The Playroom is an indoor play space and party place for the 5 & under crowd. «The Hot Spot for Tots». We Specialize in weekday open Play and incredible weekend Celebrations!

Our purpose is to inspire children to think, create, and play freely in a fun, safe and clean environment.

We are a shoe less environment, socks are required for Adults at ALL Times.

On the weekends, we offer completely private Funtastic Events! From Birthday party celebrations, to baby Showers, christenings, babies bris, adoptions. Whether Big or Small we Celebrate them All. Let us help you make it the best celebration ever!

History

Established in 2007.

The Playroom is run by OWNER/​FOUNDER Suzanne Altman and her great staff. Years back after taking her then small son to a playroom where he ended up very sick and in the hospital, Suzanne wanted to create a place where kids could come and play that was clean, safe and fun. Parents can bring there kids to play and celebrate in a clean, safe, secure, & fun environment where they can play, celebrate their birthdays and both parents and kids can have a great time.

Suzanne is the mom of 3 boys. She spent years working in corporate America as a specialist dealing with daily operations to help others run their businesses and be successfull. Suzanne has experience in many varied fields from Insurance, to Matchmaking to the Audio Visual market.

After visiting an indoor play center when her now 13 year old son was just 1 and contracting an awful virus from unsanitary conditions, which put him in the hospital for almost a week, she decided it was time to open and run her own place. Under the circumstances, what better than a clean, safe place where children could play and have fun. Within 7 months, The Playroom opened it’s doors in Sherman Oaks and continues to put smiles on the faces of kids daily.

Suzanne takes pride in opening her doors and heart daily to her clients to offer a safe place for families and their little ones to play and celebrate.

I’m back with another review– this time 5 STARS. I literally come almost everyday because I feel it’s an extension of my living room and it’s better because I don’t have to «clean up». :).
I really can’t say enough about the staff who call my son by name and are so sweet to him. I really like the fact that the girls are always cleaning something, whether it’s the bathroom or wiping down the little bikes or the slide etc. Sadly, the PLAYROOM is cleaner than my house.
Crystal and Irene are either always cleaning something or being sweet to the kids. I have NEVER seen them on their cell phone which for me is a big deal– they are both A+ employees, truly.

I take my daughter here very regularly, she loves this place. It’s perfect for toddler age 4 & below. The reception girl are okay somewhat friendly, but I have notice that they don’t pay attention (on there cell phones 75% time) to what’s going on around them. Issue #1 allowing bigger kids to come in a play with the little ones. Issue #2 some parents come with their kids and not pay attention to what the kid is doing. I think the receptionist should be aware of this, to enforce the parents to be responsible for their own child, specially when the child is being rude, pushing, hitting other kids that are there to have a good time. I will be calling in to make a formal complaint, I’m not a crazy picky mom but today was horrible for my daughter!

This play place is good for kids five and younger. They have a toddler area. One jumper, a rock climbing wall, ride alone toys etc. The entrance is 9 dollars per child. I have been here alot of times. I evenet the owner she is a very nice young lady. They sell snacks here and let you bring in food. They do require everyone to wear soaks. They sell them there for 2 dollars

The first time I went to The Playroom was for an event last year, Dinner w/​Elmo. They provided pizza while Elmo came & played w/​the kids. After that, I went a handful of times during the summer. It can get pretty crowded in the summer, but I like it because it’s one big square (or rectangle) room, but a small enough space to be able to keep your eye on your child playing at all times (so you don’t have to chase them around from room to room). I also like the variety of toys to play with, including the bouncy house, the small ball pit, the many cars to ride around, the bouncy horses, a slide, a small area for the littler ones, and a climbing wall for the «older» kids. I chose to have my son’s 2nd birthday here because of the small intimate space (30 adults & 15 kids). I felt like the parents could eat & socialize & enjoy themselves while still being able to watch their kids play. I considered 4 – 5 different places before booking The Playroom but decided on The Playroom because they offered the most bang for your buck. I really liked that they included a dozen balloons, pizza & juice, face-​painting (although nobody did it at our party), and an activity, which for us was the parachute. I took my party decorations a few days before and the 2 gals set most of it up before we arrived. They allowed me to have say in where to put what. They were also helpful in watching the time, facilitating the cake/​singing, and the parachute activity. They packaged up all the gifts & set up the party favor table, which was very helpful. They really did a great job. Also, they included for all the guests, one free pass to come back. No other party place offered this — they only offered ONE to the birthday kid. A few of my guests commented it was one of the most fun party places their kid had gone to. I was really happy w/​how it turned out. The owner, Suzanne, was really easy & friendly to work with. & most importantly, it seemed like all the kids had a ball. A few of them cried because they didn’t want to leave. My son had a blast.

This is the only indoor playground that I love in the entire SFV especially for kids 1 – 5, it’s perfect. They are super clean. They wipe down the entire place every couple hours. And there is nothing scary that would be of harm to your kids. Safest place and super fun. My son has celebrated his bdays there. Love it!

