2015 was a very rough year for me financially. I tried to do everything in my power not to file bk. With grandiose stress and creditors not working with me even though I was not behind on ANY payments. My body was stressed out, hair falling out, not eating or sleeping I began my search for the most reputable BK lawyers. When I finally made an appointment to get the facts, I was so happy I did! Greg and his office were very welcoming, and I was able to get in to see him a few days after I initially called. As a single mom helping my daughter go to nursing school, while she didn’t work. All my credit cards started getting maxed out. Fast forward –now I’m stuck in a bind financially –do I stop paying some of my credit cards or file bankruptcy? I was going to use someone I knew, but felt really embarrassed, I didn’t want anyone to know. I hate being a failure. Yesterday 6/​13/​15-​what came in the mail was my discharge letter, with the exception of keeping my car, I’m now free from debt.

We had gradually accumulated insurmountable credit card debt over the years, a lot of it at a 30% interest rate (often starting at an introductory zero percent). We didn’t want to declare bankruptcy, and besides, with our situation we’d still be on a payment plan that would provide little relief.

Greg handed me a packet of papers and encouraged me to take them home, call with questions and take my time to consider whether we wanted to enter their program. Our decision to retain them was one of the best ones we have ever made.

Forget every Lawyer joke you have ever heard. When you call these guys, you will wonder why they ever existed.
I don’t have a lot of experience with Attorneys in general and I don’t know anyone who has filed for Bankruptcy so I had no references to go by. I literally found them on a Google search when I was desperate (not a good time to shop for representation).
When my last attempt at short sale fell through, it was 7pm on a Wednesday and my home was up for foreclosure auction the next morning at 9am. It was 7pm at night, I had called several numbers, left messages and received a couple of calls back turning me down as a client.
Then Greg Shanfeld called me back. He was at home, clearly settled in for the evening. I was convinced he was going to tell me he could not help me but he didn’t. On the contrary, he listened, asked questions and then asked me if I could meet him at his office for a 9:30pm meeting.
