Whitmore’s Music has been serving the Northwest Arkansas community for over 40 years, with musical instruments of all types, as well as print and recorded music. Also available are accessories, such as guitar strings, band instrument needs, and drumsticks, to name a few. History

Established in 1968.

Whitmore’s Music started as a small piano service in the late 1940’s. The original owner, Paul Whitmore, was a piano technician who also taught music at John Brown University, a Christian liberal arts school in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

During the 1950’s and 60’s he continued to tune and rebuild pianos, eventually moving into piano sales while working out of a garage/​workshop. In 1968, he began the retail business which in 1977 grew into Whitmore’s Music Center.

Paul Phillips, the current owner, was hired to help with sales after the business moved to a larger location, and a year later married the boss’s daughter. In 1985 Paul and his wife Paula purchased the business from her dad and have actively managed and operated it since then.

Music education and ministry have been the focus of Whitmore’s Music through the years. A large portion of the local inventory is dedicated to educational and Christian music, although the only items available online remain accompaniment and karaōke tr
