It’s my first week here and I love it. The application process and payment is all digital which made it very simple for me. Deanna did an excellent job throughout the whole process from viewing the demo unit to the first day move-​in, including answering all my questions. The apt looks great and maintenance staff was responsive to one of my requests. As far as the community goes there’s families with kids who play outside but I’d still consider it a relatively quiet place. It’s more rent than I’m normally used to but I think it’s worth it considering amenities e.g. in-​unit washer/​dryer, central air, gym, all of which I make use of. I’ve lived in an Avalon apt before and had an idea of what to expect, this experience met and exceeded my expectations.

Regardless of how neat and clean you keep your place they will find a way to keep your security deposit… then refuse or ignore attempts to have a conversation about the issue.

i lived in this place for almost 2 years, the apartment location is nice near 90 and 495 and 290 and UMass
the Apartment are really clean and new with nice space and affordable bills (the heater runs on Gas which is very cheap) so gas bill in the winter was around 50 – 65 $ with heater almost always on at 70 – 75 and the Bill in the summer would go lower to 10 – 15 $
the staff are really Amazing, nice and helpful, i checked in with Jim (a very nice manager)
responsive maintenance team and very nice Website (which you can use to pay rent and order maintenance)
the Community is really nice and safe, Pool in the Summer with life guard and ²⁴⁄₇ Gym and Basketball court plus there is Security guards at night
there is also a nice function room that you can reserve for free to have Parties.
the nice thing is that UMASS student would get special 70% off discount on deposit which is really helpful ;)
i moved out last month after spending a great time and today i got the security deposit refunded plus interest, the move out process was easy

My wife lived here for five years. The apartments are very clean, relatively new, and the front office has always been very accommodating (we especially liked Jim!).
The workout center is 24/​7, which I really came to enjoy. Nice pool to lounge around and catch some rays in the summer. They have security that patrols the place on a regular basis and we’ve never felt unsafe.
Overall, a great place to live. Will write more later on the checkout process…
This is a follow-​up post move-​out. Unfortunately, our only complaint about our Avalon experience was moving out. When we moved in, they required a $ 750 deposit. We lived there for five years and kept the place in immaculate condition… considering, we had been there for FIVE years.
Out of the $ 750 deposit, (like the other reviewer), we only received ~$ 400 back. I have always been under the impression that apartments replace carpet after normal wear and tear — and do a paint job every couple of years. Well, at Avalon, just be aware that you will probably be charged for this, no matter how much of a clean freak you are.
Other than that little hick-​up, we loved our stay at Avalon.

My husband and I have been disputing the charges for vacating our townhouse unit for weeks. We were given a «light touch up» estimate of $ 60 for painting and when we received our final bill the charged us $ 433.12!!! They have not sent us any documentation to support the $ 373.12 difference in charges. Now trying to get the corporate office to respond because the customer service department has been terrible.
Also, if you plan to sign a lease with this company in Massachusetts make note you will be charged for basic turnover operations of your unit. it’s not outlined on the lease, but they charge you anyway. Think carefully about this because they get your security deposit up front and just won’t refund any of the money to you and you don’t want to deal with the lack of customer service, like I am having to do now, to dispute any charges.
