Wild Wings

This place is beautiful! We randomly stopped on our walk back from lunch and were greeted by a nice man named Scott and his intelligent parrot, Tinkerbell. Such a fun place with all sorts of exciting options. We walked away with a stunning and reasonably priced hummingbird feeder. We will absolutely be back!

I highly recommend Wild Wings. They offer a great selection of bird nests, feeders, and seed. Nice, knowledgeable people, and products you couldn’t get in a «big box» store. Wild Wings is the kind of store that gives neighborhoods and communities character.
I found Wild Wings several years ago when I was looking for a hummingbird feeder. I ended up purchasing a hummingbird feeder with four hand made glass holders and 4 glass feeding tubes. Over the years, I’ve broken various components, and Scott, the owner, has ordered replacements and helped my figure out what I was doing wrong so I haven’t broken any in over a year (Thank you, Scott!).
Last year Scott came to my home and helped figure out what kinds of boxes and bird feeders would work best and even installed an owl box! This spring has brought a multitude of birds, and several birds have used the nesting boxes.

Beautiful little shop that specializes in bird feeds and accessories. I came here for my peacock and ended up buying a bunch of different feeds for my home. The owners are kind and knowledgeable about birds and are always willing to help! Wonderful store and great customer service! If you love birds this is the place for you!

I discovered this store from a google search. I recently have become enamored of our feather friends and had a few feeders up. I wanted to buy more feeders and food. I had been buying bird seed at home depot which is not far from me. I went to the place, and it’s definitely true the owner knows his birds but that’s not my big issue. The feeders and other items in the store are overpriced. After spending over $ 200 for bird seed and feeders etc, two things had problems. One is the mesh bag I bought to put the special black thistle seed in to attract the goldfinches. When I got home and tried to put the seed in, they just spilled right out of the bag. I wasted 6 bucks there. I also bought this seed catcher thingie because one of my feeders contains sunflower seeds and it gets pretty messy on the porch. Well it’s poorly designed and I have to go to home depot to buy different chains and hooks to even install it! And the item was not cheap! I sent an email to the owner concerning the mesh bag that it would not hold the seed that it was designed for and I got no answer back. I figure there was no point sending him an email regarding the seed holder.
So in a nutshell, The prices are way to high, he won’t give you support or respond if the products he sells are defective. Aside from that, I want to add the store doesn’t have THAT much in the way of bird feeders and or products. It does feature a variety but I was underwhelmed.. If he got such high awards as a wild bird store, that doesn’t say a lot for the other stores. If you want to know a lot of birds join your local Audubon like I did, Membership is cheap and you go on bird walks and learn about the different birds. Buy your seed at home depot, it’s cheaper. And they also have a lot of feeders, or buy your feeders online for less.

It’s not until you walk into a store like this that you really grasp what we have lost as a society overrun by chain stores. The owners are an incredible local resource – knowledgeable and helpful and actually invested in what they do. Every time I go into the store I learn something about local wildlife here in the Valley. I wish there were more stores like this one.

Wildlife have saved my life. At a time when I was facing darkest moment in my life. Volunteering and working with wildlife saved me. I have always loved birds and all critters. Our home is a wildlife sanctuary and always had been however I wasn’t quite sure how to feed or attract more. I found Wild Wings which is in my neighborhood! I emailed the store and requested a backyard consultation. Scott came out and our garden is thriving with more birds than ever. This has changed our lives. My husband is happy too. Thanks Wild Wings! I love your store and all our knowledge. Plus they do awesome bird walks too.

Lovely staff! Its easy to tell that they really care about birds. Called them for advice on a fledgeling I’d found and spoke with a very nice man who gave me a lot of advice that I hadn’t heard or read anywhere else.
He said I could put the fledgeling in a shallow box and put it in a bush or tree UP To 40 feet away from where I had found it because it will call its parents. Then watch the box from far away for a few hours to see if its parents find it. Of course its best to put it in a box as close as possible to where it came from. He also told me that its a myth that birds will reject their young if you have touched them because they don’t have a good sense of smell.

I’ve purchased several different kinds of bird feeders from Wildwings, and get all my seed from them. I’m really happy with the quality of their products and their service. My garden is constantly filled with all kinds of birds — natures best form of insect control!

Fabulous bird walk given by Scott of Wild Wings Backyard Nature Store
. This was my second such bird walk but this time in the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Preserve. We saw a junior cooper’s hawk, red tailed hawk, turkey vultures, pelicans, geese, ducks (all kinds, like a muscovy duck, a ring necked duck, mallard ducks, pekin ducks), ospreys, belted kingfishers, woodpeckers, black phoebes, say’s phoebe, rabbit, crows, bluebirds, yellow rumped warblers, woodpeckers, spotted towhees, california brown towhees, sparrows, grackles, finches, great blue herons, green herons, egrets, cormorants, grebes, to name a few! So many birds, it was great!

