Louisiana State University In Shreveport

This university made a monumental misstep in its’ future growth, when a couple of years ago, it was being strongly courted by Louisiana Tech University to become part of its’ system, only to blindly turn away and go running back into the arms of the LSU system. I compare that historical blunder much to a Jerry Springer-​esque star-​crossed romance. Tech (being the nice guy saying and doing all the right things, being polite, opening doors, pulling out chairs at restaurants, walking on the outside closest to the curb, when escorting his lady, this, and all the other chivalrous charms on public and private display) and LSU, is up sitting at the bar that he’s ALWAYS at, hears that some smooth talker, real gentleman-​like, is talking up his old lady. So he jumps in his truck and rolls on over to her place, and he’s all standing outside, yelling, all like, «But, baby, I LOVE you!» Never mind that he never calls, never texts, hasn’t taken her out on a proper date in yeeeeeaaars, forgets her birthday and stuff. Basically ignores her, like she doesn’t even exist. And with this purely charade-​like show of affection out in front of the house in the middle of the night, LSUS, is all like, biting her quivering lip. a tear streams down her face, «Oh, LSU…» she says softly, as as she runs back to LSU. And as LSU holds LSUS, rolling his eyes, he then looks at his phone to see what time it is, wondering if he can still make it back to the bar before last call of the night.
