Protect Your Home – ADT Authorized Premier Provider

This review is for the intrusive, and frankly arrogant sales person who basically showed up at our door uninvited at 6:30 pm. I was actually on my way out the door when this «relocation manager» arrives, trying to sell me an ADT security system. I tried to be as polite as I could, letting her know I was on my way out and if there was information she could leave that I could share with my husband later, that would be best. She proceeded to tell me — and I quote — «I’m kind of a big deal, and I generally don’t make home visits except for exceptional customers.» Say what? She must have caught the look on my face, because she then launched into a stuttering, spluttering explanation of just how important of an employee she was. She even suggested that my real estate agent «hadn’t done his job» due to his failure to get in touch with her upon the closing of our house so that our system could have been installed prior to us moving in (hmmm… Maybe he doesn’t like ADT either?). Throughout the conversation, she kept trying to edge closer to the door and peak inside. Luckily, my dog was not impressed, and his posture caused her to rethink her tactic and step back. Before I finally got her to leave, she managed to throw out the «I really am kind of a big deal» line a couple more times. My high schoolers started giggling in the background at her absurdity.
I’ve met some «kind of a big deal (s)» before — Janet Napolitano, Jeff Tate, Richard Carmona, Sean Elliott, Don Pettit, Simon Le Bön (yeah, I’m dating myself here) — and they are all welcome to freely pop by my house unannounced at any time. But I’m sorry… unless you founded ADT, I don’t think you’re a big enough deal to show up at my home uninvited and behave like an intrusive, entitled, boorish dolt.
Needless to say — we definitely will not be using ADT.

Constantly being transferred! Staff is terrible at listening to customer concerns and situations. However, the manager and technician, Jamie are extremely helpful. They went out of their way to ensure we had a security system installed & working, even on their day off!

All this company cares about is trying to sell you upgrades when they come to install. Sent me to get my permit myself and when they contacted them they said they would never send a customer to do that. The lady at the permit office knew better because I was not the first. When the installed the keypad they stapled the wire down my wall to where it plugs in it looks so tacky and be aware they will not tell you how to get the $ 100 rebate (which they promised $ 200 since I had to get permit). Overall bad company and they have bad reviews on every place I’ve looked them up.

I would rate them 0 if I could. Terrible! I had a systems installed which they forgot to install one window and two windows didn’t work at all. Called multiple times to try and get it fixed and they would hang up on me or claim I needed to be transferred yet no one would help me. I asked to cancel and they gave me the same run around. Impossible to deal with.

If you can’t find sales reps who understand what a «no soliciting» sign means, why would I trust you to monitor my home? (I saw him look at it on his way in my gate). Then when I politely say not interested, he keeps pushing. Yeah… No thanks.

Threatened by ADT! One of their sales people came to my door and when I told him I wasn’t interested he began screaming expletives at me and that he hoped my house got broken into, along with obscene name calling. It was the most bizarre in-​person sales call I’ve ever experienced. Trying to call ADT to let them know how their sales rep was behaving got me into a frustrating phone loop — along with two customer service people giving fake phone numbers for their ‘complaint line’. Clearly no one working there cares one bit about their company or its reputation.
I’d stay far, far away from this ghoulish and unpleasant company.

Would not even quote me a price unless I gave them my full name and address. Way to make me feel safer ADT.

Please avoid this company at all costs. The rep may sound super nice at first but will not keep his or her word. I was told initially when comparing ADT and another competitor that I would be getting my installation, equipment, and five UPGRADED sensors for free of charge. Sounded like a good deal and went ahead and scheduled the installation. On the day of the installation, the installer said that he had no word of the five upgraded sensors after he installed them and said that he had to charge us for them. After speaking with him on the phone (another person was at home), he agreed to give us the five upgraded sensors for free. But because he had already drafted up the contract, he said he could not back out of it and still had to charge me the equipment fee. However if he got my credit card information and charged me, he would go back, alter the contract, and refund me the amount charged. This did not happen. I ended up having to pay for the additional upgrade and was not able to do anything about it as the customer service reps would always refer to my signed contract agreeing to pay for the equipment. Protect Your Home and their employees only care about squeezing every dollar out of you in any way possible, including breaking a customer’s trust and lying to them. The worst part is that I have to deal with them for the next three years. I will never go back to them again for security and anyone even remotely thinking about going to them should look the other way.
