Great food! Great owners! We love going in and grabbing a bite to eat! Downtown Sherman. I love the street tacos! And the salads or always fresh with real mixed greens!

Good food, friendly staff and wide selection of beers. The club sandwich was awesome, side salad was regular size salad. The place was a lot bigger than expected, huge horseshoe bar. Will be back!

I’m here to update my review from two stars to three stars because the owner, Steve, was very quick to respond to my complaints and was more than professional. This is the type of restaurant owner who seems to care about his customers and their level of happiness. I’ve been back to the OIP since my poor experience with ordering over the phone and was provided excellent customer service. The key however, is constancy. I will likely visit OIP again in the future, because as I’ve said, their food and drinks are great.

I may revisit this review again later. Just the first time experience was not a good one. We understood it was busy and we waited on the list. An hour goes by when we were told it would be 30 min. The lady told us for some reason our name was crossed out and that’s why we were over looked and that it would be 15 minutes or less for a table but we would be at top of the list. We ended up just leaving. Granted this was from 2 weeks ago. But hope next time there will be a better way to go about this.

Been here one time to eat and the food was fantastic. Tried to come other times and too crowded and unable to order a drink at the bar. Very unorganized. I will try them again but plan on getting there early if you want a table or even just a beer. They need more seating!

We were passing through Sherman and stumbled upon this wonderful place. We were traveling with our small kids and are usually hesitant about trying new places since kids can sometimes act wild. The staff here made our kids feel right at home. The service was perfect and the food exceeded every expectation. Even my picky kids loved the food. I would highly recommend checking these guys out. It’s nice to find a place these days that treats customers like people and not a paycheck. We can’t wait to get back and look forward to stopping here anytime we travel near.

First time visit this afternoon for lunch. The atmosphere is nice, but service is slow. After the hostess sat us we were not greeted by a waiter for a good 5 – 10 minutes. The hostess had to come back over and take our drink order. Possible that this is not normal, and I can overlook it. We had the chips and queso which were really good, but it took so long for them to come out and once we got them, our food was at our table three minutes later. I had a jalapeño cream cheese burger and regular fries. It was good. Maybe a little too much cream cheese, but still tasty. The fries were delicious. My mom however had the chicken fried steak and it was like they didn’t season it at all. It was only edible because of the gravy. If the food was top notch and outstanding I could overlook the slow service and prices, but unfortunately the food is lacking. Overall: it’s not bad, but it’s not great.

I sat at the bar 3:45 St. Patrick day to have a green beer and late lunch and three people walked in behind me and got beer and menus before I did and then a fourth walked in and sat on the other side and got served ahead of me.

My husband and I ate here a couple times when they first opened and thought the place looked great, had a great patio and decent service, but had too limited of a menu and the food wasn’t as good as expected. We were very pleased to see during our visit today that many of the menu and food problems have now been addressed. The menu has a wider selection now, the Pepper Jack Queso has improved dramatically from what we had on our first visit, and everyone in our party of four left full and happy. I enjoyed trying the Dublin Root Beer, which I’d not seen elsewhere, and the Jalapeño Cream Cheese Burger was good once I added some mustard… it was a little bland on its own. The only other thing we didn’t care for were the pinto beans, again too bland. Anyway, now that we know the menu has improved, I’m sure we will visit much more often!

All of the food was great, along with the service. The monkey balls were delicious, and so were all of our sides. I absolutely loved the grilled pineapple and mushroom skewer. The only complaint is that I ordered honey mustard chicken, and I am not sure what kind of honey mustard that was. It was dark brown, and very spicy and had no honey mustard flavor at all. My stomach can’t handle spicy food, so after one bite I had to stop eating. I ordered it because honey mustard is usually sweet. If it was going to be different, I wish the menu description could have explained that so I knew ahead of time.

Try this place! The beer menu is a thing of art. The food and service might be even better. We came in on a Thursday night for beer and appetizers. The grapefruit IPA is fresh and clean. The monkey balls and bacon wrapped wings were both flavorful. I recommend kickin bourbon wing sauce.

Today their were six of us jurors, eating lunch together & paid with separate checks. We were on a crunch time to get back to the courthouse. Our server, Nikolas did not tend to our needs in a timely matter, I ordered Midori straight up. After the drink was served I did ask for a glass of ice. I ended up digging the ice out of my water glass. «Nathan Ryan Hot Dogs» ??? On my itemized receipt it stated Ballpark Hot Dog. The sweet potato fries were presented well, except for one thing. To much salt. I didn’t even attempt to try them. I was not impressed with Old Iron Post.

Good food and nice atmosphere. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night, you may have a wait. Have the monkey balls and the milk and honey ale.

The food, plan old burger, was really good with options of sweet potato fries or regular. Very cool atmosphere, great location and employees were very nice. However, not a good place to go for lunch if you only have 30 minutes. Service was very slow. Menu seemed to have plenty of choices and food is a little pricey. Yes I will go back.

We came here during their soft opening and we weren’t impressed with the food. The building is beautiful and the servers nice. We decided to give it another try recently. We really want this place to make it. The owner has put so much money into the remodel. The food is still not good. We couldn’t eat any of our vegetable sides and we have eaten better cheeseburgers at the local fast food joints. We really like the bar and will probably return for drinks.

Service is slow, place is very busy. Not great when you can hear the food expediter yelling for runners over the band. Atmosphere is laid back and very cool rustic. Shakedown was playing tonight, AWESOME. Thanks for inviting us out Teddy.

So, I went to the Old Iron Post Second time after my first bad experience. I decided to give it a shot. I wanted to see if they improved their menu and food itself. The waiter Banner that served us was so attentive to My friend and I. I decided to order the same thing I ordered before, the pulled pork sandwich but this time with Mac and cheese. This time pulled pork sandwich was warm and pork actually tasted not that bad. Mac and cheese was a little over spiced for me, but it was still really good. So I was satisfied with my food. My friend ordered pepperoni burger and sweet potato fries. OMG, potatoes were sooo good– crunchy, enough sweet and fresh. Burger was alright… Different. The service this time was much better too. Our waiter Banner did a great job making sure that we had everything and our drinks were full. I’m glad the Old Iron Post has improved and I hope it’ll be getting better and better.

the 903 beers on Tap as well as Deep Ellum brewery beers, food was great — Started lunch with BUFFALOCHIPS, which is Ground Chicken, blue cheese and herbs rolled up into a ball, breaded and fried. While served with Ranch, the flavor didn’t require any dipping sauce for my taste. My entrée was, «THEHATCH» Grilled chicken topped with spicy hatch chili sauce. A good piece of chicken the Hatch chilies were a little bland for me but otherwise a tasty dish. I had the 903IPA — a hoppy IPA — pretty standard as far as IPA’s go… the rest of the beers from the 903 certainly have a unique flavor and worth trying but none were really my preferred flavor in a beer.

This is the kind of place you really want to support. In a well restored building, the interior is inviting and comfortable; the kind of gathering spot where friends will want to meet and down a few beers. But… on a slow Wednesday night, our group of six waited over an hour for our food, which finally arrived… cold. Our waiter never asked if our food was satisfactory… he knew better. Makes you wonder how they handle a busy night. So, how long do you give a place like this to work the kinks out? Like I said, I’m really rooting for this new offering to make it. But I’m going to want to see a bunch of positive reviews before I return.
