Went with my son because he bought a new vehicle. We knew it needed an alignment and that it had a leak so we got the $ 30.99 inspection to verify. They came back and verified that it needed an alignment but never addressed the leak. In fact, the receipt and work paperwork only addressed the alignment issues and I had to ask about the rest of the inspection. When I pressed for more details on the leak he said that the visual inspection verified it but that unless we had the engine bay pressure washed and returned they wouldn’t be able to diagnose it. That seems very fishy to me.
On top of that, they wouldn’t give us a copy of the report and the counter technician eventually hand wrote a couple things that were obvious on our alignment receipt after I balked about it. We still don’t know the full details of the inspection, but I won’t go back to find out. Taking my business elsewhere from now on. It isn’t the fact that they didn’t look at the leak, or even that they didn’t offer to put it back on the rack again for a second look. But not giving me an inspection report at all is bad business and shows a total lack of class.

I am leaving my original review up because it happened just as I wrote it. But I am upgrading my rating because Dobbs Corporate Office reached out to me and did everything you could ask to make it right. We are getting the inspection we originally asked for but didn’t receive, and I am getting it at the location nearest my home instead of Shiloh where we were out and about. Thank you for standing behind your name and making this right!

We have standardized in using Dobbs for our fleet vehicles tires and alignment. They provided great communication for repair time and their pricing has always been competitive

So I’m sitting up here at Dobbs Tire in Shiloh getting my tires fixed and the manager is joking around with other employees degrading Mexicans, not realizing that I am Mexican and very proud to be one. He said ALL Mexicans are lazy and illegals and wouldn’t want to work with any. When I confronted him, very nicely about it he told me it was an inside «joke». I told him he needed to keep it inside. I am livid right now. I will be calling his boss at corporate. And I will be telling anyone and everyone I know to not come here. Wow. I am still in shock and sickened that they even said that out loud with customers in the building.

They took me in after closing time so that I would not have to drive 40 miles on a donut. Put on 2 new tires and fixed my out of whack alignment. The guys were super friendly, and the service was fast. You guys are AWESOME.

They know what they are doing. Good prices, not much scamming. 1hr to change out new tires. That’s pretty good. All tires come with FREE lifetime road hazard and rotation.

So helpful with a last minute special order tire. Fast and friendly, even helped with our budget to make things work, will definitely be using them again!

Being a single lady I have had my share of auto places trying to take advantage. Any place from a 10 minute oil change center to a nationally known mechanic. I am usually pretty leery when it comes to getting my car fixed correctly and without feeling like I was being taken advantage. Since I moved to town (O’fallon Illinois) 3 months ago, I have had to have a sensor on a tire replaced and a full front and back brake job. I went to Dobbs originally because of the flat tire. I was sure I was going to have to replace at least 2 tires but it was just a sensor needing replaced which they did very quickly (45 minutes for the whole deal) and for not very much money. They also offered to change out the valve stems on the tires for ones that were less prone to leakage and breakage, all for no charge. A few weeks later I had to have my brakes done. It was passed time and I knew it was going to be expensive. I went in and asked them to take a look. They got it done in just a few hours, they did it under budget, and I feel much safer driving now. Not only was the service fast and affordable, the service is wonderful. The employees know their stuff and are courteous and helpful. I imagine they are treating their customers the way they would hope someone was treating their wives or daughters. I will definitely be back and have already recommended Dobbs to friends and family.

On Saturday my friend dropped off my 2008 Ford Fusion at Dobbs. He explained that I would be giving this car to my sister next week and she would be driving it home to Maryland. It was requested that they check the car out to look for anything of concern with special attention to the brakes which we felt probably need to be replaced due to mileage. Well, that kind of explanation could have been an open invitation for lots of repairs but the integrity and professionalism was amazing.
They called to give me an update and left a message. Rather than calling back I stopped by to review what needed to be done. Imagine my happiness when they shared that the only things that were needed were some fluids and a tire adjustment that had caused the tire pressure light to come on.
The cost was minimal and the certainty of repeat business is cemented.

I am contacting the better business bureau on Dobbs Tire and Auto. specifically the one in Hampton village in St. Louis, mo… I bought my car in for a simple oil change and their mechanic broke the dip stick tube that’s connected to the frame connected to the engine that you check the tranny fluid with. he broke the bracket that holds it to the motor and tried to tie it back together and tell us it was already broke… if that were broke we would have heard it moving and knocking up against something. but he tried to claim that it was broken when we bought it in… and we know that it wasn’t broke… he spilled antifreeze fluid all over the engine and everywhere under the hood. on top if that they are trying to tell us the radiator needs to be replaced… however my car has never ran hot… the coolant light is not on… the service engine light is not on… there is not any fluid leaking from under the car… I just drove it out of town 1 week ago to Kentucky with no problems. then tells me it will cost 1200 to fix it… I bring it to these guys and all of a sudden everything is broken… even though all i came in for was a simple oil change… you guys are crooks, dishonest mechanics, and a scam… I will never do business with you again… all I asked for was a oil change and nothing was suppose to be taken a loose or moved around… you are crooks and i am telling the world… your mechanic could not even look us in the face… because he knew he did something wrong… I am on my out of town for the holidays and now i can’t go… thanks a lot Dobbs…

There are two kinds of workers here, clueless or attitude!!! Seriously this must be the training farm system for gubment employees.
I got clueless today, took about sixteen questions to find my car’s warranty information. The best one do you have the receipt? Nope was just here two weeks ago.
My question to him, «you must have a lot of customers contractually required to come to you?». Mmmm yeah why do you ask?
Seriously, these folks could fuck up a free whore house!!!
I got charged $ 25 (including «green fee») because these cluster fucks can’t mount a tire??? It’s not like it’s in their company title!

they take a while and i think they’re expensive. they’ve never messed up or anythings. but it wasn’t my favorite experience.

I had a noise coming from one of my wheels — I took it in on lunch (10:45am), they called at 2:00pm, and told me it was something nominal. I stopped by after work to pick it up, whipped out my credit card expecting to eat it.
The bill? $ 0.00
If and when something major goes wrong, I’m definitely going back.

I’ve debated about writing this review as for the last couple years I’ve been a pretty faithful customer of Dobbs. Once you learn the tricks of the place, come in fairly early on Saturday and wait for your car and you will most likely be waiting less than 30 minutes which is not bad in my opinion. It’s currently really close to where I live, and I’ve always had good service from them. A couple years ago the warned me my tires were wearing unevenly which ended up costing me a fortune as I had to get an alignment and 4 new times (dang those 18″ rims) but it was something I had not noticed and could have caused a preventable accident. They even had, key word being had, a frequent customer punch card where after 5 oil changes the 6^th one was free.
However after my latest visit I seriously doubt I will ever be back. Did I receive bad service? No, was rather pleased with the service. Ok, so they were rude? Nope, quite nice actually. Unfortunately the reason I will not be back comes down to the all mighty dollar. When I got the bill for my oil change and it was nearly $ 50 for the bottom of the barrel (no pun intended) oil, not the fancy and costly synthetic oil that was where I had to draw the line. My auditable gasp must have caught the guy who rang up my bill’s attention as he mumbled something about rising costs due to the oil spill in the Gulf. Now, don’t get me wrong, I expected that terrible disaster to have an effect on gas and things like oil changes, but when I get no less than 4 ads in my mail a week for a $ 19.99 basic oil change at competitors, I just can’t keep being that faithful customer. I’m sorry Dobbs, it was a good run we had, but in 5K miles when it’s time for my next oil change I will be going elsewhere.
If it were not for the big price tag for a basic oil change, I would probably give these guys 4 stars as the service is good.