First of all, stop by for some of your Christmas and Holiday shopping. Unique items, especially for kids.
Scott and Bonnie are the married couple that run the place. Their bird seed is the best, and worth the drive. Why? I had a combination of 23 golden finches and lesser golden finches on one of my backyard feeders at one time! Many of the seeds are bird specific, so that you can encourage a type of bird you may want to attract and watch.
The store also has various feeders, water dispensers, books, games, chimes, binoculars, etc. They also arrange for experts to bring in various raptors, and other birds for a show and discuss.
Their prices are very competitive.

The yards of my sisters, Mother and myself are a true testament to the joy we all experience with the adventures of birding right at home. The credit goes directly to Scott and Bonnie at Wild Wings — the best example of a «Mom and Pop» business where they truly care about their customers by stocking high quality seeds and «critter» food products with a complete variety of feeders, poles, bird nesting houses and bird baths. This all comes with their knowledge of any area of birding — we’ve learned so much! To add to your backyard charm they have a beautiful array of wind chimes and other decorative additions to make your yard a haven. The children’s area of the store has great teaching tools and gifts. Also, if you’re looking for «made in USA» products you’ll be happy to find them here throughout the store. We do!
We come here from Simi Valley and Canyon Country and it’s a pleasure to make the trip. We learn something every time!

I received a gift of finch feeder and 2 hummingbird feeders from a friend at Christmas-​time 2 years ago – beautifully wrapped from Wild Wings. Since then, I have a steady business of hummingbirds and gorgeous yellow finches at my feeders and it delights me everyday to see such beauty from my kitchen window. I go into the store regularly to buy seed and gifts for friends. The owners are helpful and are virtual encyclopedias of bird-​life. I highly recommend Wild Wings! If you feel like you can’t get out to see birds in the wild, go into Wild Wings and get expert advice and beautiful feeders to bring them to your yard.

Charming shop with unique gifts, garden accessories, and lots of stuff for birds or butterflies. The lady running the shop is very friendly and informative. I ended up purchasing a pretty humming bird feeder.

Not only does this store have fresh supplies and very nice choices for feeding your backyard wildlife, Scott and Bonnie are very knowledgeable and friendly. They remember you, they remember your wildlife stories and they are sincerely interested in answering your questions. Scott is an encyclopedia of information and I’m always fascinated with what I learn from him. It’s even just a lovely place to meander around, especially that they have a window filled with butterfly that are beautiful to watch.
I first came to the store to buy nuts for one squirrel and now months later I’m a regular customer, feeding the squirrels (notice the plural, she invited the neighborhood) but this hobby now includes birds. So please give yourself a break from your busy lives and crazy traffic and stop by this store. You’ll be happy you did!

We found Wild Wings a few years back and it has become a family favorite! Scott has knowledge of everything winged! It’s just wonderful.

My husband found this place on the internet after our Wild Birds Unlimited on Ventura Blvd. went out of business a few years ago. The next closest WBU was Marina Del Rey!
Not wanting to buy the old stale warehoused year-​old bird food at Petco (we actually WANT birds in our yard!) we stopped by Wild Wings to check it out.
Scott and Bonnie have a wonderful little shop, the bird food is fresh and they’re always glad to see us. Every now and then there are wildlife specialists who come by with animals and give presentations. Always fun and informative.
Wild Wings is truly one of those awesome little neighborhood spots you’re lucky to find, enjoy stopping by and want to support.

LOVE this store! They have an amazing and unique selection of wild bird products for your yard! The owners are super sweet, knowledgable and very helpful (you can tell this is their passion) They also sell a variety of novelty gifts (i.e. LOVE their candles or different rock/​art formations for your yard or inside your home) and while you’re checking out their great products they have this beautiful display of live butterflies inside their store to admire as well!

I stumbled upon this place purely by accident.
Nice, quiet little out of the way place. When you walk in, they have a full butterfly sanctuary, that is just enjoyable to take in. There’s also a fair bit of various bird feeds, garden accessories, books and binoculars for bird watching.
What sold me on the place is watching this little girl timidly ask one of the employees if she could release one of the butterflies into the wild. He was glad to do it, selected a pretty one, handed it to the girl, then they walked out to the back garden to set it free. It’s a little thing, but I found it charming.
People were really nice, and I walked away with a few garden toys.
