I live right around the corner and have been interested in trying this place. Went last night — both my husband and me ended up sick from the food. DONTGOHERE!

My wife and I have enjoyed this restaurant several times over the last year or so. The menu is vast, having both Chinese and Japanese cuisine. They also have a smallish lunch buffet, which is about $ 10 a person. Two positive things stick out for me: 1) During a buffet lunch, we were asked if there was a specific type of sushi we would like to have as part of the buffet lunch, and 2) the service in general is very accommodating — they are attentive and friendly. One of our favorite dishes there is the chicken Chow Fun — a flat, gummy noodle with veggies and chicken — a goo smokey flavor to it. Also, their appetizers are great across the board. Prices are fair and it is family friendly. One thing that would bump up the rating from 4 to a 5 would be this: Often, some of the dishes tend to be on the«safe» side of flavoring — bordering bland. The Szechuan Chicken is an example of this. Still good and fresh, just lacking a little punch. But it’s not a deal breaker for us. Relaxed atmosphere that you can bring the family to — we look forward to going again.

I live right around the corner from this place and always drive by it wondering what it’s like. I decided to take a chance on it and was slightly disappointed. The outside looks nice but the inside does not match. Inside, it is clearly and old place that needs a lot of updating. The food was mediocre at best. I love that it’s so close to me for a night where I don’t feel like cooking. Having said that, will I come back? Probably not. I’d rather explore other places even though this restaurant is super convenient.

The selection of this place is not as good as it seems. The buffet is horrible! The«sushi» was under par! BUT you can pay extra for the sushi bar, which wasn’t opened at the time we were served. Will not return!

I had seen the sign for this place numerous times and I finally went after wanting to go for months. The food was pretty good I had sesame chicken and some maki rolls, they were both adequate. There are better places serving either or both of those dishes. They appeared to have the set up available for a buffet which I intend to investigate eventually.

Bauhinia used to be my go-to place for sushi and veggies because their prices were reasonable and they were close to come. Unfortunately I won’t be back again after ordering the steamed veggies for take-out, only to find that when I got home, there was a large piece of chicken mixed in with my veggies. Not a huge problem for anyone carnivorous, but as a vegan I was disgusted. Sorry, but I won’t be back!

I been to work lunch events here at least ½ dozen times, and the buffet is average at best, always waiting for dishes to be replenished and the food is not great but for a buffet about what I would expect. The issue I have is the service, waiter/waitresses are rude and are looking to get you seated and then move on to the next customer, if you need a refill you need to go to them and they don’t even acknowledge they heard your request, just a dead eyed look and turns away. The last 2 times I’ve been there my hands literally stuck to the table, and this is after the waiter wiped the tables down with what looked like a used bar rag. Between rude service and questionable cleanliness I would avoid this restaurant.

The ambience leaves a bit to be desired but it probably some of the better asian food i’ve ever had. Top 3 for sure. I’ve had 5 different items and they’ve all been excellent. Consistent, priced decent, good drinks. Go here for sure!

Good food. Rudest service around. The people at the host stand are so nice but it stops there. I felt like I was on some hidden camera show — waiting for some camera crew to pop out and say just kidding! We were literally laughing at how rude the woman was… snapping at us for things like politely asking for a straw or drink refill. I would suggest takeout.

Food and atmosphere are above average for Chinese/Japanese restaurant. You can order a pu pu for one and have plenty for two. The sushi is also good, especially with one of their potent mai tais. Nice spot with great service to just unwind and grab a bite to eat and a few drinks.

Come here often for Chinese & a few sushi rolls. Fish is always fresh & delicious. Chinese is decent. The reason for the four stars are really for the excellent service they provide, so friendly and accommodating. My three yr old looooves Chinese & their buffet hits the spot for both of us as I’d much rather have sushi. I’ve never had an issue or concern with cleanliness or friendliness. Is it the best sushi you’re ever going to eat? No. But overall you will be satisfied with your experience & quality.

I didn’t even know this place had sushi. But I was with my aunt and after she suggested it I remembered that I had been here once before, about 3 years ago, and loved the crab rangoon. She and my mother have need here several times to pick up take-out for my grandmother. While we were there I even commented on how having sushi at a buffet might not be the best idea when it’s not something everyone might eat. After I ordered sushi off the menu, which didn’t taste terrible, I went home and got food poisoning. Not cool!

Went here for the lunch buffet, definitely not worth the price. Nothing sepcial, and for lunch, a but too pricey. I can’t even comment on any of the food, because it was nothing special all together. Avoid this place.

We have eaten at these restaurant a number of times over the past few years. The chinese food is okay, but last Sunday was probably our last visit. I ordered chicken with mixed vegetables, and as I started eating my dinner I noticed a piece of uncooked chicken. The waitress apologized and had the this dish replaced with a new, fully cooked one, but the manager never even made an effort to come over to our table and apologize. Needless to say, we will not be be returning.

I recently went to this place while visiting a couple of friends in Shrewsbury. Interior and exterior look nice, reminded me of those ski lodges at the base of the mountain. We went for lunch, and we only spent a little more than $ 10 per person. They serve mainly American Chinese Cuisine and some sushi. I found the sushi to be just mediocre, nothing remarkable. I got some mustard for the sushi, and I thought it had a strong spiced kick on it and tasted like they put a significant amount of wasabi in the mustard. It was so strong that my sinuses felt a strong burning rush. Did not taste much fish or seafood on the sushi rolls and I thought the fish part of the nigiri sushi lacked some freshness. The gari was also decent as well. I had some wonton soup, and I thought it was also mediocre, and not very memorable. Wontons were soft and the soup itself lacked flavor and had a slight blandness. The Singapore noodles were fairly tasty, and had some spice in it. The chicken teriyaki was tasty, liked the tenderness of the chicken. The Scallion Pancake had a good balance of chewiness and crispiness. It did not taste great, but it did taste good. The dumplings were also okay, liked the crispy exterior, and scallions inside, but the meat was also slightly bland. As for dessert, I only had some Cookies and Cream Ice Cream, and I thought it was great, because it is one of my favorite ice cream flavors. I think they chose a fairly good distributor, wherever they got the ice cream from. Overall, if you are in Shrewsbury, MA and need a place to eat a lot of food and pig out for lunch, this is not a bad choice to spend a little more than $ 10 on slightly tasty sushi or American Chinese food.