We booked our foster daughter’s adoption party here, and Suzanne and her team couldn’t have been more accommodating and generous with the help they provided. Evelyn was one of our party helpers and I only wish I could have afforded to give her a $ 100 tip! She was that great. The owner, Suzanne, offered to get party supplies for us, which was unexpected and so cool! I didn’t take her up on it, but she had the right color scheme for the day of, so it worked out! Everyone had a great time, and their hallway area made an exceptional place for our costume characters to change. Ample parking in the garage and late Saturday parties don’t have to deal with validation. Elevator access and easy to see from Ventura Blvd. Price is fair and competitive and I even got an extra hour at a great rate. It’s nice that they have party packages, but it’s even better to just rent the space and design the party the way you want. Thank you again!

I’ve been bringing my 4 yr. old grand-​daughter here for about a year. She loves it. It’s very clean, plenty of space to run around in and lots of toys to play with. My daughter had her 4th birthday party here and wow, I must say it was fantastic. The staff are always friendly and the party was no different. Not only friendly but helpful with setup, making sure all the children were happy and having a good time. I highly recommend this place for any child under 5 years old for a clean, safe, friendly and fun environment.

Fantastic place for our little 2 year old. Safe, open, clean and in a great location. Lots to keep our small child occupied and stimulate their physical development including a climbing wall. Parking has always been available. Staff are always friendly, straightening, watching for safety, reducing clutter, and enforcing play rules as needed to make this a fair play place.

Having a three-​year-​old you get to try out these kinds of places pretty often nowadays. We came here for a fun party with one of our friends birthdays and they had everything set up perfectly. Some of the toys were really fun to play with particularly the rock climbing wall. They had a little separate area where you can have food and have cake and stuff like that. The staff is really friendly. What strikes me as unique about this place compared other was it was pretty clean inside where most of the spots give you the ability to see the entire place from one position was nice because you can watch your kid from anywhere in the place. One of the only other places I’ve been to like that is in La Canada so this one ranks up there among the top indoor playground. Only thing a little difficult was the parking but I’m pretty sure it’s just like that in that area. I would come back if I lived a little closer and it was nice to receive One admission free with the party package. Check the place out even the bathrooms are clean.

This is exactly what we were looking for!
I just celebrated my sons 3rd birthday here on Sunday. My wife and I were looking for a play space that would provide a safe and clean environment for our friends and family– and The Playroom delivered.
Before we decided to call, we looked all over Unilocal for a venue like this and what made us choose the Playroom was the owner’s story/​mission statement: to provide a clean space for children to play. A germ free environment that provided hours of fun for our two little boys to enjoy, this place was perfect.
We purchased the small package that provided pizza and juice boxes for all 15 of the kids we invited. We were allowed to enjoy the space for a total of two hours.
The staff was very accommodating. They allowed us to show up early with all of our decorations and gifts. They set up our decorations, cut the cake, served the food, helped sing happy birthday (a lil off key, but that’s cool), and even bagged up and carried the gifts to our car for us. We didn’t worry about clean up, because let’s be honest, that’s why parents choose places like this to have parties– we want to celebrate without the stress of it all– and the Playroom was the perfect stress free party venue. We loved it. Drove home smiling.
While we were there we enjoyed a non stop array of Bob Marley tunes via the commercial free pandora station that they provided — that was cool. The kids had so much fun. This truly is a great place for birthdays and play dates (children 5 and under is the target demographic). Plenty of space for kids to run around, great selection of toys, a jumper, rock climbing wall, large pit of balls for crazy kids to jump in. It was awesome.
As part of our package every guest received a pass to come back for free, which I thought was really cool. We will definitely return.

My family and I visited this place for a birthday party on a Sunday afternoon.
Parking was a little confusing since they seemed to have said they were reserved. On a weekday I can not imagine how crazy the parking can be in this center since there are so many other businesses.
I was not impressed with this place. I do not know how long they have been in business but some of the toys looked really run down and used. Like they were second hand toys.
The playhouse with the kitchen lacked being a complete kitchen. It could use some plates and fake food.
The jumper in my opinion is dangerous. The ceilings are too low.
There is a lot of open space but way too many different cars for the kids to ride on. I can see that getting crazy if there are many kids in there at a time.
The only reason for my 3 stars is because my kids did have fun. The workers were super great and attentive. They do maintain the facility really clean and neat.
I don’t think I’ll be visiting again on my own though

My girls love going to the playroom! They always have a good time. Few things that I like besides my girls having a blast; they don’t charge for adults, just don’t forget your socks and you can brining food in. They have a great eating area setup. If you plan to go often, more than once a week, the unlimited a month package is worth it.

My first time here, just moved to a temp house in the area while doing work on our home.
We had a neighborhood spot that both my kids love, when they walked I to this new place they felt right at home. Skipped naps to stay longer too. We will definitely be back. Also, the girl at the front desk was charming and kind.

Can I add that I love the music selection too… freaking hysterical and just right for the kids. Staff forever cleaning up behind the kids with sanitation wipes. By the way free 2hr parking with validation in the underground parking.
Yes, they even have an area to take snack breaks because it is very easy for kids to spend more than 2hrs here playing.

This place is just ok. I wasn’t super impressed. I was there for a kid’s party, but everything seems a little disorganized and a little dirty. The bathroom was nice in clean, so that was nice. I think the one thing I really didn’t like it the way were (all attendants of the party) told our party time was up. I think they could have been more tactful about it.

They help with food and drinks.
All kids get party favors.
Cons:
Not really for kids over the age of 4.
The toys seem a bit dirty.
Staff does not know how to gracefully tell everyone, the party is over.
