whole thing (which he reallly thought we should do).
I decided to get a second opinion, and I’m so glad I did. I called Socal Garage Door & Gate Services. Ohan came out the next morning. He was very nice and personable. He said «These are really good motors», totally opposite from the first guy. He then started checking things out and realized that our plug to the motor was not hot. We plugged into a different box, gate started working right away. He made a couple of adjustments, and the gate is working properly. He only charged us $ 75 and suggested that since we have kids we get a photo sensor (which is not much $ 200) because it’s much safer when you have kids. He said he’d be glad to do it for us whenever we were ready.
I am so glad that I called for that second opinion and that Ohan was so personable and honest. I can’t recommend him enough. This is our new gate company without a doubt!!!

So I called these guys earlier today wanting a garage door and the guy who answered the phone told me I can have somebody there and 15 minutes I was like wow. OK good start for now. Really for a free estimate; OK
A gentleman by the name of Kobe showed up gave me a bid told me he can have the door in the same day. Price was very reasonable I have to say and the owner gave me a discount to top it off.
If there is it anything else That I haven’t mentioned for you call these guys I don’t know what else there is. You want prompt professional service no questions asked give these guys a buzz the kicker was the guy who came to install. His name was Juan. I was kind of hesitant to wonder what kind of work he’s going to do when he showed up but man I have to say this dude is one strong guy. By himself he knocked out the whole installation of the garage door brand-​new ready to rock.
These guys are the real deal man hands down

I called regarding a gate that was stuck open. He came out in less than an hour. He showed me the different control modules and how to reset them.
NO CHARGE.

HIRE OREN!!! Don’t waste your time, money or sanity dealing with the numerous crooks in this field.
My liftmaster sliding gate motor died after only three years due to electrical issues. I was very upset to have to replace it and received several completely inflated quotes. I found Oren on Angie’s List and Unilocal and discovered that all of his amazing reviews are completely accurate. You can TRUST this guy! Oren was an excellent communicator who provided a very reasonable quote, excellent service, and exemplary professionalism through out the process. I just wish he did all kinds if contracting, I would hire him for anything and everything due to his superior work ethic.
Work completed: Replaced lift master motor for sliding gate with all ‘omatic 100 motor, keypad, motion sensors, and helped coordinate/​over see electrical re-​wire.
