Good food, cold beer, bad service. This is where the locals eat!
History
Established in 2006.
After drudging through years of corporate bull, Jason decided to pursue his passion for cooking. With all of the will and little of the skill, Culinary School was the answer. There, he met Quincy Hart, a 35-year veteran of the Southwestern Bell Company and passionate home chef. The two instantly hit it off, constantly brainstorming on flavor profiles, restaurant concepts, and what makes the best all-American burger. After years of planning, living like college students to save what they could, and developing a compelling business model to raise the rest of the money they needed, their dream was born. Twisted Root Burger Company began in the flagship Deep Ellum location in late 2006.
Meet the Business Owner
Grant N.
Business Owner
Grant Nuckolls is a 6th generation Shreveporter, proud to live and work in his hometown. After receiving a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Finance from Tulane University, Grant moved back to Shreveport where he worked for Hardware Resources in Bossier City.
After 6 years with the company, Grant turned his attention to a new career — foodservice. Grant was a fan of the Dallas-based Twisted Root Burger Co, previously visiting a few times a year during family trips to Dallas. One phone call turned into many months of work in their kitchens, learning the ins and outs (and ups and downs) of the restaurant business.
Grant broke ground on the first franchised Twisted Root in February of 2013. The restaurant opened later that year, and has enjoyed contributing to Shreveport’s burgeoning food culture.
When he is not in the restaurant, Grant enjoys playing guitar, serving on the boards of local nonprofits, and spending time with his wife Ann and daughter Emma.
