Meet the Manager
Martha M.
Manager
The reason voiceover seems so simple is because the people who do it well make it look easy. It takes both talent and skill. The quality of your voice is only part of the equation. Voiceover is an art. It’s acting… without the benefit of getting to use facial expressions or body movement. It takes the ability to convey emotion and information, to make us believe that you are speaking your words, not reading a script.
If you want to be successful and have longevity in this incredibly competitive profession — you need to work at it. Don’t skimp on the basics. Train with the best. Practice regularly. Get your skills up-to-speed. Never stop learning. Styles are ever-changing and you need to keep current. It takes time and energy to be good at something and the people who are successful in this business are not just good — they’re great!
But the great news is… if you work at it and are good — it can be an incredibly fun, rewarding, and often lucrative career.
